For more context, Courtney's husband/guitarist Mike wrote the whole instrumental arrangement for this and does for all their music. The guy is a great musician and composer.
I've enjoyed watching the 12 days of Spiritbox. You definitely have to check out their earlier work. Even though I've watched this trilogy multiple times, I still get chills whenever Courtney hits that high note in Part 1.
That must be my favorite piece of music from them. It sounds more rock and prog than any of their most newer stuff, and I am glad they announced recently that they could release more tracks like these in the future. Also part 3 of the Sirius XM live show is there right behind :)
Courtney has so much range but she doesn't always show all of it all the time. It's like she's so good she just doesn't feel the need to show it off. Some people claim she sings in the lower register "too much" or that it's "too easy" but you see she can go high and clean and with power if she wants to, she just prefers singing a certain way more of the time.
There's also the matter of live sets. If every song in your set is super hard to sing, that's a fast way to losing your voice and/or having to change certain parts live and having people whine about it. That being said, holy fuck that high belt in pt 1 is insane.
