I am also proud of it as I made a lot of translations for the Prague Zoo (German, English). And by chance I lived also several years in Troja, directly at the zoo. But I lived also in 12 other places in Prague. Now I am back in Germany and miss the beautiful young ladies which are so typical for Prague. PS. Prague zoo truly does belong to one of the best zoos , and I do speak not only from the visitors point , but in the first place as a zoologist and former zookeeper, who visited myself my fair share of world's and Europe´s best zoos . Is there also space for improvement? Sure , as it is in nearly every zoo even the newer ones . The work is never done and I knew the zoo from before the flood , incredible work was done there in short time . Not to mention great breeding successes and projects to safe wildlife all around the world . Definitely one of the top 10 zoos in Europe, for sure. As Chester zoo and Zoo Leipzig are and few others
17:32 Fun fact about this exhibition. This is the oldest enclosure in the zoo. It was opened in 1931 and earlier history pandas were preceded by wolves and bears. The railing located at the front of the paddock is original and has not been changed over the years as far as I know.
Growing up in Prague visiting the zoo every other month. This is such a beautiful look back after I moved out. Thank you for the detailed description and beautiful experience looking back
I am local so call me biased but I always make time to see a zoo in a country I visit so I’ve seen London, New York, San Diego, Copenhagen, Berlin, Amsterdam and no place felt like the animals got better care than in Prague. Their enclosures were much smaller on the whole, and if you are horrified by the old polar bear enclosure in Prague (which is legit, although also a very old one and maybe it was colder back then or people just didn’t care), I don’t know what you’d say about San Diego polar bears who bake in full southern California sun.
They're building a new polar bear enclosure (called Arktida) right now, fortunately. The old enclosure is nearly a century old at this point and according to the Prague Zoo director, they're all ashamed of it.
I dont live in Prague but I am Czech and I've been to this ZOO multiple times. I love it, it's a great ZOO. My hometown, Chomutov, also has a ZOO called Podkrušnohorský zoopark. It's kind of on a lower level of zoos, but area-wise, it is the largest ZOO in the Czech republic and includes a Eurosafari.
I've also been to Chomutov this year. I think it's a bit of a mixed bag, but overall a very interesting and special park and especially the safari was a great experience. It will be a while before the video comes out, though. 😅
Prague Zoo has a wild colony of European Ground Squirrels. I loved the new gorilla enclosure. I never spend too much time looking at great apes, but it was really pleasurable to spend two hours there and watch them. I agree with all your negative points about the zoo, but you can see the great effort being made to push the zoo forward. I simply cannot stop loving it.
Fun facts from the Prague zoo the awful polar bear enclosure is awful but it is here where the first polar bear (in captivity) had breeding success, his caretaker had the cubs at home for Christmas so that he could feed them, second the reason why there was so many little komodos is that one guy didn't spot a batch of eggs that the komodo laied and they hatched and lastly the Prague zoo has also a huge reserve for the przevalsky horses next to Prague and a huge part of the horses reintroduced to Mongolia were bred in czechia
24:08 American bisons, Camels etc. - a new exhibition complex is planned there (for Rhinoceros unicornis, Tapirus indicus and many other species). As you mentioned - it is the highest point of the area. A large part of the Prague Zoo is made up of natural rock massifs. There is a great lack of water in this part of the area. That is why the new Gobi project also includes things that are not visible at all. For example, the Gobi construction included a giant water reservoir that will ensure a completely new water management in this area. So in the future it will be possible to transform the old part of the zoo according to modern requirements - spacious grassy enclosures, water ponds, water areas (tapirus, tigers, rhinos, birds) etc.
15:35 Rákos house - a breeder of rare birds and a great bird expert, after his death, bequeathed 400.000 Eur to Prague Zoo. They used this money to build a modern pavilion for rare parrots.
Its nice to see a complete overview of the zoo after so many years. It develops very well, some mentioned it develops rather slowly, I wouldnt agree to them because most of german zoos are even slower and the Prague Zoo is able to spend a lot of money for immersive areas which others can't. I see the zoo at top 20 in europe, but maybe top 10 or better in a few years. Thanks for the overview @experiencethezoo 😊
What timing. Just watched your other video and now this. :) Prague Zoo has probably been one of my absolute favorite zoo visits, so looking forward to get your tour around it. Thanks for this.
