    I own close to 40 knives, and this is in the top 3. Superb feel in the hand, insanely tough as you have demonstrated. One of the few carry blades I would stake my life on. Also doesn't reek of 'tacticool' or have any pretense of anything but pure functionality for it's intended purpose. Also a BIG bonus is that it is very easy to carry, no rough edges on the sheath - you hardly notice you have it on you. Draws very quickly and the multi-position clip is really unique to TOPS - very robust and obviously extremely well thought out. Can't say enough about this rig.

    Outstanding review of an outstanding shank! I carry this blade for weak hand draw/weapon retention. The point is ridiculously sharp and the knife is sturdy and fast. I can draw from my left pocket(sheath tucked down into pocket) in a little over 1 second. A great blade with style...... Worlds most dangerous Steak knife! Thanks for the video of my favorite knife.

    I suggest people buy a Cold Steel Spike instead. It is a fairly similar knife, but way cheaper and better for the intended purpose. It is currently in 4116 instead of 1095, which is better in my opinion. It will keep rust of far better than 1095, and also keep a sharp edge way longer because of that. That means you don't have to worry about pulling a dull, rusty mess out to defend yourself. If you fuck the tip up, you can still buy another two of them before the cost is about the same of the TOPS knife. I really like some TOPS designs, but their cost and materials choice isn't exactly ideal for me.

  • @DShiflet01
    @DShiflet01 8 лет назад

    I dunno, soldiers don't have a lot of money to spend, generally speaking, and there's always the risk of knives "disappearing" while on base. As such, most soldiers I know will not spend $80 for a knife like this, instead spending $25-35 or so to get something a little more disposable, like a Cold Steel Spike, CRKT Crawford/Kasper Dragon, CRKT Obake, etc if they want a "shank" type weapon for close combat.

    • @RoyFernbach
      @RoyFernbach 8 лет назад

      Yes, I know. However I think for a true combat type knife, the Legion 6.0 is better. I have "shanks" etc (Cold Steel Spikes come to mind) and for that use, you dont need to spend $60-80 on a blade. If all you are doing is poking holes in something, which this is made for, then it doesn't need to be so pricey.
      Basically I really just wanted to know if you looked at it. I got a hold of a Legion 6.0, sanded the sandblast coating off and blued the blade, removed the clip and added a belt loop in leather. I call it my Black Legion
