Huge thanks to everyone who’s watched and engaged in this series, especially my patreons. A lot of work goes into these series, so do drop me a like and subscribe if you want to show your appreciation. The line review video will drop next week, around the same time the bonus footage starts rolling in over on patreon. Till next time everyone.
If you continue these things I think it would be a good idea to bring some high vis or something. In your cammo you’re very well hidden from farmers, but you’re also pretty hidden from anyone who would be trying to look for and rescue you in the event of the worst happening.
The year is 2172. After 3 years in space, the British spacecraft Wizard 5 lands on humanity's new homeworld of GaiaX. As they land on the inhabited planet, the captain spots a lake with trees full of fruit on the other side. "Man", he says. "We need to get to the other side of that lake, we just need a raft of some kind". Suddenly the whole crew hears a sound from the bushes. It's Verity, and she's carrying a 2 ton raft, big enough for the whole crew to get across. "Here you go, I'll see you on the other side at camp 2a", she says, before trekking back 50km to her Terra Rover 8600, ready to drive 70km and trek another 50km of woods so she can deliver the crew some gummy bears for tomorrow.
Couple of tips from a soldier: 1. Change socks and drink water very often, every hour if possible. Good chance to recuperate and get a status report on progressing injuries (foot sores, ankles etc.) 2. When going to bed, wash yourself as best as possible (make sure to be dry of course), wet wipes can give a great sense of refreshment after a long day. (Don't forget to stretch)! 3. Buy foot-tape, adds a protective cloth between the shoe and your foot and severely lowers the risk of rashes and sores. 4. Pack everything high and tight, which means any heavy water bottles, sleeping bags, etc, should always be tightly packed far up in your rucksack. 5. Get a pair of proper marching boots with good ankle support. 6. In case of a rolled ankle, very very tightly tie your shoes around your ankle, helps prevent swelling and making the sprain even worse. Using the aforementioned tape can also work here. Anything to tightly squeeze your ankle will work. 7. ALWAYS have a tourniquet on you and learn how to use it. Easy to use, will save your life. In case you already apply these: Fantastic! But if not, these will greatly increase your chance of success! Love the videos mate, hope this helps.
I think the addition of a paper map and a compass would have helped after the GPS hiccup too. Set the bearing and walk to a feature along it. Good series though, very enjoyable to watch.
@@valentinaou6579 That would be painful and boring to watch. You could probably find a coast to coast line through Qatar through pure desert, avoiding all obstacles and making it a march across the desert and nothing more.
Incredible series. really amazing storytelling, lots of funny moments, and there is just something uniquely calming and beautiful about it despite all the constant stress and danger. There’s nothing else that really transports u the same way these missions do, and there is something that really resonates in a deeply human way about unwavering perseverance to accomplish something u believe in regardless of how arbitrary or weird it may sound. Hope u do another one after u have had enough time to heal up
Sweden has this law called Allemansrätt meaning, you can walk on fields and camp on private land (out of sight of houses ofc) only if you leave the site as it was when you came to it, basically as long you dont disturb you are allow to walk there. Would love to see a line mission of Sweden, its wider than most but even if it takes a day extra, i think the allemansrätt gives an advantage against the other missions.. Swedes are really hospitable too and will treat you to a fika if they see you walking pass..
RUclips is starting to recommend other smaller straight line mission videos which made me realise I've taken the quality of Tom's videos for granted. So much attention to detail and thought has gone into these projects. Planning, executing, recording everything, writing the narration and story, editing everything together in very engaging way and even creating an excellent soundtrack! Really appreciate this all and Verity's and Ben's efforts. This is on another level than anything else out there.
Well it was. The first bit of sea water they encountered on the line. From Google Earth I expected it to be more saltmarsh and less just grassy. It might have been good if they carried right on to open water but I think it would just turn to uncrossable mud pretty soon.
@@joshyaash Yeah man. Even if the beers had been piss warm and tasted like shit. After enduring only half of what Ben and Tom went through on that day alone, it still would've been the best beer they ever had.
