Same 🙄 mine never reset to factory I’ve held the button for 7 sec 30 sec 1000 sec unplugged and replugged while resetting and it never resets back to factory. Great WiFi no internet all my lights are on and the nighthawk app doesn’t find the router ( probably cause it has no internet ) I hate netgear 😭😭
Same and second time around so done first time called support and they helped me but I was just past my free support so had to pay for it but I’m not anymore I just buying another one and keeping coverage I guess 🤷🏼♀️🤪

I reset mine and it still won't let me get wifi on my phone to the router
Mine just reboots it doesn't reset to factory, it has the same login as the one I setup. But we're all locked out from the router

Chris you might have too much memory in your phone like too many pictures stuff like that so It won’t be able to launch the app.
Does this clear all the network names as well?
I did the reset, and now it's stuck at reset for 10 minutes white power light just blinking what did I do wrong?

We had a interruption in digital service from Cox. Then no WiFi with Netgear router (not a Nighthawk). Could not log in with password on mobile devices.
Attempted to change the password. Still could not log in. Would going to Default settings be of any help to restore router? Router

You may ask this question in a networking forum with stating the exact model of the router. This said, you may find the following information helpful.
First, I want to make 100% clear that the Wi-fi login is not the same as the admin password of the router. In fact, for security reasons it is ill advised to use the same password for Wi-Fi login and router back-end. This means, you most likely will not be able to connect to the Wi-Fi by using the default admin credentials.
Resetting the router to factory settings usually overwrites the WLAN settings, also. So, you need to login into the browser back-end of the router using the LAN connected computer to setup the WLAN SSID(s) and password(s) again. Check the manual of the router for this, but it is usually the router's IP address, which you usually find under "Default Gateway" in your network configuration. The shell command ipconfig under Windows or ifconfig under Mac or Linux should present this information quickly.

So the reason why I'm here is I've heald down the reset button for 30 seconds twice, and seven seconds twice in four attempts to try to factory reset my router. The password still does not match with the one on the sticker. Any thoughts?

@@iSmashURfacE I called the customer service. Belive it or not these routers need a paid subscription package in order to properly communicate with devices. It's because they "provide the highest level of security and stability"

Routers have nothing to do with the internet service. They just provide wired/wireless routing/switching of the existing service from your modem. So no, there's absolutely no need to contact Comcast about your router. And honestly, you're more likely to have Comcast give you incorrect information if you did call them.
@@rfehr613 Comcast does do max address whitelisting, so first setup you’ll need to provide your devices max address, after that, in theory, Comcast should work

I opened Port 44158 using port forwarding last night on my router and now I'm having nothing but problems tonight I watch television using my internet all day today and just suddenly it crashed no internet.
And also my nighthawk app will not open properly anymore it just tries to show login such as admin like I logged in on my router on my laptop. So I tried to log in just like I did logging into the router on the laptop and the app says you've timed out every time I cannot get into my nighthawk app anymore

I have two Netgear R7000.
I wanted to see if I could have set one R7000 as a base unit and the other R7000 as a repeater. I did it without connecting to the internet.
It worked fine but discovered setting as a repeater is no security.
So, I reset the R7000 base unit, all went well, but the R7000 repeater unit is now stock is in the loop, will not boot.
I am not able to reset because the repeater unit keeps trying to reboot every few minutes, the unit never boots up in order to reset.
Even in this condition, I tried pressing the reset button, first 7 seconds, then 30 seconds then 30/30/30 30 reset 30 reset with power off than 30 seconds reset with power on.
Any anyone has any suggestions on how I can reset into factory settings?
Take one outside maybe ? Loose connection while you reset ?

I shock my router.. did ruined it
I just updated Nighthawk Ac 1900 app firmware on phone, then it ended up with only 1 left orange light on (on Nighthawh AC 1900), all other lights are off (they should be on to be connected to internet). Now , I even press reset in 10, 14 secconds, but nothing happens. Am I missing something here ? please help, cuz my kids need internet for online classes. Tks
You need to reset your modem then once the lights are all on and have connection turn on your 3rd party wifi device and watch all the lights turn on with no orange.
@@BigFish2023 I already tried it many times: even Soft reset (7sec), hard reset (30s, 30s with unplug, 30s with plug back in) , even tried to load Initial firmware to unbrick by Dos, USB or program which youtubers shows, but nothing works. I finally bided a new Router on ebay and put this broken aside for now

@@BigFish2023 what ? I thought you tried to help me out telling me reset modem , but now yours has problems hehe. My modem is dead now after updating firmware. Are you sure you still want to update? I updated it from Nighthawk App.

I did that and my power light will only partially light. It’s weird. It goes from red to white but I just blinks and is only partially lit.
