Although Benny was a fairly accomplished violinist, he would never be a master because he started too late in life to get the fingering down. He wrote an excellent autobiography that laid hidden for years until his daughter found it and published it in the 90's. Full of great stories about the legendary personalities of the 30's and 40's.
