As a big Geowizard fan I was wondering how you would do this differently, the parallel two-line competition aspect is genius and a great twist. Well done mate!
I love that you described that apple as a 'russet', where anyone from outside Somerset woul have called it an 'apple'. My dad (a fruit tree grower from Somerset) would be proud of you guys.
I've now watched 3 non-GeoWizard straight line attempts and this one has to be the most entertaining of them, great work! Actually thinking about doing one as well in my municipality.
14:17 those red berries are actually hawthorn berries. They are perfectly edible as long as you watch out for the tooth shattering stone in the middle. Lots of red berries are edible but it is just safe to know what to pick. Some deadly berries like Belladonna are really black too so it isn't always the red ones

Plants wont help you survive they just bring more risk for little calories. Berries don't grow much, humans should be looking for insects and small game instead if they want to survive.
@@berternie6181 What about roots? For instance burdock root. Burdock root is full of calories, pignut is also really good for that. Are roots worth considering?

He has geowizard in the title so I reckon he'll get plenty of views. I got this video suggested to me as I've watched a couple of geowizard inspired straight line journeys in the last couple of days - so I reckon the video is probably starting to trend somewhat now.
Well I'm hoping you're looking back to your comment now in 2024. These guys definitely earned their place in the "British blokes do strange outdoor geography related challenges" community with lots of views incoming
I keep thinking how subversive these straight line missions are. All you do is walk in a straight line, not hurting anyone or anything, and the police and landowners are all like, "How dare you walk in a straight line in your own country. You should be punished."
@@NoJusticeMTG Also his new 'No Roads' mission is great. Why are cities built so that it is so difficult to walk and not be next to a road? I know Tom is more a man of action than philosophy, but his missions really make me think about how we've set up our country.

people do straight line missions.. but has anyone tried a circle mission? great thing about doing a perfect circle of whatever diameter you like, is you end up back at the start, where you parked your car.
Well this is entertaining. Not only did youse learn from Geowizard's repeated glove mistake, but youse even brought spares! With gloves, there is no straight-line mission on earth that can't be completed. Your friend Adam seems to constantly be getting the rough end of the stick lol.
Use the audio from the other person's video/mic when you're showing long shots of them from your PoV. That way we can hear what they're saying! its a shame because some of the places in the straight line missions seem like they would look nice in summer but its always done when the plants are dead.
What time of year is it there? Geowizard has always said he hasn't done any missions during the summer because the ferns and brambles get 3 metres high and if it was summer during this video I can understand why

90% of red/blue are edible, 90% of white/yellow are not. But, this is a kind of surival only thing you shouldn't rely on it otherwise.
