HA! I just posted something similar, and then noticed your post. Yea that price ridiculous for what it is. Same thing with the vertical fire pit/stove shown before the solar panels. If it's something earthshattering then yes, please take my money. Not in this case. But then again, I can now sell my 2017 Tundra with 31k miles for more than what I paid for it in 2016; different times we are living in.
If you have little space and don't want a mounted panel, it's gonna cost you. I'm guessing this is significantly more expensive to manufacture. Cells themselves aren't very expensive
To all the people asking about how long the torch lasts: The long answer is it depends on flame intensity, ambient temperature and even elevation. The short answer is, about 10-15 hours on a standard 20 lb. (5-gallon) propane tank. You have complete control of the flame so if you want a huge bonfire, go for it, you'll have about 3-4 hours of pure heat. If you're only needing some added ambiance with a hypnotic dancing flame, on low you can get 20+ hours out of a tank.
Oh I would love to but I’m scheduled to be a featured influencer at Overland of America in Oklahoma. Will hopefully get to Teton Overland Show next year.
I enjoy seeing these new gadgets. But I will admit, I think some of the prices for these things are laughable in some cases (like the $580.00-$630.00 foldable 130-watt solar panel). But I get it, R&D, patenting, etc.. cost money. Plus price is subjective, I recall saying I would not buy an SPOD or a SwitchPros because I will make my own, got all the parts, here we are two years later and I ended buying TWO SPODS and selling all the parts because I just did not have the time to build my own. Now the price was acceptable but two years ago I thought they were nuts.
Yea there definitely seems to be an overlanding tax on a lot of products, but like you said, once you start seeing how much engineering, time and money goes into producing these things it kinda makes sense. I’m a huge gear nerd and love seeing the newest kit and fully expect the sticker shock comments 😂😂😂!
@@AdventureBuilt would be really really useful to know how long a 5lb propane would last in this torch whilst set to a normal output flame….very useful to me and others imho
@@Master-Blaster-4x4I plan on doing a review of it and will add those details. Might be a bit until I’m able to create it unfortunately. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.
Can someone please tell me how I can be in the know for future events like this? I live close by and didn’t hear about it until it was over. I know I’m late to respond but any help would be appreciated
I hate that overland gear, especially those panels , are so ridiculously overpriced, I get it’s made in America but it forces a lot of us to settle for Chinese made crap .
$635 for a foldable 130w panel.....yikes. Shadestopper (also US made out of Utah) has a 100w ETFE flexible panel that is $119, and likely far outperforms this in partial shade/overcast conditions.
Love this channel. Always learning knew inventions. Love it
Glad you enjoy it!
That 130 watt accordion panel is sweet. But 650$ for it is crazy considering 460 rec panels are like 300$ for homes. Thats an insane price.

That is a common concern with that panel. I don’t disagree!

Great info!!!! Thank you so much.
With a small amount of skill this can be built for 20$
I was going to switch up on my track boards to Action Trax. Didn't think of the cold temps. 🤦🏽♂️ Switching now. Thank you.
Yea for sure…I’m learning things all the time about cold temps versus hot temps.
Nice Video!
Thank you very much.
great content! awesome
Glad you enjoyed it
Hopefully you can make it down to Idaho Falls and the Teton overland show in September.

I'd have no use for that panel. But with so many folds, I find that price acceptable if it's actually durable.
Tripod torch: how is the propane consumption? does it burn thru propane fast??
I haven’t done any testing with it but I will have to assume it depends on the setting. More flame more gas!

Anxiously awaiting the redo of the recovery board testing in -20 temps!
Do temp me with a good time!! I’m only happy when my beard is frozen!!!
For many things, these boards are just too flexible. Even in Montana when it's not cold which is most of the year
Great content. What watch band do you have? Thx!
Thank you so much. It’s actually an Amazon find. EKINGEEK for Garmin Fenix 7x. Dumb name but great band.
Hot in Arizona? It barely reaches 85 degrees...and it gets blistering cold with tons of snow in the winter time.
Dream come true

They have an instagram page that should have info on it. They also have a rally in Canada if that interests you. Hope this helps.
Thank you.
This video only proves that overland taxes are crazy high. It is like these companies add the word overland and charge a few extra 100$ to the tag
For the record, the price is currently high for everything, especially overland gear!

I can’t believe the price for those solar panels. That’s actually unethical.