Prag seems to be a very good Zoo. I am so glad to see your first Videos from Chech Zoos. Hopefully I will visit some of them too. There are so many rare and interesting animals. My first one could be Zoo Na Hrádečku, because it is one of the nearest for me and there are some rare species. Recently the got brown hyenas .
The Brazilian flags are kinda stupid, they were put there while the zoo presented the extremely rare Brazilian mergansers living just next to shoebills, but they kept the flags there even after the event and there is no big sign explaining the rareness and beauty of the mergansers, just a standard small zoo sign which is a shame in my opinion.
Sichuan Pavilion is a zoonerd must :) About the flags. They recently acquired a duck species that is currently being held only in Prague and one zoo in Brasil. Prague Zoo and Tierpark are my absolute tops in Europe. Haven't seen some of the France Zoos tho
I really liked your comment on the Indonesian jungle. I am a regular visitor and remember the old monkey house, so I was excited about this pavilon back then. My first impression even then was that this is much better suited for visitors than the actual animals.
Well you forgot to mention that it is regarded as one of the best because of it's breeding successes, that are often really rare, also there is really big fight with Prague city, which doesn't really like a zoo so any possible upgrades are taking long time to realise and are most of the time funded from normal citizens (zoo's director Bobek is something writing about this on hos personal FB) and if I compare it with it's closest zoo of similar size (Berlin) which i visited a few months ago, that Berlin is like 10 times worse (by food, facilities size, and variety of animals) only think that they have are pandas.
There are Brazilian flags (nearby the African shoebills) because of the absolutely unique group of Brazilian merganser (Mergus octosetaceus) situated in the next pond exposure - the only few birds of this critically endangered species living out of Brazil, situated in Prague thanks to the long term succesful support from the zoo to the Brazilian ornitologists to save this species from extinction. This Brazilian aviary treasure was introduced to the visitor in spring 2024 (when the flags were raised nearby).
This is my "core memories" ZOO, so it's the best for me and I haven't seen any better since I am not a ZOO pro. Most smaller ZOOs I saw were more cubicle-like than Prague ZOO. But I agree there were always some boring places you kind of rush through.
10:25 Brazilian flags - The bird wetland - Zoo Praha is the only one in Europe with Mergus octosetaceus. Celebration of opening their enclosure included flags, dancers in costumes, brazilian ambassador etc.
For quite a while now I always wanted to visit Prague and Pilsen Zoo. While I was a bit turned off by what I saw in your video about Pilsen, after this I really want to go to Prague Zoo now as soon as possible. So many fascinating species that I'd love to see!
Some of the older areas are underwhelming yes, but I think they are slowly working on expanding and making everything better, though the most needed reconstructions (like the polar bears) take precedent before many of the hoofed exhibits. I generally love the Zoo, it's a full days visit worthy size and enjoyment vise.
It really is❤️, I love going here in the spring when the chicks are born... there is also a cable car, there used to be bird aviaries underneath it, so you "flew" above them.. It's one of the most beautiful places in Prague❤️.
The Tasmanian devil encosure is fairly new, they transported them to prague only few weeks ago and they need to be in a quarantine until january. So next time you visite, you'll surely see them :)
Isn't it from 2020? I mean I did say I didn't see them, but when I edited the video I found out I was wrong. I did infact see a sleepy one, that I also show in the video. :D
@@experiencethezoo It is. The species is fairly short lived though, so from the original 4 non-breeding individuals, only one is still alive and new animals are being brought.
What I love the most about Prague zoo is that the enclosures are made FOR ANIMALS, and not for people. What I mean is that for example I was in Vienna zoo this year and I really didn’t like it, because the enclosures for animals are too small so there is higher possibility to see the animals for people and animals doesn’t have a lot of place to hide
Komodo dragons are pretty good climbers when they are young. Since other komodo dragons see them as food, the safest area is up in the trees. Later in life they probably climb less, due to their weight, but i gues they never forget what they once learned. With giant salamanders the problem with breeding those, is because there are several subspecies, which are not really compatibel with each other. There are breeding projects for those in China, but since they just grabbed all the giant salamanders they could get their hands on, and threw them all in the same enclosure, there were little breeding success, and most of them ended up in hybrids, that were not able to survive outside the breeding facilities. Probably one of the problems the zoo has too.
