If you'd like to know how to play this game on your pc, then here is a tutorial I made on how to get it running ruclips.net/video/oo_fWmwHaW4/видео.html
I loved this game. I was so upset because I wanted to keep playing it but my dad kept telling me that my reading level was too high for it and I needed a harder game.
I haven't seen this game since I was 9, back in 2003! Nostalgia! I did manage to beat the game as a kid in elementary school but not without trial and error. I remember one time I woke Dr. Dabble up on purpose just to see what happens (yeah, dumb move). I miss when games were simple. There was another version of this game but had everyone a party. I like how this one is darker.
I think the party one was about math? Not really sure as I never played it myself... but seen a little bit of it. There was also an older game which I assume is a prequel to this one called math blaster mystery pre-algebra.
Yea lol, I remember being scared of running into him while roaming around the house when I was younger. Only to find out he's always asleep in his room.
HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLY MOLLLLLLLLLLLLLY! I stopped working on a creative writing piece to randomly look up this old game I played 20 years ago as a kid. TANGENTS.
I’m so excited and moved to find this! As an EFL learner, the reading level was way too hard for me at that time. But through hours of playing, I was still able to release the guests! Had no idea what was going on in the meantime. So glad finally able to understand the directions after twenty years. Haha
This was on the computers in elementary school. I remember playing this version back in first and second grade yeah, I know but it kind of makes sense now that I can’t recall any of us getting very far
I’m up at 2am after work and for some reason I thought about how I used to play this game as a kid with my sister. Took me awhile to find it but it was so worth it
The Young Pride Landers from The Lion Guard symbolized kids who play this game, Reading Blaster Vocabulary and Math Blaster Pre-Algebra with Math Bingo board games!
As a player goes through each successive catacomb, the ghosts get older (the ghosts in the third catacomb have thick eyebrows and creases on their face).
I had this when I was 7 and managed to rescue everyone. The catch was I never did in one sitting, so I never technically beat it. I can't remember if this game had a save feature. If it did, I sure as hell didn't use it XD.
Kathy Hoss you can download it from here ( www.myabandonware.com/game/reading-blaster-9-12-1-0-3am ) but the game only works on windows xp 32-bit unfortunately. So you would have to use a virtual pc to emulate it if you don't happen to have a old pc.
I would, but I don’t own that game nor know where to find it for download sorry... I think someone else has uploaded a play through of it already though.

Does anyone know whether this branched off into a series of some kind? I'm desperately trying to find this one game I played as a kid and it was so similar to the one here, but with a different story and some very specific characters and mini-games that I remember vividly. The beginning was "recap" sort of sequence about the last mystery that our detective had solved. It involved Frankenstein's monster and horseshoes and was told through newspaper clippings and the like. There are elements like that in this game here, but none with that specific story. I also recall a female mummy character who presented you with a crossword mini-game. This is driving me bananas please if anyone can help 😭
I'm not sure honestly, but the only games that I know of, which feature the main character from this game are, "Math Blaster Mystery: The Great Brain Robbery", "Reading Blaster Vocabulary", and "Math Blaster Mystery Pre-Algebra".
@@rattus1575 Oh I actually figured it out after posting to t/tipofmytongue lol! It's definitely this Reading Blasters Vocabulary: ruclips.net/video/v06F-CgqmYQ/видео.html I'm still a little confused about how these were released though.
hey can you help me set this up? I've been wanting to set a pc emulator but it keeps failing, which sucks because this is my childhood game and i really want to play it again
Lost Wallflower okay, do you have a windows xp 32 bit iso? You're also might need to download a software called "Poweriso" and download the game itself, unless you still have the original CD-ROM
Sorry for late response, but yes you can download it from here (www.myabandonware.com/game/reading-blaster-9-12-1-0-3am) but you will need a old pc that is running windows XP 32-bit or use a virtual pc emulator. As this game does not work on windows 10 as far as I know... also even though website says it is for Mac PCs, it still works on windows.
I used a virtual PC with windows XP 32-bit installed onto it since it was the only way I was able to get it working. You can find the iso for it on a website called “myabandonware”

I never thought I would find what this game was called. Finally googled "90s educational pc game green horn spooky" and found it
Ha! Yes.
This is pretty much exactly how I found it!! Lol!

I typed in "Lydia the ghost computer game"
I remember joking with a friend how they should remake this game with Capcom's RE Engine and make it a survival horror
Super nostalgic! To be a kid again ❤️. Love the 90s.
Me too.

I like how Dr Dabble threatens Rave while he is sleeping not doing much to stop him.
Yea lol, I remember being scared of running into him while roaming around the house when I was younger. Only to find out he's always asleep in his room.
I miss this game so much! It helped me a lot to learn english with a good story and memorable characters! Rave rocks!

some people here be like "90s" and Im like damn, I was born in 2000 and we were playin this shit in like 2007/2008 on early Intel iMacs lmao
I always wondered about GEM and MEG. And how they could put such a goosebumps like story into the game. It's one of their best secrets.
For real. What does it even mean? Its almost like some parallel universe shenanigans.
In the dungeon game, players must find synonyms for the chosen word.
