Today's lesson is on How To Play "Love Train" By the O'Jays On Guitar! This was a hit single for The O'Jays, written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. The song was originally released in 1972, and it was the first and only number-one record on the US pop charts for the O'Jays.
The song is in the key of C and uses something called a dominant II chord which is a great sound. Then in the bridge you get to explore a classic Motown move where you bring in the flat 3 chord, in the key of C this would be Eb. Have fun putting this together in today's guitar lesson!

You are a lifesaver! I’m a blues and rock player auditioning for a Detroit based party band and your 70’s R&B lessons are the best!

Thanks, how bout the melodic part of when a man loves a woman by percy sledge, you did the chords already. Thank you 👌
Can you tab out those cords? Assuming the C is a power cord? That one is definitely jamming me up?
Do you have a tab about this?
All guitarist who watch Jojo's Bizarre Adventure when part 7 comes out be like: I'mma learn this song.
For anyone who is confused, in the manga/anime series 'Jojo's Bizarre Adventure' in the seventh part of the series, there is a character who has an ability known as a " Stand" and his stands name is 'D4C' a reference to an AC/DC Song, but then later it becomes " D4C:Love Train" in reference to this song.
Great to know! Thanks for watching!
Yea, back then people joined hands and went to the adult movie theater together to watch a different kind of love train.