I love this so i bin in 58 different zoo's and it is with burgers zoo ( netherlands) my favotite zoo in europe. Also ostrava zoo in the thech republic is a very nice zoo
@@motreful What a miserable life you lead. If you had listened to the video, you'd know that Prague Zoo plays a big part in preserving wildlife, endangered species and nearly singlehandedly restored the Przewalski horse population into wilderness. That horse was near-extinction.
This is really amazing video. How many time it takes to take all these shots? Really great video. I am in Prague Zoo at least once a year, but I love every video about that. Thank you.
Your welcome, glad you liked it. :) I mean with animals you just have to be at the right place at the right time and take your opportunity. I visited prague zoo twice, so I could come back for second or thrid chances, whenever the animals didn't show at firtst.
I live in czech and i love it too. I probably want to work there when i finish studying but this is so far. I also like the books from the prague zoo owner Miroslav Bobek. One tho book i gane this christmas.
10:20 The story of Shoebills in european zoos is quite sad. As You've said, breeding shoebills is quit complicated, finding a harmonizing pair is the most difficult part. Back in 2008 Pairi Daiza was successfull in breeding Shoebills, a wolr sensation! After the success most, if not all EAZA members with shoebills send them to Pairi Daiza, hoping to continue the breeding success they achieved. Sadly this was the only time Pairi Daiza was able to breed the birds but kept all the birds that were on loan. All efforts of communication with Pairi Daiza were failed. Since shoebills have to be imported from the wild right now and the attitude of EAZA for such practices is quite negative most former keepers ended their history of keeping this wonderful birds. Only a few zoos haven't send their birds to Belgium or imported new ones, like Walsrode, Zürich or Prague.
This reminds me of a zookeeper I've overheard in the Inonesian jungle house. In regards to Pairi Daiza he said: "They always take, take, take. But they never give anything back."
I came to prague just to see the zoo and i loved the polar bear enclosure bc here in Brno our polar bear enclosure is the worst u ever seen but its gonna get better here soon aswell bc they are building a new one same as in Prague
While it is of course always more important that the enclosure is well designed for the animals, this does not mean that visitor interests are irrelevant. These two elements should not be lumped together, as is often done (bars and tiles = bad, artificial rocks and glass panes = good), but of course a zoo also benefits from a stimulating presentation of the animals and the facilities. What's more, in the case of the maned wolves in particular, I didn't just describe the enclosure as boring for me, no, I also consider it to be boring for the animals. So both apply here.
I am local, living quite close. The nature in this part of Prague is really super nice. ZOO is just part of it, close to ZOO there is Botanic garden and a lot of protected areas including historic settlement (not many people now about that). As a biker (enduro, downhill) I enjoy local trails (this part of Prague is one of several spots) and I pedal up through ZOO quite often :) (there is a road which devides ZOO into 2 parts connected by bridges - 29:20) - its quite funny and pleasant to see zebras, giraffes etc. during my rides in this part of Prague :D
It is a really good zoo and it is affordable, which is important for families. I am sure it will get better every year. PS. I lived for several years in a house at the fence of the Prague Zoo (no terrible noise, no terrible smell - all was quite good, until a flooding river nearby did end my presence in this house).
I work in this zoo (as paramedic, but stil...), so I´m bit bias 😀 there is a lot of space for improving, for sure. But I like the zoo is constantly developing, slowly, but it does. Can´t wait to see the new polar bear area, current one is really sad looking.
Shoebill Storks inspired the Loftwings in Zelda Skyward Sword. There are only two facilities in America that house them and I have been to both this year.
@thezooexperience btw. This Polar bear enclosure IS the new one... they had one even older in the lower part of the zoo. Just a very small area with a square pool and both then bears had severe zoochosis unfortunatelly😢 just walking around or just jumping on the spot in the pool... was really sad to watch
I hope to visit Prague zoo next year, what are other Czech zoos you'd most recommend? I heard Pilsen is super species-rich, so that is definitely on the list already :)
Jihlava is also very interesting. A lot of modern enclosures, that more or less make the most of the rather limited space. It will be the next Czech zoo I'll show here, so stay tuned for that! :)
@@experiencethezoo I grew up in Jihlava; it used to have the motto "zoo with no grilles/bars" because it utilized hardened glass and other features even at a time when enclosures with iron bars were common, especially if the zoo's focus are big cats.
