Same thing for me. I only knew about Twice and Momo because Heechul kept talking about them and supporting them. Otherwise, I would not even know about Twice or Momo.
I don't think he felt guilty for dating Momo but rather was saying stuff so that his fans won't cancel him ;)))). STILL I really like Heechul, he's so much fun. I never saw personality such as his in KPop! Also, just because he was dating Momo, it doesn't mean he has to marry her and be with her forever... People part ways for different reasons and that's just life. That claim that he was using Momo's fame so that he can be more famous LOL....... Some trolls probably wrote that. Heechul's a legend in Kpop! :)
He didn’t say he’s sorry for dating Momo, he’s sorry for how the fans should found out & when the “cancelation culture” for idols always there, his fans did the opposite thing, elfs keep supporting him, telling him “its ok, its not a big deal, we’re happy for you” & loving him more & more, that make him feels guilty.. Idk, but for me heechul’s the most ‘rational thinkers’ idol’s i ever know. He did everything that he thinks right even he should fight the agency, & it happened lot of times😳🤣 He didn’t care who hates him. There were times when elfs have fan cafe, even elfs hates him that time. & he left that fan cafe bcs he’s tired of the hate speech, he left even when he’s part of super junior🤣 Years later, he logged in into a “super junior anti fan” site, fought with everybody & deleted his account🥲 If ppl said he’s afraid his fan would cancel him bcs of the dated, i think it isnt true. Since there’s so much more reasons that we could cancelled him but we didn’t🤣 If ppl out there also said he’s afraid the agency will scold him, its not true either. He’s even fight w/ his trainer & back to his hometown. Then LSM asked ppl in SM to pick him up😭🙃 i mean this kid did almost every weird things😩 why we should worry about the dating announcement when its already his time to get to know someone?🙃 Elfs got so excited about the date, we even want him to get married soon. But he mistakenly thought that we did that to cover up our disappointment, that’s why he feeled so sorry😳😩 & for my point of view, he was tried to protect her in this video. I mean, he have been with elfs for 15 years that time. He already gained his fans trusts. But for her, the date issues came out in top of her career & being part of a girl group is harder, i mean gained a fan boy even so much harder. She just be with her fans for few years & their dating announced could affect her career. I think heechul realized it, thats why he talked that way😌 I stand for him for all his savage actions that no one could ever thinking🥲🤣

He said being an idol and dating someone might be a disapointing news for E.L.F. while on the other hand, he also knew that he is at the mature age, and being the only son, he wanted to get married (not to mention that on each episode of My Little Old Boy, his mom nags him to get married).
