Most of these out of city services are voluntary . Cheers to all of our rural fireservices who do this for their communities. 🎉
Thanks for this Ian, I'm a proud Sandgroper (West Aussie). The people in the orange SES (State Emergency Services) suits and the majority of the rural fire service are volunteers. What you see in this video is repeated through out Australia wherever a fire service is needed. We are so blessed to have these people in our community who put their own lives on the line to protect us.
Sandgroper here as well.
Yes, our volunteers in Australia and also helping all around the world are truly amazing! 🙋🏅🥰
That Tatra cab is the military, air-transportable cab (Force line), designed with ultra simplicity in mind. That's why it has unified old style switches and gauges and that super simple shape, with flat windows. Those properties are welcomed in the firefighting as well, thus the derived civilian version. There are other cabs, like Phoenix one (is shared and was designed by DAF), or a classic Tatra cab, or another armoured (by Excalibur, I think), which also has a firefigting version.
The specially protected tanker "Triton" is based on the Excalibur Army Triton.
Here in Australia 🇦🇺 we call them as bull / roo bars as what their design to protect from the one which have bar on side of it are called scrub / bush bars
Love the dog and when you laugh with dogs mouth open looked as dog was laughing
Just look up just trucks Australia 🇦🇺
That's cool, I've never seen a fire boat before. Only the ses one's getting around when it flood's 👍
I recognize those, not far from me in the "Murry shire" Yunderup & Ravo.
😎🤘
Fun trivia for you, Ian. The dog enjoying the water at 2:00 is Piper, part of the State Emergency Service Canine Unit. Both the dogs and handlers are SES volunteers, and they have an amazing record in search and rescue.
I got the chance to volunteer and try to hide from the dogs in a training exersize a few years back. Failed miserably. 😂
You can't hold back a healthy Border Collie, we had them on the family farm, they really keep their humans hopping! 😄
Australian diesel landcruisers are a great investment the more original the better cheers from South Australia
1:42 The center of excellence was only just completed when that clip was made. That where they are spraying water is a new garden area that has some more drought tolerant plants in it.
tatra definitely goes straight to the pool room. Next to the jousting sticks
Its blessing to wake up And first thing Is , IWrocker posting new content!!!!
Stay tuned for mail time. Coming soon!
Yes coming soon indeed Lithgow. I know it’s been a while 😊😅
The city of Rotterdam in the Netherlands was the only city in Europe to purchase American Ahrens-Fox fire engines in 1926. I remember how we used to stare as boys when they were polished outside the firehouses. And I even saw them in action once during a major fire. Sadly, the city has gotten rid of them in 1972 and only a few remain in museums.
The Tatra 4.4 Broadacre with the ROPS/FOPS Cab is speed limited to 105km/h.
And the yellow ‘tanker’ is an old truck that I don’t believe is still in use
Common Tatra W
first time. the 2024 Toyota land cruises. diesel. will be available with auto georbox and manual. those 4.2 diesel are INDESTRUSTIBLE. Hey Ian, you are still a little kid. God bless your heart. you and yours, stay safe.. Luv man. From the big OZ
The first Toyota was a land cruiser ute
4:33 Ian those lights are there in the event that the truck is caught in a burnover. Do yourself and a lot of your viewers a favour and look search for it on here. Those rolls of foil above the windows are heat shields and it gets very dark in the cab of a truck with them down.
Go have a look at Museum of Fire which has different types of vehicles going back in time. Its a place here in my hometown in Penrith western Sydney
While you’re in Western Australia, chase up Peter Brock’s last ever competitive drive in Targa West. RIP
Hey Ian. That first unidentified truck is an Isuzu. Yeah, you got the 70 series Land Cruiser. The Ford Cargo (European origin) near the end of the first video is ancient. I did my truck license test in one of those in 1990, and that truck was getting on a bit.
The bars on the front are called bull bars
A TATRA! 🙋😁 Made rugged for Western Australia! 👍 Every real Fire Truck must have a dog mascot! 😄 Australia demands the strongest trucks and four by four vehicles, I'm sure Government sites are the place to find great, cheaper, barely used vehicles! 🤔
First truck is an Isuzu....they are usually 4WD/AWD when setup for the rural fire services in each state....hence the ground clearance.
Like a flaming kid in a toy shop. 🚒
AUD 35,000 is about USD 22,000.
Qld Ambulance used to sell their outback & rural ambos as campers. They were landcruisers in the 1990s, the patient area makes a great sleeping area, and it's full of storage and lights both inside and out as you'd expect for an ambo. Of course kept in great condition too.
Tatra in australia??? yes, I am proud again here👍🙋🇨🇿
In the Czech Republic there is a specially protected tanker "Triton" on Excalibur Army Triton chassis. The cabin and chassis are protected against mechanical damage, with protection corresponding to ballistic protection class 2. In addition, the occupants are protected against contamination by toxic chemical and biological substances. The vehicle is also protected against the effects of fire and heat. All electrical, fuel, oil and air lines on the outside of the vehicle are specially shielded.
Those types of trucks are very special though, with very few units allocated to fire department centers. Ordinary fire trucks looks very much similar to those shown, just the European style hides more the equipment, behind shutters, covers and doors.
If you look closely at the tatra you’ll see it has a metal tube around the cabin. I think it’s called a “halo” system. This is a fire suppressant sending a spray of water around the cabin protecting the fire fighters. It also has drop down fire proof blinds in the windows. The fire can pass over the truck with the fire fighters surviving. These trucks can literally drive through the fire.
