I think Teddy was gunning for the Aztec capital so hard because its Domination only, he wanted the capital for the victory condition. Japan likely tried to do the same thing for the Chinese capital.
I still hate how the Deity AI seems to work, they go through the Tech and Civics tree so ridiculously fast but everything else lacks miles behind. I noticed France was in the Industrial era but everyone is still fighting with basic warriors, archers and horsemen. Only at the end did we see the first knights and Muskets being made, and many are likely already bordering the Modern Era.
That's because the difficulty level does not actually change anything about the AI. They just start with 4 extra Techs. And get a +80% Production and Science Bonus. And Get 3 settlers and 5 Warriors. So if ALL of them are Deity Level, then NONE OF THEM is Deity Level. Going to ALL DEITY LEVEL AIs changes virtually nothing, aside from the game speed, because, in the beginning, they simply start with more cities and thus more stuff. So you get a bigger wars of attrition. And all of the european civs get royally shafted, because there is simply no room for their extra settlers to settle down on. So Russia, China, Murica, Kongo, Brazil and to a lesser extent India, Ausfailia, Arabia and Egypt get massive benefits from basically having entire landmasses more or less to themselves.
15:05 my wife and I have friends in Brazil, and when they saw snow in person when they visited us, you could nearly pick their jaws up off the floor. They liked seeing it, but did not enjoy how cold it was 😆
Brazil (military and land), United States (military), England (military and land), Spain (land), Rome (land), Australia (land) Japan and China have land and military too. those I think are the best so far
Flibbitt _ Sorry I'm a bit late but to clarify a bit, east Turkestan is what the nationalist movement within the province calls the region. They are populated by primarily Turkic people, but they were (until subjugated by the Chinese) called the Uyghur people, or, at one point, the nation of Sinkiang.

I just gotta say, that I am surprised I find myself sitting down for a civilization lets play- like I enjoy the games, but sitting through commentary of a person playing a game when I could be playing it myself (barring like watching a roleplay like lets play where were watching a character or specific take or something or if I want to gather an opinion on a game before obtaining it) is normally not within my interest but I do have to say... the approach you take with your videos, the sense of how you make it like an experiment and the fact you do put in a decent amount of editing effort and *mostly* witty and intelligent commentary on what were seeing is pretty entertaining. Just figured to chime in and say that your channel is alright, and I like watching your videos.
LOL nice catch! he thinks he’s a actually a super, duper, amazingly great general, lol. Tomyris better keep a sharp eye on that guy ... huge ego, his own personal army, and a bunch of workers ... I’m seeing a civil war coming ...
15:00 on the state of Rio Grande do Sul , on the south of the country are some city on the snow , but is less than 5% off the country , and in the empire of Dom Pedro frist (father of Dom Pedro second) , uruguay was part of Brazil (that time they are called Cisplatina) but they get out off the empire , until today some persons (more often in the Rio Grande do Sul ) still calling Uruguay of Cisplatina . The point is , we have city on the snow
Brazilians don't care about snow. They don't know what it is. Snow in Brazil is so rare it's a tourist attraction and people travel to specially cold places in the winter just hoping to see it once in their lives. | That region of the world north of the Himalaias is the Gobi. The small mountain range is Altai. | Congrats again for the 100K. We're still waiting for the multiplayer special. ;)
Should note that the Sumerian capital was named Urim when it was Sumerian owned, but the name changed when Saladin took it. Names of cities do change in the TSL mode when they’re taken and based on their region.
Love the game but my compliment today is your knowledge of world geography and history. We get a lot of (deserved) slack in the US for knowing little about anything outside our borders. Having said this and rethinking my surprise... you're probably Canadian. Anyway, awesome commentary... beats NASCAR hands down.
OMG Nashville is a name for America! Yay, we're finally getting some form of recognition besides "being that one country place with the Batman Building!"
Sri Lanka's former name is Ceylon, a name which you probably recognize because of the tea and cinnamon grown there. The region to the north of the Tibetan Plateau is called the Tarim Basin, it's part of China.
Still holding my bets on Australia and Brazil, with Poland for that underdog story, coming out of european hell to win the game would be pretty memorable.
I think there is a setting that controls the conditions for the Domination Victory, not sure I don't have the game. In it, the condition is you have to control the capital to fulfill it, can't you change that to make the condition say you have to have full control of all of the cities of the enemy to fulfill the condition for the victory? That way, civs will invade and conquer each other more properly, because that would explain both the U.S. and Japan's war behavior, with America insisting on taking the Aztec capital and ignoring the Aztec city in Florida; Japan's failure to focus taking Wuhan because they probably aimed for the Chinese capital; this also probably explains the build-up of British forces in Canada, because they might be gunning for Washington, capital of the U.S., which is just a few tiles south of where they are gathering. This would also explain why only Gilgamesh's capital was attacked by both Persians and Arabians and taken over by the Arabians.
15:33 it name reads Yadviga (but "g" is strong, so you don't say something between ge/gi, but it's closer to "k") btw. probably you don't hear of this name because it's polish name
I think England will win I mean look how much land they can colonise their only threat is Norway but they never have really caused too much of a problem before so cmon england
Speaking of Gilgamesh, I remember one time I was playing as America, and Gilgamesh laughed a surprise war against me, and then conquered both of my cities using only war-carts. I lost a game before turn 50. (I think it was before turn 50.)
Timon Heidema I believe you are thinking about Oda Nobunaga's ability from civ 5, where injured units fight at full strength, do correct me if i'm wrong though.
Drew, could you plz make a new game with marathon as the game speed, even though the game would be much longer, it is needed for the countries to travel further and its a lot more realistic in such a big map
I think that first area you forgot is the Tibetan Plateau (or possibly Transoxiana). It's just west of the Gobi desert, north of the Hindu Kush, and south of the Eastern Steppes. Sri Lanka's real name is Sri Lanka (or Sri Lamka) in the primary language and Ilankai (in Tamil). The name you're thinking of is probably Ceylon, which was the British name for the island (but is much older).
I think Rome is gonna go after europe. And I think that Brazil has the best chance of winning. Australia and Japan are doing great as well. I would love to see Trajan win over and conquer europe as well as seeing him winning the whole game.
I think England does not want Iceland because it is on the European continent.
i am the first reply on this great comment
"I don't think Rome is gonna fall"...where have I heard that before?
Italy in ww2
"actually, ok sure" said constatine moving the capital way over here to be closer to his MAIN RIVAL. "Don't worry about Rome, it won't fall"
I think Teddy was gunning for the Aztec capital so hard because its Domination only, he wanted the capital for the victory condition. Japan likely tried to do the same thing for the Chinese capital.
+Flamestalker MURICA!
J.R. Foster | NEDERLANDS/HOLLANDSE/BELGIË.
When he mentioned wuhan I began to panic

