- The 1545-1546 Siege of Kawagoe Castle (河越城の戦い Kawagoe-jyō no tatakai) was part of a failed attempt by the Uesugi clan to regain Kawagoe Castle from the Later Hōjō clan in the Sengoku period of Japan. Uesugi Tomosada of the Ogigayatsu branch of the Uesugi clan was joined by his more powerful relative Uesugi Norimasa, by Ashikaga Haruuji, the Kantō kubō in Koga, and by a host of anti-Hōjō daimyō from the Kantō region.

5:55 really love how they position themselves to look like Hojo's clan symbol as if they are showing their resolves to their ancestors who they are about to meet, that they will die defending the honor of Hojo clan.

I was watching some other guy's channel with commentary and all I imagined was this super suburban California kid with a Keeanu accent talking about japanese warfare. "Wooaah! Did you see that?!". SO ANNOYING!

2:36 That guy has stop being a Samurai after taking an arrown to the knee... ;P
We can pardon him for two reasons, why he did so. Firstly, he maybe had heel of Achilles and secondly, that was an Ashigaru soldier, a conscript, who had to fight because of his duty, but he had not the true spirit of samurai.
You know taking an arrow to the knee can kill you.. first of all breaks the knee cap, causing your leg to buckle and you to fall down since your damn knee just got blown out, you'd be lucky if the knee fragments at the point dont do the cutty cutty on your artery and if you get shot with an arrow you'd have a decent chance of death since medical treatments weren't good then

Great job! Just out of curiosity are you still able to play this DLC? On my end I can't seem to get it to work. It's in my steam library but I can't actually download it or it won't show up in game.

Why are japanese castles made so easily scaleable? Those guys didn't even need ladders or anything. Even the actual wooden palisades and walls seemed to have convenient foot- and handholds built-in.

Very hard to playing.. when 60,70% almost win campaign.. all ai make u as enemy..but epic gameplay for playing single battle
How did you get the graphics to look so good? I play at max graphics on dx9 and it doesn't look this good
How do you make the fire arrows look so good? When i play there are always smoke trails instead of the orange beams here, what is your particles setting at?
just graphic on max details, i dont use any mods for that

They're in the same clan why would they do that also the reinforcements were led by the lord of the clan himself
What's the clan with the red emblem? Can't seem to recognize them. Looks like Ashikaga by I'm not sure.

Хоро - плащ для защиты от стрел, на скорости его раздувает и подавляет импульс от стрелы при попадании.

Maybe you should not use the blood pack in shogun 2 videos. It looks pretty awful and absolutely not realistic in contrast with the rest of the elements of the video, which is great.
I know, looks terrible I try some blood mods but it doesn't help
sandokan1610 na man without blood its 10 Times more unrealistic. Like u would say nerf guns are close to real fight becouse it shoots. IT does but you need more power!
You could remove the blood pack, and then add a mod that adds small blood mists when missiles hit. I know it's an old mod somewhere
@@SandokanBattles I'm guessing you tried the gbj blood mod but that removes decapitations

4:48 AM 11/22/2020 Do people still play this? I miss the old days too you guys. Dont you think its kind of weird how a DLC just comes out of nowhere for an old game? Is Time Commanders back on tv and are they doing Japanese battles now too? If I knew how to exaggerate my campaigns as the faction Im playing as and make movies like CA did for the battles I would. Do it only to the major battles where its like 3 vs 1 and high chance to lose.

Yeah I was wondering about that too.
I'd say it's for against arrows while retreating. The other more possible reason is that during gameplay the player could more easily identify the unit of his general.
It was called horo, it was used to protect the user from arrows while they are riding on horseback.

The thing that bothers me about the generals is that:
Arent those Balloons on back actually making it harder for them? I mean i get that people need to differentiate generals from cavalry, but i would mostly use samurai cavalry without banners. I dont know if these balloon things were in real life but i would say they would make it harder for generals to move, harder than those banners on back
Stops arrows.
The balloons on their back (horo) were worn by messengers as well to differentiate them. It also doesn't slow them down
