Thanks Rob for doing this. As a 68 year old who took up guitar a year ago with private lessons (and no longer taking them) with foundational information and some overlapping, you’ve covered new information such as “elbow out” for the B7. And frankly a stroke of genius to practice chord shapes/progressions found common in songs you’ll eventually teach. Just a masterful method. I’ve watched both lessons now and will watch more. A “cup” of thanks for your lesson!

Thank you for this. I've been studying guitar since September 7,2023 . This video is helping me to truly assimilate and connect the chords I've learned. So frustrating to not be able to sing and play full songs yet. Bit by bit I'm adding daily. I think I need a better guitar 😂😂😂

I've been playing for COUGH! years now and that's the best beginner tutorial I've ever seen. Warm, friendly and practical with great delivery.
One thing I remember about first picking up the guitar was itchy finger tips, they drove me mad untill I discovered that rubbing them on a carpet or rug was the only way to cure it.
I've passed this tip to other beginners and everyone agrees, it works!

Hi just wanted to let you know how excited am to come across your channel!
So I’ve just moved from being so utterly bored with years of playing classical guitar and having memorised about 10 classical pieces, the idea of going for Grade 5 to play pieces more complex I don’t particularly like makes me feel sick! So I bought an electric guitar and so got an old acoustic to help me understand and make the transition. I can play most scales, I can read music, understand the circle of 5th and 4ths the other way, know my relative minors and write it out from memory… including order of shapes and flats.
So I watched some RUclips and Ive learned how to play triads on any 3 sets of strings, and can play major and minor pentatonics in all positions. And I now know my fret board and yep can do arpeggios reasonable well and understand chords and chords structure and can play all of them anywhere. I like studying.
Here’s the honest truth. I can’t play a single popular song! And my classical pieces I’ve played so often make me want to scream I’ve put so much effort and time into!
I just watched your video on Lagrima a piece I love and took so long to learn! Can’t believe I might do Cavatina! I just want to have fun and connect with music. It’s fabulous that you approach all styles. I hope you’ll do Delta blues too. Thank you for the inspiration.. can’t wait to get started playing stuff my soul connects too.

Brilliant lessons, I tried to learn the guitar 16 years ago, 1-2-1 guitar lessons, buying all the books, spent a year and never felt I progressed, so the guitar(s) went in the loft. I have picked them up again and I am beginning to see the holes in my education, thanks to these lessons :) Things I have now picked up on, which weren't explained clearly before, are areas like what strum count to change chord on, how to change chords, hold the guitar, what area on the finger you make contact with the strings, elbow position, etc. The video on what we lefties should consider when buying a guitar was also very good: still rubbish but enjoying the process.

Hi Rob, Just a quick thank you for your brilliant tutorial you did for the guitar version of Strawberry fields. Really enjoyed learning that. Fingers crossed there will be more Beatles tunes from you in the future.