thats why we need to play in marathon
Superpower Dragon
but that would take too long for an AI only.
Charter Hold Then you probably won't appreciate TPang's Civ 5 Battleroyale MK2, hahaha
@@FARBerserker you guys should do a dootoon's AI
Yes Drew. I saw what you did there. Berserk... nice one. Got a chuckle out of that one.

Is it where americans go to buy cheap medicine?

#CanadianThingsEh
I think some extended family of mine live in Medicine hat but i'm not sure
TheBrodsterBoy I’m an four months late but I too am Albertan
I'm sure these videos were a ton of work. Thanks for making a whole series of these
Drew, that place above Tibet that you don't know is called "Xinjiang", located in modern day west China. Love your civ video.
The historical name is East Turkestan, but the Chinese name is as Gary said, Xinjiang

+Cryogenic Stasis I would use the name from Neu Katzland's AFOW: Uighuristan.
*Here lie all my hopes and dreams of Germany winning this game*
TheDarksoul01 Yeah Same.
Crack Lord, for reference:
Far North Eastern China=Manchuria, not Siberia
Just gotta get that out there
well technically anything above China and Mongolia is called Siberia.
Favourites to win:
1.england
2.persia
3.rome
4.arabia
5. Australia
China or Japan as a potential 6th
Jadwiga's name is pronounced Yahd-vee-gah.
He's right
As Drew attempts to take a selfie, the MASSIVE EARTH gets in his way. Will Drew ever take the perfect selfie?
09:00 Lol, the moment you said that I scrolled down to the comments to look for all the triggered Greeks.
I watched episode 1 and now this. This is impressive that you can make a simulation of bots entertaining. Definitely subscribing
I'm addicted to this series, excited to see how it pans out.