What truly captivated me about these missions is that Tom needs to truly be a Swiss Army knife throughout the whole process. He starts out with an unbelievable amount of planning and due diligence when mapping out countless lines and choosing the most optimal one. This is both quantitative and qualitative, and understanding the best line involves physically scouting and exploration on its own. Next, Tom needs to plan his itinerary. Day by day, mile by mile, meal by meal, and hedgerow by hedgerow. Before his trip, he organizes his gear, communicates backup plans and meeting locations with Verity. The last step is execution. On one hand, this is a grueling physical feat. Ravines, bogs, rivers, and hedgerows can lead to sprained ankles or worse. With that said, the impressive part for me is the human aspect of it. Tom understands that - even if every step of the way goes right - one farmer can throw off the entire trip. He carefully plans out his apparel to appear important, but harmless. He needs to be able to adapt and explain himself out of sticky situations. After his journey is over and hopefully successful, Tom consolidates countless hours of footage into the most entertaining, consumable journeys for his audience. He accompanies this footage with his own mystifying, addicting, and perfectly appropriate music. Tom is a man of many talents. With all of that said, thank you for reading my comment and P.S., the best part of the video is between 0:00 and 41:54.
Insane of Ben to just last through all off this on his first try. Dudes an absolute machine. Also i feel like he has some sort of eagle eye. He spotted so much stuff throughout the trip. Also mad respect to Tom for getting through most of this WITH A ROLLED ANKLE. You really achieved something incredible here👍
Hi there! I know you must be debating with yourself regarding the purity of the line but, what you've accomplished goes so much beyond that! You've proved to the world that adventure and exploration does not necessarly mean climbing up the mount Kilimanjaro, and that although we are used to our tamed man made hospitable environment, it only requires to go a little bit off track to realise that we are close to nothing in comparison to "mother earth". I'm so impressed by your determination, and I feel this series is even more complete and extraordinary because of the past "failures", it makes it an even greater accomplishment! Congratulations!
Great comment. Treks up famous mountains and the like also require a lot of money - more than most have. As far as I know Tom's not a secret millionaire so his kind of adventuring really is open to most. Love it.
@@Reagusmage coming back to the line is fine, just imagine how many different reasons there could be to leave the line, should that ruin a whole adventure?
It makes me chuckle when Tom gets annoyed for slightly deviating from the line. It’s like mate give yourself a break you’ve just walked across a fucking country 😂😂
@@digitaldistribution487 1* day, and only because of the gps fucking up. Waiting for you're straight line mission though. You'll do it one day naked walking through farmers houses though I'm sure.
The "teleported ourselves over the railway track" was my favourite line of this whole third attempt! I just this week went through and watched all previous attempts for the first time, so knowing the context of the Scotland trip so fresh was brilliant!
@@Joepug96 they shot a video of them crossing a train track, but the police asked them to take the video down specifically that section. So in this trip, they just don’t take a video of them crossing it. Hence the teleport joke
Beautiful series as always Tom, definitely a success in my book. That escape from the angry farmer and getting lost in the woods are some of the wildest moments I've seen out of all of these series, really gets your heart racing! Can't fathom experiencing it first hand, massive props to you and Ben and Verity!
I've told so many of my film making friends about these straight line missions. How it's got all the ingredients of great story telling, a protagonist with a clear goal battling against unforeseen obstacles. But to make it even more exciting there's no hollywood promise of a happy ending and it's all very real. Makes for some of the best entertainment I've ever seen. Very very well done! Huge Congratulations!
Do a straight line mission across Croatia, its got thin spots where there is just like 35km from border to coast and there is a bonus hazard in form of minefields which is still much better than those bog petles
1000% a success Tom 🎉 You, Ben, and Verity are absolute legends and this series was a complete joy (and simultaneously very stressful lol) to watch. Your narrative storytelling is as stellar as your adventuring skills brother, this content is better than 99.9% of whats out there right now. Love your adventures, love your Geoguessing, love your music. Would love to get a pint if we ever find ourselves in your neck of the woods, and cheers all the wonderful successes you've shared with us all 🍻 Thank you for entertaining us mate!
It's not though. Using this idea that you can stop and restart, why didn't he just continue from where the first or second attempt failed? The reason is obvious - people would say that it didn't count.
@@tomcartwright7283 Paul eats straight line missions for breakfast, Tom... But seriously, there is some debate as to the "authenticity" of this straight line mission. I personally think it counts as a massive win, however, it's probably a bit of a shame that it couldn't be done in one go as planned. Regardless of the completion status, I think being able to do it in one go is "better" but does not invalidate this win at all.
Im sorry but i burst out it in laughter when he fell down that branch in a straight line🤣 What amazing mission this was and thank you for giving us the best youtube content ive ever seen. To many more 🎉and Ben and Verity are also legends💪🏼

