Following a few successful years of straight line missioning inspired by Geowizard, we decided to branch out into an all new field of the sport: Straight Line Cycling!
We were aiming for a factor of 100 of a walking Straight Line Mission. That might sound like a lot but it turned out to be extremely challenging as you'll see!
Next video: swimming across the Atlantic ocean in a straight line.

Excellent idea. My wife and I created our own F2F (Fishguard to Felixstowe) route which runs West East through our home. All minor roads, cycle routes etc.

Referring to people’s homes as “skanky” isn’t really on guys. Long time viewer and subscriber here, you guys come across as very well spoken and educated - possibly from quite an affluent background. Not everyone is as fortunate. Stay humble guys. Much love
Totally agree, I think we have found your blind spot. The houses you label as skanky are pretty typical of many houses your viewers live in. Really tone deaf comments, do better
I was about to comment something very similar, I'm fairly well off in my life at the moment but I grew up poor, single mum, not a very nice house etc... It's not a choice haha

Totally agreed. I enjoy your content, but found the skanky house comment a tad offensive. Not everyone was born with a silver spoon in their mouth! I have just purchased my housing association house and it wasn't easy working hard for years saving as much as I could for a better life. Just a little thought for those less fortunate.

Feels somewhat harsh to ride past peoples houses shouting about how skanky they are, even if they were quite rough.
If they didn't want to live in that house they should just ask daddy to buy them a bigger, nicer one.
The irony is that I'm fairly sure that was Burton-in-Kendal or Milnthorpe (there's not many villages it could have been and they show a satellite image of Burton straight after)
Both are pretty desirable villages - not necessarily loaded but far from the worst places in Cumbria let alone the country...

A few minutes in and this is hilarious. The mispronunciation of Silloth and Keswick (I'm local) and the fact they're on cheap, ill-prepared and ill-suited bikes. Genius! I'm sure they could make longer episodes though! I was wondering only few days ago if/when they might upload again...
Can't believe how crap the bikes are! Would be a difficult challenge on decent gravel or xc bikes!

Yeh - Free spirited and don’t care what people think, wanting to push themselves through difficult challenges, creating interesting content that aren’t the day in the life of, or eating videos, that’s how everyone should be like I feel.

I'm from a place of relative privilege myself but have lived on both sides of the bread line. The part where you commented on the "skanky" houses did rub me up the wrong way a little. It's one thing to say it subtly amongst mates, but to shout it loudly as you go past and then upload it to RUclips for the world to see isn't really on.

Suggestion to not go to go to a convenience store for lunches, but eat a local eateries, not for your sake just for the viewing experience. If we are stopping in a random town on challenges, I want to know what they have to offer.

Pretty sure most people don't think and say that, or if they do at least they think and say it privately instead of going around filming someone's home and put the footage online saying it's skanky to an audience of 37k.
I have done a lot of bike touring and can attest whatever the route this is a big test, especially on those bikes so kudos.

They said under 2500 meters deviation for platinum so I'd assume 2500 - 5000 for gold, 5000 - 7500 for silver and 7500 - 10000 for bronze

Slow down and tell a story. A 5K across line really gives you a lot of leeway and this does not feel like much of a challenge. Maybe narrow it down. It would also be interesting to have some challenges or competition in this format.

Good stuff! You've reminded me of Nick Crane's book two degrees west, which is the same concept except that he walks south through England following his longitude without deviating more than 0.5 degrees.

Turns out Russell Cook was the first to run length of Africa in a perfectly straight line (+-250 miles for platinum run)

Guys, you're doing great adventures but the videos have lackluster storytelling and feel rushed. Maybe try to get someone involved with an editing/storytelling background
Lol, road bikes trying to do off-roading but it makes for good viewing 😅. A good mtn bike would be a better all rounder to use from roads to trails or a fat bike, you can average up to 35 km/hr or more depending on gearing and weight of bike and your fitness.

Hey guys, this series idea is a great one and seems really fun. Unfortunately as many other commenters have already stated, your comments, though obviously supposed to be humorous, were pretty disrespectful. This issue is further made worse by the fact that you havent responded to ANY of the comments mentioning it and have only liked the comments that are wholly positive. I think what you have done is pretty disingenuous; befriended GeoWizard and his audience and now when you know that the partnership between you two is over, you start indirectly insulting your new follower base. Not nice. I'm unsubscribing because despite enjoying your content, it's not worth giving ad revenue to people who have such little empathy or morals. Ally's Adventures is a FAR better adventure channel than yours, plus he is actually respectful too. Too bad he doesnt upload regularly.