In 2019 in the fires here in NSW Australia I was chatting to the fire fighters and one of these had all the plastic surrounds around the side windows dripping down the doors. They were having a quick feed and going back out.
@@fugawiaus The tanker "Triton" has a completely different task than the Tatra in the video. "Triton" was developed to fight vegetation fires in ammunition depots or on areas contaminated with munitions. For this it has the ballistic protection of level 2.
@@karstendoerr5378 hehe, and we just have explosive trees.
@@fugawiaus It's really no fun with that. The development of the vehicle was triggered by the explosion of an ammunition depot near the village of Vrbětice in 2014, where about 50 tons of ammunition were detonated. Immediate firefighting and rescue operations were followed by a total of six years of evacuation and recovery under sometimes extreme conditions (inaccessible terrain, ammunition load).
The tax system is one of the primary causes of high car prices in Australia, especially the Luxury Car Tax (LCT). The Howard government established this tax to operate together with the goods and services tax (GST). The Australian Luxury Car Tax came into place to replace the wholesale tax in the 1980s
The first truck is the West Murray (bushfire brigade) is 2000L 4wd or 2.4. The yellow truck is Mundijong (bushfire brigade) 7.2, 7000 litres of water, 2 wheel drive. The tatra is the Milling (Bushfire Brigade) 4.4, 4000 litres of water, 4 wheel drive. The Toyotas have 500L of water and are called light tankers LTs. The white trucks with red tanks are parks and wildlife 2000L 4wd daul cab gang trucks
The Japanese Toyota landcruiser was the same engine as Australian Toyota landcruiser very slow pick up I owned one till some d khead set fire to it
How good life is, living in Western Australia.
As I am a West Aussie myself, the first fire truck at the start is an Izuzu.
Isuzu and Iveco are the most used fire trucks in Australia along with the land cruiser fast attacks. They are surprisingly good off-road, we have been in some outlandish places in them.
I dunno ….. I’d say that there are more Scanias than Iveco’s.
@@maddomaddo9637 are you talking bush fire off-road or the red trucks full time firefighters?
Isuzu and hino
The yellow truck at 8:50ish would most likely be a water tanker
Optional implementation of various engines on the TATRA chassis
The problem with the ultralight tankers based on Toyota land cruisers is they love to body roll, their ambition outweighs their ability, and they can drink like you wouldn't believe. But I'm not letting you take mine
The Ford truck is a Ford Cargo, Cheers
If you like Tatras you should check Czech Truck Trial.
You are looking 79 series land cruiser and Isuzu units
can u do queensland emergency vehicles
You should look at cyclone tracy in the northern Territory
First truck.. 3.4U, is an Isuzu 4x4 Cab Chassis.. Body on rear is custom built in Western Australia.
Numbering.. First is water carried in '000L. Second is drive (ie. 4 for 4x4).
You'll generally see 1.4, 2.4, 3.4, 4.4, 7.2, 12.2.
U =Urban, R = Rural, B = Broadacre. Different build based on those roles - stowage, equipment carried, pump / foam system varies between them.
The Toyota Landcruiser 70's are a 4.5L V8 Turbo Diesel. Absolutely unbreakable and fantastic to drive in anger.
Yellow trucks are ANCIENT. Talking more than 25 years. Would not be many about.
Im going to have to get on your discord Ian. I work at an old refinery and we have 2 custom built fire pumpers ( 2 of 3 only ever built) at a cool 3.2 million bucks each. Specialized for refinery/tank fires, I'll grab some pictures for you.
all the rescue trucks we get in australia are from aisa
Mundijong gota new tanker called a 12.2
When you look at the the WA trucks on the side it might say 3.4,2.4,2.2 and 12.2. The first number is how many 1,000’s of litre’s of water it hold and the second number is how many wheel drive it is
The other white trucks you couldn't identify are Isuzu's mate👍They're very popular with local and federal governments over here in WA because they are very reliable and come in many different variants to suit all work conditions.
1:22 Good old West Murray 3.4, my old rig before I left 🥲
I noticed the Tatra had rolled up heat shields for the windows.
All fire appliances in WA do now, plus a duress alarm, in cab air masks and deluge system.
First truck Isuzu 4x4 crewcab
I’m I nsw Australia
Little known fact. The colour red (low energy level) is the first colour that turns to black in low light levels. Where as the colour white or the fluro colours are the last to go black
Both first to go? 🤷♂️
Which is also why we have both red & blue lights on emergency vehicles these days.
@@flfl2 Interesting, If you go back trough history of NSW (From memory) Blue was for Police and Red was for Ambulances (I remember ambulances as F150s and before that panel vans) I remember when it was changed so that everybody had red and blue and the "suspected" reason for the change was that people were less likely to move over for a blue light but would defiantly move over for a red.
Yellow truck would be a ford cargo
79 series land cruiser
@Iworcker @15:48 thats not a ute it be be classed as a land cruiser
1 big gas tank
we do shit right in WA with fire and rescue
It's a Landcruiser ute, the Hilux looks nothing like a Landcruiser, it's the same size, class and style as a Ford Ranger.
fuel tank capacity tatra 815-7 force 4x4 is 210 l diesel/67 l AdBlue 2 times on request
:)