Earlier this month I lost my dad to a short illness & it’s been so hard deal with the grief & everything else that comes with losing a loved one who was such a huge part of your life, but being able to forget everything for 30 to 40 minutes or so a week & get lost in the antics of a couple of blokes hilariously hacking their way through the Welsh countryside & running from farmers…well, what more can I say, you’ve helped to get me through this & I can’t thank you enough! Keep doing what you do, because I can’t wait for the next mission!
This series is what made me lose weight. I was 225 when this started, im now 195, and all it took is what your doing man, going on adventures, traveling land, running, jogging, walking up big hills. Your an inspiration man, ill never think of this as a failure, what you did alone was legendary!

I'm now nearing 30 years old and sitting at a comfortable 16st(224lb) for my height 6,4 ft. Well done man, I know what it takes.
This was absolutely incredible. The music is banger, Ben and Verity were amazing, and the storytelling and flow is just perfect. Absolutely legendary - not one moment was slow. I can’t wait to watch it again after some time passes. It’s also crazy to think that this is just one line of thousands. Really opens up our eyes to how much of the world is out there to explore. If you do go out again, don’t forget to get a satellite phone and be safe. 🔥 In the meantime, keep it up. Definitely one of the coolest things… Ever.
Definitely a success. These videos were so good (can’t believe the footage is so quality) and everyone made it home safe. Really glad Day 3 did work itself out. I can’t imagine the amount of memories and bonding that came from it all and that’s priceless.

You now have many ways to categorise the success of the mission based on "what counts as a straight line" etc. I'd quite like it now if you came up with some similar criteria for "what counts as the coast" For me, the crab is an essential criteria. Superb series again. Loved it!
@@sclurbs4298 yep! As far as I'm concerned, if you've found a crab you're either at the coast or an aquarium and that doesn't look like the Sealife Centre to me!
Not to be that kind of guy, but freshwater crabs do exist! For example this species from southern Europe: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potamon_fluviatile Terrestrial crabs exist as well, but not in Europe haha :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrestrial_crab
When I saw them reach the thin line of an estuary, I assumed that they'd have to go the remaining few miles to a more obvious shore. But then when the crab was there I was convinced; this is 100% legitimate.
34:00 My favourite moments of this series are probably the moments where you just tackled a horrific obstacle and you're like there better not be one more like these and then you cut to "oh fck" 😂😂😂
Hi Tom! Really fun watching! I work with forest inventory in Sweden and there is a lot of similarities with your missions. Back in the days we covered the land by measuring all trees along a number of completely straight lines across each part of the country. Nowadys we still following a straight line, but in a quadratic form so every quadrat can be done in a full 10 hour workday. Nice job!
I really hope he keeps doing them, I know they take an insane amount of effort with planning, executing, editing, etc. But this is literally the best content on youtube in my opinion and honestly I think lots of other people would love to see him try again. Amazing work!!
It might not be a proper successful straight line crossing, but huge respect for tackling the last leg anyway. If that had happened to be, I'd be making a straight line mission to the pub instead.