Hluboká nad Vtavou is a tiny zoo, but in nice location next to amazing castle. If you consider southern bohemians and german tourist as exhibits, it is the largest zoo. There is also a public outdoor swimming pool, and hunting castle exposition, along with long bikepath through nature reserve. Foreign tourist discovered only the top hill castle so far.
I prefer Zoo Pilsen in Czech Republic to Zoo Prague. It has the most species in all the zoos in Czech Republic while not being too large and it had undergone a lot of changes in the last few years.
On the outside it's definitely one of the best ones in Europe, especially from a point of view of someone who doesn't know where to look for things that are not ideal. On the inside, however, it's not always butterflies and rainbows. I worked there for several years.
Considering the fact that it didn't bother nearly 29,000 people enough to write a comment like that, I don't think it does. More to the point, in German I've been making regular zoo videos for 5 years soon and you're the first with this reaction. And even if I consider it anyway: Did it ever occur to you that there could have been a much more constructive way to express your wishes/criticism? I've produced a 30+ in-depth video here and all you can think of is getting upset about the FPS? Wow.
@experiencethezoo Of course I was being overly strict, but 25fps is really low. Maybe people don't complain because it doesn't occur to them often. Or they watch TV, where it doesn't matter so much, because most new TVs add intermediate frames. But on PC it's a pain even at 30fps, let alone 25.
@@vladah1465 its totally fine for what it is...also I suspect that the choppiness in panning has more to do with shutter speed being out of sync than fps (I get the same in 60fps sometimes since i don't bother with ND filters)
@@vladah1465 60fps is for games, 25/30 is completely fine for youtube and movies. Most movies are done in 24fps on purpose because it looks more cinematic. Only in one part of this video I've noticed a major fault in shutter speed but nothing deal-breaking.
I live in Prague and I've been visiting the zoo since I was a little girl. In last 20-25 years the zoo made a leap in terms of the enclosures. I remember vividly when it all looked like the oldest enclosures and aviaries in your video. All cramped, concrete and metal. That wasn't really a nice sight. But as funds come, they are working on bigger and better enclosures so I hope the trend continues. Can't wait for the new polar bear enclosure because the current one is just shameful. Previous bears were clearly depressed and exhibited repeated behaviour and it was painful to watch. On the bright side I could educate people who were visiting with me why walking or swimming back and forth or swinging head from side to side is NOT cute but a sign of a distressed animal in horrible enclosure...... Let's just hope they won't wait much longer for better space. Overall I love our zoo, they are trying to continually make it better for the animals and guests too and they are undoubtedly making many conservation efforts.
I love Prague zoo but there are other better zoos in Czech Republic. Zoo Zlín is phenomenal and safari park Dvůr Králové (only with african animals) is huuuuuge and wonderful.
You know, one thing I still don't quite get is why do zoos so rarely mix species in exhibits. I understand the basic no-nos, like mixing predators, or direct competitors in the chain, or same species so there isn't crossbreeding but something like mixing parrots with smaller monkeys and lizards from the same ecosystem shouldn't be that difficult, right? I've seen tortoises and goats mix quite well with other species.
My travels have given me the impression that this is happening more and more. And some of them are really creative. Like the vervet monkeys and red river hogs here in Prague. If you watch my video about Rhenen, for example, you'll see gorillas with meerkats. Didn't see that before! :D But yes, you're right, it makes perfect sense. It can be beneficial for the animals because it brings variety into their daily lives to share their habitat with other animals. And it also saves space without having to reduce the number of animal species for larger enclosures.
In my opinion I don't think the Prague is "best" zoo in Czechia. Most known? Definitely and it's logical. Gets the most visitors and money but that's because it is in capital city. I was in every zoo in Czechia and some near border (for example Vienna, Nuremberg, Dresden). And for me (and a lot of czechs) the best zoo is "Zlin Zoo" in Moravia (which is most visited place in Moravia and you can pet Batomorphi/rays without extra fee here) and then I would put on 2th place Pilsen and really close to 2th place Prague. But it's hard to define best zoo. Every zoo have something. Vienna has pandas, Nuremberg has dolphins etc.
