Niceeee... I'm starting my dissertation proposal and my greatest challenge is that my university doesn't allow an audience to be present during other doctoral students' proposal defense, which means I can't observe, compare and learn from their presentations. This is going to help me a lot. Thanks!

Congratulations on obtaining your EdD degree from National American University. My student wanted to have a 15 minute PhD proposal defense, citing this video. Other dissertation proposal defenses on youtube seem to cluster closer to 30 minutes. Students should definitely check with their advisors prior to making any assumptions about customary lengths for proposal defenses in their programs.
Thanks for posting this. I have one question about the presentation styles though. Is it preferred to add more than 50 words in one slide? I have noticed that sometimes you add many words in one slide. Thanks