Man I hope to god this isn't the last one, I can't miss the best series on youtube man. After seeing this though I definitely get why you dont really feel like it anymore 😂😂 Gg mate
I'm a silent watcher and I'm always looking forward for you guys adventures. This has been probably the most successful straight line ever done by the channel.
The amount of skill and effort put into this adventure is immense. Trekking, Climbing, Floating, Running (away from farmers), Crawling... hell, even Teleporting!
What you've done here Tom is indeed walk across Wales in a straight line. There is no doubting that, I can see the line, like you said you've walked every step of it. You have 100% walked across Wales in a straight line. But NOT in one sitting. For exmaple I know people who have walked the entire coastal path of Wales, by going to seperate stretches throughout their lives and walking bits here and there. But I don't know a single person who's done it in one sitting. That would be insane. So yes, you've definately walked across Wales in a straight line, well done, congrats. Appreciation to both Verity and Ben. Verity is litterally a god send, you're very lucky to have found someone who puts up with your shit 😂though I'm sure she enjoys it really. And Ben was a great addition to the mission. FInally, please do not stop. When you said the last line I audibly shouted "YES!" and clapped my hands. These are genuinly incredible series. Absolutely fascinating, truly absurd, really an iconic series. I get these are super hard so maybe try think of an equally absure mission that might be a little lighter on your bodies but yea please just keep doing adventures of some kind. They truly are fascinating. Well done ol bean and I'll continue to watch everything and share as much as I can! Congrats!
I don't think he really succeeded in reaching the end of wales. He should've really aimed for open waters/true coast. If he jumped across that channel he would still be in wales, there were a few more miles to go.
When you hike the Appalachian Trail in it's entirety, you can faithfully say you hiked the whole thing. Now if pressed for details there's two categories; thru-hikers and section hikers. Thru hikers do it in one season. But no one's going to say shit if you hiked for a month, took off to go to a Vegas wedding, flew back and got back on where you left off. Still a thru-hike. Section hiking, you do it over the course of the years/decades. They're both major accomplishments IMO.
Hello! I'm Tom 😊 (also Tom Davies, weirdly!) Now you've met (well sort of!) somebody who has walked the entire coast of Wales in one go 😊 I solo hiked the Welsh perimeter (1100 miles) in 63 days in 2016. Greatest adventure of my life! 100% doable if you have the time and something I would recommend to anybody! There are about 100 of us now, I believe, who have completed the perimeter in one go 😊 The straight line mission is another beast! We all had public footpaths and roads most of the way. This Tom Davies is insane!
Honestly insane that you guys made it through all that, Wales seems to always find some new ridiculous obstacle for you guys. I feel like these straight Line missions are by far the best content on RUclips I have watched keep it up and celebrate you are amazing!
At this point, I get goosebumps from your music. I watched these missions when I was generally doing poorly, then when I was on an exchange across the atlantic, and now, doing well, today. But your straight line missions and their music never stopped being soothing and... jolly? I can't explain it. It's such a fitting contrast to the mission itself and what you guys must be going through at that moment. But it reflects my utter comfiness at home watching, and it shows me you also feel that way about it afterwards while editing. And at this point it is nostalgic for me. I agree with what other commenters said, this feels really unique and I love it :)
I'm still proposing Luxembourg as a doable interesting next challenge. East to west it's about 30-50km depending on the exact route or for a more challenging adventure north south which is around 70-80km
One of the many things that I like about this series is it showcases places that humans haven't visited in a while, if ever. Most of the land these guys traverse is just straight up uninhabitable to people. Truly feels like they're trekking the unknown.
@@verinonrenthar9176 look up a video called forests in the olden days. These days forests are generally taken care of every few years or less. Nothing major, but stuff like removing trees and such. It's still cool that he shows places that get visited very rarely tho.
I love that your brother was there to knock some sense into you to take the meds for your ankle when you wanted to tough it out. He really didn't deserve to get electrocuted. Congrats on the successful journey!!
Amazing series, I've been following along ever since your first attempt to cross a country in a straight line! I think there is definitely a difference between an interrupted and an uninterrupted line being completed. However, I just see it as two different categories! It is no more arbitrary than the set deviations between platinum and gold runs. Clearly an uninterrupted platinum run would be the best outcome, but we don't always get the best outcomes in life :) Congratulations, you've done it!!!
Always so melancholy when you guys finish a mission. The success of completion contrasted with the sadness knowing this will be the last straight line mission vid for a while.