19:39: In the top right, does anyone else notice the great general convoy? I don't know, I just found it really funny

i love settling new zealend and ccreating a national park around the Fjord its amazing to do.
19:26 There's a town in Alaska called Chicken. Glass houses, man.
Sri Lanka's former name is Ceylon, a name which you probably recognize because of the tea and cinnamon grown there. The region to the north of the Tibetan Plateau is called the Tarim Basin, it's part of China.
My first Drew vid was his civ 5 arabia campagian hes come a long way from then
My first Drew vid was an AI only Duel by Stalin and Hitler, this was my first series though
Still holding my bets on Australia and Brazil, with Poland for that underdog story, coming out of european hell to win the game would be pretty memorable.

Speaking of Gilgamesh, I remember one time I was playing as America, and Gilgamesh laughed a surprise war against me, and then conquered both of my cities using only war-carts. I lost a game before turn 50. (I think it was before turn 50.)
Episode 2: Mystery with the Oasis!
drew you reached 100k congrats!
Don’t forget that Australia gets bonuses for civs declaring war on him
congrats on 100k subs!
17:48 Wuhan 😳
Remember drew, AI HATES small Islands
Talks about Samurai.
"It's half Health, so i don't know how much damage he is able to do."
Srs, Drew, Srs? Remember the Samurai's ability?
Timon Heidema I believe you are thinking about Oda Nobunaga's ability from civ 5, where injured units fight at full strength, do correct me if i'm wrong though.
Tim Andrla Well... In Civ 6 they don't have that ability for all units. But it went to the Samurais only
Drew could you double or even triple the research costs? Its pretty unimmersive when you have samurais at the same time Rome was fighting Carthage.
Iceland need to be a civilisation, so you can have your Iceland settled in a future game. They also need more mid-Asian civilisations too.
Drew, could you plz make a new game with marathon as the game speed, even though the game would be much longer, it is needed for the countries to travel further and its a lot more realistic in such a big map
It actually snows in some cities here in Brazil (not as much as in the US but still).
Persian Immortals can attack into cities as ranged or melee. Just a heads up.
Incredible series...I like it alot
6:24 - Drew's Oasis Contemplation.

It was called Ceilão by the portuguese
Loving the amount of effort you put in your video's even if its just for these AI battles. Keep it up!
Ahh the greatest natural wonder The Gibraltar Rock
19:50 Tarim Basin.
Also, Jadwiga is pronounced as Yahd-veeg-ah :)
One jaguars now the rock of Gibraltar, drew, get your head out of civ 5
Calls out medicine hat but makes no mentions of mosquito bay
I picked the new zealanders to win :)
we already have
Australia
Josh Larcelet
ooooh, I'm so scared of Kiwi's 😂
How are you doing the camera thing 10:00?
MACEDON IS GREEK
Only Houstonians will get this, but Macedon is Greece's Pasadena.
MACEDONIA IS NOT GREEK!!!
19:47 I'm pretty sure that's Tibet...
You missed the opportunity to say GASPÉ the English forward settled America!
the region between the mountains ,N of india is named Tibet
6:23 Don't worry it's not because of crack it's just a bug.
DREW! YOU NEED TO USE A FARTHER ZOOM MOD, WE CAN"T SEE ENOUGH!!!!!
Lmao like 10 seconds in he called Manchuria Siberia
13:00 Egypt founded Thebes, twice
Cool video when will be the next episod ? :)
I'm almost done with the video right now and I still have no clue why the water wasn't rendered on the Oasis
How you you go into that cinematic mode where you can spin around the map?
The smoke is only 2d. Mind blown.
How did you get this massive map?
You think Medicine Hat is a silly name? They have a place called Moose Factory.
Yeah medicine hat is an actual place, it's a pretty decent place
I'm hoping that by the end, the superpowers of this world will be America, Brazil, Japan, Egypt and Poland.
I hope Egypt wins.
Medicine Hat is named after the Native American medicine men
Oh Peter the great win for me
I think Rome is gonna go after europe. And I think that Brazil has the best chance of winning. Australia and Japan are doing great as well.
I would love to see Trajan win over and conquer europe as well as seeing him winning the whole game.
19:46 i could be wrong but it could be Tibet
Plot twist: European countries become close allies and together conquer the world (before turning on each other)
Germany be building up a army
The Himalayan area you speak of is called Tibet
Next you know it, Australia will be invaded by anime...