Vienna zoo is boring, it's all flat, I like Prague zoo even because of the hill, it's very unique design. Zlín ZOO is also nice, but we didn't like Dvůr Králové with my father, it's only for cars now where you have to reserve everything weeks before and pedestrian part of zoo is very crowded and not interesting at all and everything there is ridiculously overpriced, like water for 60 CZK or something. Prague is the capital city and prices there are still normal. Owners of some ZOOs act like supermarket mafia with their cartel deals.
I already saw some ZOOs as a Czech, but Prague ZOO is really the best from those I saw. But I see bad trend - those modern ZOOs are looking the same, everything is the same, you can't get close to animals, there is darkness everywhere or lines where you go and you can't stop because people pushes you, I don't like it. With my father, we enjoy retro looking outdated ZOOs the most. I know it's maybe not the best for those animals, but you can slow down and just sit and watch animals and drink coffee or something, you can't do this in modern zoos. We liked ZOO in Wroclaw or Riga for example. BTW, design of Prague ZOO changed drastically like 10 years ago, because they had conflict with creator of original ZOO design, so they had to change everything, it looked much more "zoo-ish" before, it was very nice and unique design, now it looks very generic.
Aky prijebany clovek musi byt aby komentoval pod hodnotenie Zoo úplne nesúvisiacu politiku... keď už máš nutkanie zdieľať svoj 5IQ názor, tak si ho nechaj na politické videá.
Well, what to say. Take pavilons as they were bild and you'll see how good polar bear pavilon will be. Zoo is under constant construction. What do you expect them to do? Sell thoose preciouse animals to private hands so they can reconstruct whole zoo in one time? And where they find animals after reconstruction? And how they find people who want to visit Prague Zoo if they don't have animals? They have to fight for every few squere meter they want for zoo. And for every coin they need for reconstruction. I live in this republic and I know all theese things. Birds are new, so they have more visitors, so they have more money, so they can make zoo better.
What you say here applies to almost every zoo. Is that why you shouldn't be allowed to address shortcomings? As I already said under the top 10: I am aware that there are always reasons why so-called legacy issues have not yet been modernized. In hardly any zoo does this fail due to the will of those responsible. If I thought that, I would have formulated a completely different and harsher criticism here. And I have also formulated quite clearly what I expect from them: simply carry on as with the latest enclosures. It doesn't take more than that and the necessary time for Prague Zoo to become one of the very best zoos for me (again). That should also tell you that I think the current development is very good - and that is, if anything, a compliment for those currently in charge. You're acting as if I have some kind of exaggerated expectations here. Ultimately, however, I was simply measuring Prague Zoo against its reputation. If it wasn't constantly being hailed as one of the best in the world, I wouldn't have applied this highest of all benchmarks. The main reason why I personally don't think Prague Zoo is currently one of the best in the world is not that it is so incredibly bad - but rather that others are simply even better. And in the end, isn't that a good thing? At the end of the video, I say quite clearly that Prague Zoo is still an extremely good zoo. And you call that (unter the top 10) cruel? I think you're being a bit over dramatic here, aren't you? :)
I have been to the Prague about 20 times over 50 year period. I must say one thing that consistently gets worse and worse is the food there. Given the fact the zoo is so large you need to spend a whole day there, thus there should be some restaurants that sell proper food which tastes decent. The video makes an impression that the zoo is great and you just had an enourmously high expectations. BTW that polar bear enclosure was already there in the late 1970s. But it is still great to see it in the winter when polar bears are very active.
Yes, pretty much. Though I wouldn't put the blame on me here, of cause I expected a lot form a zoo that is claimed to be one of the best in the world. Still loved it though, so thats alright. :)
@@experiencethezoo Btw, as you mentioned in the video, some small zoos in the Czech Republic can be suprisingly good. I have not seen all of them, but my favourite one is the Liberec Zoo (in the summer).
@@experiencethezoo Liberec does not compare to Prague. It is the oldest zoo in Czechia and it has probably bad funding because many of the exhibits look outdated and unsuitable for the animals.Prague is truly one of the best zoos in the world. Not only most of the exhibits are new, but also because it is on a hilly terain, which gives it much better atmosphere.
Prague Zoo is not even the best Zoo in Czech Republic. Try Zoo Zlín Lešná, it's simply on another level with their new project Karibuni, which is basically one huge open safari-like area for animals from Africa, mainly elephants and lions.
insted of chine pandas there will probably other china bear species. One of the reasons why there will not be any panda if because china is only borrowing them and using them for politics which boss of the zoo doesn't want to have in the zoo.
