Whenever you testify for a jury, you have to place them at the scene, and give them all the facts of the case. I’m certain she chose to testify against him, as victims aren’t normally forced to. I pray that she receives all of the peace, and help that she needs to move forward from this.

What a lovely, strong, well spoken, beautiful mother. She did so great testifying. I was crying each time she would pause to cry quietly, or try not to. Her little daughter sounds like she was a perfect child. The picture of her shown in court showed a beautiful, happy girl. I hate that this happened to Kennedy and Miss Mariah. I cannot imagine the anguish Miss Mariah is going through. She is so brave, such a stunningly beautiful woman. I never would have guessed she was pregnant either, until she stood up to point to where they weee on the board. She’s so adorable with her perfect little pregnant belly. She has no chubbiness except for her perfect little basket ball shaped tummy. I’m glad she is still living life, I know I would have a hard time, but she seems to be smart about it, and allows the sons, tears, and sadness to come out when it needs to, instead of bottling it up and exploding. the law is a tedious process..in order to secure a conviction, you must be crystal clear when it comes to everything. the jury has to understand so that they can judge a person's guilt or innocence. This isn't something that was designed for TV, this is real life. a real trial. everything that happens in it is a public legal document, so they have to be 100% specific and detailed about everything they discuss. The smallest mistake could cost the cast to be lost or overturned in an appeal. The lady lawyer questioning her is the prosecuter

How they have the statues or instructions written out - it leaves no room for feelings. It’s very black and white. If the all facts don’t line up for a charge provided by the prosecution, you have to vote not guilty no matter how much you despise the phuckers.
Police can have a confession and if it was taken unlawfully and there’s no hard evidence just speculative. Confession thrown out and you must acquit. Even if you “know that you know that they did it”. Every step is important.

As a mother with a daughter i couldn't imagine going through this type of trauma and pregnant. My heart broke when she asked her if she has kids. This was very hard to watch and it makes me appreciate my daughter more 😭
How beautiful, articulate and strong this young mother is to have experienced the tragedy and devastation of losing her young daughter.. And what's more? She's in court to testify for that same daughter and relive those traumatic events, all while being very much into her current pregnancy. Her courage and strength are beyond amazing to me. This isn't something that was designed for TV, this is real life. a real trial. everything that happens in it is a public legal document, so they have to be 100% specific and detailed about everything they discuss. The smallest mistake could cost the cast to be lost or overturned in an appeal. The lady lawyer questioning her is the prosecuter

How they have the statues or instructions written out - it leaves no room for feelings. It’s very black and white. If the all facts don’t line up for a charge provided by the prosecution, you have to vote not guilty no matter how much you despise the phuckers.
Police can have a confession and if it was taken unlawfully and there’s no hard evidence just speculative. Confession thrown out and you must acquit. Even if you “know that you know that they did it”. Every step is important.

She has to speak up… a court reporter is capturing what is being said. It is extremely important for all information to be captured and missed words could be the difference if and when a defendant seeks a new trial or an appeal .
It’s a trial! This is a sad case indeed, but being asked to speak clearly and audibly for a judge/court reporter is probably standard.