Never been so eager for new episodes of anything in my life than I have been with all of your series! bloody great work lads! Eageraly awaiting the next one !!
The production of these videos and series are fantastic. The fear, excitement, mischievousness and relief all come across in the narrative and it really is a pleasure to watch. If this does happen to be your last (and I sincerely hope it isn't), it must be said that this was brilliant. It absolutely had it all.
This mission was absolutely epic. Definitely a success in my book. Your story-telling and narrative is fantastic and I'm amazed how you manage to film so much and make such compelling videos with 4:3 GoPro footage! Shoutout to Ben and of course Verity for their efforts. Absolute heroes!
Well done on making it That was quite a journey and the land around here in powys is no mean feat to cross, let alone doing it in a straight line. My famlies love of Wales started in Furnace the Hamlet you crossed on the A478. The house to the south of the bungalow is called Plas Einion (pronounced eye-nee-on), it used to be a school journey center owned by my old primary school. My year group was one of the last to go in 1992 as it was sold and converted into flats a few years later, I randomly met a lady who lives there on a trip to Birmingham and have been back to visit in 2019. Watching you walk along the Afron (River) Einion bought back a lot of memories. we used to do a river walk from the source for a few miles, imagine 30 inner city london 10 year old kids being allowed to do that now with H&S haha. I was always the 1st kid to jump in. If you don't do a mission across wales again I'd recommend a river walk from he source of the Einion to the Dyfi. I'd love to join you, it would be a trip down memory lane for me and I live about an hours drive from there outside Rhayader. Loved watching all 3 missions across Wales and hope you come back soon. If I catch you walking across my farm I wont be an angry farmer.
What a wonderful series! Through your videos I can really appreciate what Wales has to offer. Even though I'm not from uk (or even Europe), I truly enjoyed watching and discovering the moorlands, forest and nature of Wales through your eyes! I also truly loved the story telling! Even though English isn't my first language, I definitely appreciated the rich and vast use of adjectives just to make the narrative more interesting, which isn't usual in videos nowadays. Even I learned some new words too! Just having those kind of adventures making me wonder sometimes how much time we spent our free time instead of enjoying the nature and those landscapes! I'm pretty sure you, Ben and your girlfriend will treasure these moments! Looking forward for your next adventures and the review video! Cheers mate! Pd: when I watch your videos it looks like you're going through some tomb raider-esque or uncharted-esque adventure!
Congrats on the success. I'd call it a success. When faced with safety/mission success/technical issues that jeopardize the mission, it always makes sense to choose the safest route. Unfortunately what you did was a necessity that couldn't be avoided. If you were summitting Mount Everest and had to turn around at camp 1 to go back down to base camp, but then returned to camp 1 the next day and continued to summit I don't think anyone would question the validity of the summitting. That said, if I were you I wouldn't be satisfied with the victory--well I would be, obviously, it's a great achievement, but it wouldn't be enough for me. I would definitely be working toward a straight line mission in one go, no deviating, no leaving the line due to technical issues, nothing. That's the coup de grace for all of this, and I do believe it is well within your grasp. Bravo Tom and Ben, to a wonderful mission success. Can't wait for the next one
THANK you Tom, for this amazing series. It baffles me everytime, that this is FREE for me to watch. It matches any survival shows out there easily, but with the added spice of your humor, and the amazing 16-bit music. I was crying tears of laughter through the last 20 minutes lol. I cannot wait to see what adventure you will be on next, hopefully some with Greg as well! I miss you guys crossing Europe in a weird way, maybe once covid pisses off, you guys can do that again haha. Thank you for giving some amazing content throughout covid, really fucking appreciated.
Such an incredible series. Been watching the channel ever since I got recommended the first straight line mission a couple weeks after its release. And these missions are so impressive. There have been many great points but certainly also many low, and I'd say unfortunate points, as well. Truly some amazing content and incredible accomplishment, especially considering all the other straight line missions. Well done mate

In this journey, you have experienced every single challenge and hardship that I had been through when I worked in a forest inventory and analysis job as a forest engineer. I also was electrocuted from those fences, lol. We were using the same GPS and faced the low battery problem in the middle of the forest many times. We got soaking wet from the heavy rain so badly. We had to speak to weird people when we came up to their fields. Most annoyingly, we had to walk through the densest bushes such as brambles and Rhododendrons for hours. Fortunately, you didn't encounter a bear or dogs.(we had to handle those kinds of situations everyday.) Anyway, I really appreciate your effort guys! Congratulations!
Denmark is too densely populated unfortunately, I have contemplated it myself as a dane, but unfortunately there is no way to cross it in a straight line without hitting an actual town.

