Thank you for both videos. Excellent work! It helped me a lot understand skull anatomy and I loved the way you created the basis (with the pipes) I always have static problems when I try to do something and never figured how to have my piece easily turning around without my special metal base/table Thanks a lot! you are great!!
Thanks for this informative video, tomorrow I have a sculpting plate to do of a skull and I couldn't figure out how to make it before I watched your videos. I've learned a lot on how to slowly build up the details thank you!
This is freaking amazing. I love watching videos on how to do things with clay. I know I'm new to clay and I want to learn how to make awesome things like you can.
Thank you for the lesson! It's a fantastic treat to see such well sculpted skull, on a well-shot, well-lit video. Maybe I'm asking for a lot, but would you consider showing a similar skull or the same, if it still exists), with the final details, such as texture and natural crevices? I've never seen it done realistically on video, most people stop at the smooth skull, or go with improvised, exaggerated textures. Thanks again.
@KamilahCydni96 I use Elmers wood Glue because it drys fast and eventhough the clay is oily it sticks to it very nicely. Another reason is that it drys clear with a slight tent. I can later apply paint if I so desire. I can also clean the mess with water. PVA might work too. I have never used it so I don't know how it would look after application. I would suggest applying som PVA to a piece of left over or scrap clay and see the result before using it on a sculpture you have labored a long time.
Thank you for your comments! Yes, I used a halogen lamp to heat the oil based clay (Roma Plastilina #2) which is a medium hardness to be a little bit softer to work with. It will quickly return to its normal hardness at room temperature.
@KamilahCydni96 This sculpture was made with oil based clay and it will not go in the kiln because it will melt away. The glue was added at the end of sculpting.
Fantastic! I've tried (without nearly as much success) to sculpt a skull as well - though I'm using the kind of clay that gets fired. I make a ball out of newspaper and tape, and sculpt around that - what kind of clay is this stuff? I saw that you mentioned it's an oil based clay, but will it air dry and become permanent? Great stuff. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for the video... I'll be attempting a skull out of modelling chocolate for my son's birthday cake. I'm a cake decorator, and this will be my second sculpt, so I hope it's 1/4 as good as yours lol
First Congratulations on the job. I have a question, I saw in the first video that the material to be heated, is it so? , Is the hot material is easier to work?, Did not harden?. Thanks
Such great work! Would it be possible to cut off the top half and hollow it out to make a kind of container? I'd really love to do that for my ceramics project!
Amazing thank you for showing some of the small details and techniques that I would have missed, because atm I am doing a skeleton project for an art competition that my school is hosting and I am making a skeleton holding his hands together, like he is holding water, with a glowing apple in the middle with stars and what looks like a galaxy inside of it (made of liquid that ill be spinning because of a small motor and led). While the skeleton is crying (the same galaxy liquid) with its mouth ajar.
Have you got a DeviantArt? :) You are so amazing! :) my sculpure aren't 1% of your :) (sorry for errors with someone words but I'm not perfect in English)
Here is a link to Amazon for clay sculpting tool set. It has many of the tools I used. www.amazon.com/Pottery-Sculpting-Beginners-Professional-Augernis/dp/B07HNB6SWY/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&qid=1548291591&sr=8-22&keywords=Clay+sculpting+tool+set

Excellent post. I built my first sculpey skull off this. You've sped through the teeth bit so I've had to guess quite a bit there.
You, sir, are a true artist!

Thank you for your kind comments! These are the most encouraging comments I have read. Cheers! :)
Thank you. You are very kind! :)
Thank you! No this was not for a mould, all I did at the end was to brush on Elmer's Glue
Thanks! I think I used J-Mac Clay for this one. Yes, it is an oil based clay that won't dry up at all. It always stays soft.
Thanks for your comments! I had to seed up the videos to make them short. :)

You are welcome. This was sculpted using an oil based clay that is not fired and stays soft.
i like it. just a tip though. make the brow a tad bit bigger
nice work , how did you finish it? was this for a mould ?
@DrummerElliott Thank you very much! Maybe you could spread the word. :)

@3DworlD2 ah okay. Thanks! Btw did you put it in a kiln before you put the glue? or you just put the glue straight after you finished?
The more you do the better it gets! :)
@Nicholas Valentine thanks for your commens! I did make the brow a bit larger in part 3.
@01amitroberts Thank you very much! :)
@clayguy1 Thank you!
Love it. Wish I had this talent. And I also wish you had many more views because this is great =)
@3DworlD2 I shall:) What glue can I use at the end? Would PVA work?
This is very cool!