As a Praguer, I'm here several times every year and I always see something I haven't seen before

A very beautiful impression of the zoo, featuring stunning animal footage and a pleasant, well-explained narration. Well done 👏🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much! :)
There are also naturally and freely nesting grey herons in some of the opened enclosures on the rocky slope
Fantastic video thank you. Can’t wait to go here again sometime
I wish they would've made that more clear. I don't think visitors are getting any of that 😅
Those mountain side enclosures are spectacular.
Yes, they are amazing!
mainly commenting for the algorithm, but this was an amazing video as always
thank you!
Awesome! I really want to visit this zoo someday!
Hope you can make it work soon! :)
Check out Liberec Zoo, it is very good ❤
Some of the older areas are underwhelming yes, but I think they are slowly working on expanding and making everything better, though the most needed reconstructions (like the polar bears) take precedent before many of the hoofed exhibits. I generally love the Zoo, it's a full days visit worthy size and enjoyment vise.
It really is❤️, I love going here in the spring when the chicks are born... there is also a cable car, there used to be bird aviaries underneath it, so you "flew" above them.. It's one of the most beautiful places in Prague❤️.
my favorite part of this zoo was always the children's zoo. i loved going to the the goat enclosure and feeding them.
Great Video, i hope i can visit prague zoo next year too
I hope you'll have a wonderful visit!
The species is fairly short lived though, so from the original 4 non-breeding individuals, only one is still alive and new animals are being brought.
another czech zoo- zlin lešná is in my opinion even more beautiful:)
LOL, Im from czech republic, visited a lot of Zoos over the Europe, but in Prague was 40yrs ago as little boy. Have to visit it :)
Oh yes, a lot have been done in those 40 years :D
What I love the most about Prague zoo is that the enclosures are made FOR ANIMALS, and not for people. What I mean is that for example I was in Vienna zoo this year and I really didn’t like it, because the enclosures for animals are too small so there is higher possibility to see the animals for people and animals doesn’t have a lot of place to hide
YOU TELL ABOUT THE ANIMALS==NOT ME=ME==ME!!!!! LOL!!!! YOUR ACCENT IS JUST FINE!!!!!
The Prague Zoo is my favorit next to Rostock and Leipzig!!
the best document of zoo: camera, details, light etc.
Good to know, thanks for sharing! :)
Very good video i wasnt in the prague zoo in like 7 years have to Go again some day
Great Video of a great Zoo 👍🏻
Thank you! :)
Im excited for the jihlava zoo, its local to me :)
As a Czech, I feel it is the best.
Great Video 👍
Thank you!
I love this so i bin in 58 different zoo's and it is with burgers zoo ( netherlands) my favotite zoo in europe. Also ostrava zoo in the thech republic is a very nice zoo
imagine you would have spend all this useless money for 58 entrys into animal prisons into saving wildness life
@@motreful What a miserable life you lead. If you had listened to the video, you'd know that Prague Zoo plays a big part in preserving wildlife, endangered species and nearly singlehandedly restored the Przewalski horse population into wilderness. That horse was near-extinction.
@@motreful How do you think that Przewalski's Horses were returned to nature?
@@TheKubyk i dont know, but do you think zoos give animals freedom?
@ yes, sometimes they give and sometimes they save whole species population

I love our Zoo
One animal that Prague is missing is definitely Musk Ox... they just fit so well at Prague
True, they would fit in really well in that northern forrest part near the new polar bear enclosure.
Miroslav Bobek is not owner, he is director :)
@alicer5660 I am sorry, i don't know how to say ředitel in english.
@@Jirikandy7 Ředitel je právě director :) Owner je majitel, proto jsem to opravovala :)
@@Jirikandy7 BTW jinak naprostý souhlas, Miroslav Bobek dělá pro zoo hrozně moc a je to vidět :)
You should make one about Dvůr Králové and Ostrava, also spectacular zoos. :)
Not as bad as the bear we sent to Mongolia (could be Kazachstan), and the employees kept stealing his food, so the bear died of hunger.