Honestly, I'd watch videos of you lot just doing long hikes or mountain climbing. I just like seeing someone deal with nature while I sit in my warm house in my comfy chair.
Honestly, this is basically long trail hiking, but not on any trail, and in an arbitrary line and specifically hyped up as “a straight line across a country” for sensationalist purposes

Amazing work Tom! The fact that you went back and continued where you left off, where most people would just go from the general area, took real compassion. Congrats to both you and Ben!
Late to the party, but this series was incredible. Astonishing stuff, that was absolutely a success and you guys are tough as nails for getting through it. Blimey.
I'm really happy for you Tom, this is a great achievement. I have multiple things in my life that I'm trying to achieve, I pray that one day I can feel what you and your brother felt completing this massive journey. See you on the next one!
Without question the most enjoyable series on YT. As are all of your straight line missions... immensely enjoyable. And I will be watching them over again without doubt. As for the mission, complete success in my opinion. When health and safety are at a crucial stage, you must do what's right. But picking up the line where you left off, was absolute right thing to do and I'd like to wish you and Ben the very best and a massive congrats. Truly fantastic effort and I really do hope we see more missions in the near future. Just terrific.
The editing for this series has been to notch. It makes me feel like I'm making the same real time decisions as you and getting the same relief or dread when reaching new terrain.
40 minutes passed so quickly. Speaks only for the great content you produce. The parts you chose to include, the storytelling, the music. All fits perfectly. Really hope to see another mission one day soon, or anything similar. BTW, how do you keep physically fit for those missions?
Huge thanks to everyone who’s watched and engaged in this series, especially my patreons. A lot of work goes into these series, so do drop me a like and subscribe if you want to show your appreciation.

This is absolutely pin worthy.
And all that while reading her book :)

Couple of tips from a soldier:
1. Change socks and drink water very often, every hour if possible. Good chance to recuperate and get a status report on progressing injuries (foot sores, ankles etc.)

RUclips is starting to recommend other smaller straight line mission videos which made me realise I've taken the quality of Tom's videos for granted. So much attention to detail and thought has gone into these projects. Really appreciate this all and Verity's and Ben's efforts. This is on another level than anything else out there.

Yep. I looked for more LINE videos hooting to see more at the same quality, because it’s a fantastic idea. Haven’t found one yet.
I laughed out loud when you looked down at that puddle and said "that's the coast"
Well it was. The first bit of sea water they encountered on the line. From Google Earth I expected it to be more saltmarsh and less just grassy. It might have been good if they carried right on to open water but I think it would just turn to uncrossable mud pretty soon.
A tad anticlimactic.

@@Ultraw Oh right, what video was that?

Beautifully put
Great comment. Treks up famous mountains and the like also require a lot of money - more than most have. As far as I know Tom's not a secret millionaire so his kind of adventuring really is open to most. Love it.
Yeah, but he still failed
@@Reagusmage coming back to the line is fine, just imagine how many different reasons there could be to leave the line, should that ruin a whole adventure?

Huge Congratulations!

Spot on mate was just thinking how genius this series is and the way it's crafted
Do a straight line mission across Croatia, its got thin spots where there is just like 35km from border to coast and there is a bonus hazard in form of minefields which is still much better than those bog petles
That sounds exciting. 1+ from me.

You now have many ways to categorise the success of the mission based on "what counts as a straight line" etc. I'd quite like it now if you came up with some similar criteria for "what counts as the coast"
For me, the crab is an essential criteria.
Superb series again. Loved it!
Here here! Seen a lot of grief about the end point but a crabs a crab!
@@sclurbs4298 yep! As far as I'm concerned, if you've found a crab you're either at the coast or an aquarium and that doesn't look like the Sealife Centre to me!
Not to be that kind of guy, but freshwater crabs do exist! For example this species from southern Europe: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potamon_fluviatile
Terrestrial crabs exist as well, but not in Europe haha :)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrestrial_crab
When I saw them reach the thin line of an estuary, I assumed that they'd have to go the remaining few miles to a more obvious shore. But then when the crab was there I was convinced; this is 100% legitimate.
Keep going straight!
In all honesty... great work, lads!
Damn straight!