I came to prague just to see the zoo and i loved the polar bear enclosure bc here in Brno our polar bear enclosure is the worst u ever seen but its gonna get better here soon aswell bc they are building a new one same as in Prague
Brazilian flags are there because of brazilian merganser..they are next to shoebills..they can be found only in South of Amerika and in Prague Zoo
The fact that you find an enclosure "boring" is rather irrelevant, provided it meets the animals' needs and they are content there.
That spin at 4:03. Lol.
Nice Video
This is a zoo with great potential. Thank you that i can upgrade my english with your videos😂.
Nice side effect, love it! :D
Top 👍
The Prague Zoo is definitely great and equals the great zoos in the west, but in the Czech Republic the best Zlín Zoo is for me
Shoebill Storks inspired the Loftwings in Zelda Skyward Sword.
There are only two facilities in America that house them and I have been to both this year.
Giant Salamanders; i believe i must visit again Prague Zoo!!
A wonderful zoo in Europe merry Christmas 🎄🦁🐯🐻🐘🦏
@thezooexperience btw. This Polar bear enclosure IS the new one... they had one even older in the lower part of the zoo. Just a very small area with a square pool and both then bears had severe zoochosis unfortunatelly😢 just walking around or just jumping on the spot in the pool... was really sad to watch
Highly recomend Ostravas Zoo.
I hope to visit Prague zoo next year, what are other Czech zoos you'd most recommend? I heard Pilsen is super species-rich, so that is definitely on the list already :)
Plzen zoo is just amazing. The Dvur Kralove safari zoo seems to be great too (at least it's the only zoo worldwide that has every hyena species)...
Zlín-Lešná...
Top 10 ❤
I haven't ever realize how many aviaries we have there😂😂 one to many maybe😅
Liebe deine viedeos
Dankeee
I prefer Zoo Pilsen in Czech Republic to Zoo Prague. It has the most species in all the zoos in Czech Republic while not being too large and it had undergone a lot of changes in the last few years.
Best Zoo ever 🫶🔥🔥🔥🫡
Great video, but the horizontally panning footage is extremely jittery. Very difficult to watch.
Hi zoo worker form czech, the indoneisa jungle monkey actualyl have outside cages but not in visitor part off the zoo.
Interesting
On the outside it's definitely one of the best ones in Europe, especially from a point of view of someone who doesn't know where to look for things that are not ideal. On the inside, however, it's not always butterflies and rainbows. I worked there for several years.
25fps? Are you kidding me? It reduces the quality of your work terribly. Think about it.
I enjoyed this zoo a lot and it´s definitely great value for money compared to zoos in Western European countries.
But yes, you're right, it makes perfect sense. It can be beneficial for the animals because it brings variety into their daily lives to share their habitat with other animals. And it also saves space without having to reduce the number of animal species for larger enclosures.
Because you can't move all the animals to make room for new ones everytime when new one is added
@TheKubyk Don't you have to do it anyway whenever you introduce a new guy to existing group?
@@harambe4267 I'm sorry, I misunderstood your post. Pretend I didn't say anything.
Have you ever been to Barcelona zoo?

Prague zoo had the biggest donkey in the world. In 2023 that donkey became president of the Czech republic.
Aky prijebany clovek musi byt aby komentoval pod hodnotenie Zoo úplne nesúvisiacu politiku... keď už máš nutkanie zdieľať svoj 5IQ názor, tak si ho nechaj na politické videá.
Winter exist
Given that the Czech Republic is a relatively poor country, the quality of the zoo is high.
I haven't been to Liberec yet, but I'm glad I got to see six zoos in the Czech Republic this year. So there are still quite a few videos coming up :D
No nevím, to je dost subjektivní. Mně jídlo v zoo vždy chutnalo a neměla jsem nikdy problém s výběrem.
Prague Zoo is not even the best Zoo in Czech Republic. Try Zoo Zlín Lešná, it's simply on another level with their new project Karibuni, which is basically one huge open safari-like area for animals from Africa, mainly elephants and lions.
YES, YES AND YES!!! Far far better zoo!! Definitely the best one in CZ.
insted of chine pandas there will probably other china bear species. One of the reasons why there will not be any panda if because china is only borrowing them and using them for politics which boss of the zoo doesn't want to have in the zoo.
I guess Asian black bears would also be an option then. But since the EAZA isn't really pushing for them, I would still bet on sun bears.