It made me laugh so much
Nice job!
Cool!
Well then I guess Tom will never be able to be the first person to cross Sweden, sadly.
I really hope he keeps doing them, I know they take an insane amount of effort with planning, executing, editing, etc. But this is literally the best content on youtube in my opinion and honestly I think lots of other people would love to see him try again. Amazing work!!
Too right! Best content!
yeah literally hope there is more even smaller missions!
It might not be a proper successful straight line crossing, but huge respect for tackling the last leg anyway. If that had happened to be, I'd be making a straight line mission to the pub instead.
I do that every day. (The pub is across the street)
I love how it feels like a dream when water gets on the camera and makes it blurry
Great series, hope to see more in the future!

Nah man you know Welsh Greg will want a shot at one
Hopefully this channel inspires others to attempt their own straight-line challenges!
Don’t forget about Omar, the gradient boi
There are about 100 of us now, I believe, who have completed the perimeter in one go 😊
The straight line mission is another beast! We all had public footpaths and roads most of the way. This Tom Davies is insane!

Problem with Luxembourg is it probably a bit too densely populated so any straight line you make will go right through a lot of houses
A bit further North the Netherlands might be doable but there's an extremely narrow range you could do while safely crossing the A2.
Someone already did it.
@@lhaviland8602 who?

One of the many things that I like about this series is it showcases places that humans haven't visited in a while, if ever. Most of the land these guys traverse is just straight up uninhabitable to people. Truly feels like they're trekking the unknown.
not quite true, pretty much every forest in the UK is maintained, with dead trees being removed and other things.

Man I desire your vocabulary man 😂 How you find an accurate word for every twig and rock is insane
You make it look so easy. Can only imagine how physically gruelling this is to cross a country on foot.
36:37 Absolutely amazing! I hope you can share how you teleported with us!
Scotland Police wants to know your location.
Absolutely love this series.
The one in Norway was amazing too.
I think that you could easily do one of Denmark and Sweden as well
Denmark is too densely populated unfortunately, I have contemplated it myself as a dane, but unfortunately there is no way to cross it in a straight line without hitting an actual town.
@@pietandersen6120 And Sweden is way too wide. You'd have to trekk through +200 kms of forests and lakes unless you want to cheat a little and cross Skåne or smthing
@@pietandersen6120 but in Denmark are not common fenced farms and fields or are they? With 25m tolerance it could be doable in north (maybe...)
A straight line mission needs to start at a border (so you cant just cross a tiny bit of land between two seas), so denmark doesn't work
@@Redddragon Jutland borders Germany.
36:08, I'm so sorry but this was too funny hahah. Thank you for another amazing Straight Line Series, I'm really looking forward to what you're gonna do next!
You are just amazing at this Tom. Cheers to you, Ben and the all mighty Varity. Thanks for a new amazing series! Love from Chile (here, this might even be impossible).
What a great journey, filled with moments of hardship and relief.
Love the work and congrats on the accomplishment.
One of the best series of any kind. Absolute insane Tom, you 3 did great!
Coming from Australia, watching you push through those swampy reeds at the end, all I could think of was Tiger Snakes...
Hell of an effort boys
Nothing in there wants to kill you (maybe some farmers or dogs, but no wildlife at least)
@@leoisso7033 A lot of people don't know this, but snakes definitely exist in the UK. A bite from an adder probably won't kill you, but it'll send you to hospital for sure.
@@AAARREUUUGHHHH hospital? Christ bit of duct tape on it and carry on mate. Call 111 for a few paracetamol if your lucky
Literally first thought I had too. If I was a red belly, that’s where I’d live
@@thembrown Uh, no, hospital. What is it with you tough guy weirdos? If you're bitten by any animal that isn't a fly, you go to hospital. Tetanus will kill you real quick. NHS will keep you in hospital for 24 hours if you've been bitten by a snake. So no, not "duct tape and paracetamol". Stop giving people bad advice that could lead to their death.
