    I've spoken to a few staff members from DisneyToon Studios and the main reason that many of their finished products are lackluster is because they're given a VERY strict deadline. Sometimes I can be forgiving towards their hiccups because of this, but there are some straight video titles that make me believe there's more to blame than the intense schedule.

      +Jambareeqi
      I'm sure those animators had strict deadlines, but that can't have been the only reason they were usually bad. I mean good lord, seven different writers worked on this project, and not a single one objected to, everything? I don't hate them though, I feel bad for them. They had to work long hours away from family, and for what? At least sweatshops make shoes or something, the final result for all those hours at work was a trainwreck in every sense of the word. That is just depressing.

    • @Jambareeqi
      @Jambareeqi 9 лет назад +23

      +Tyler R Trust me, they're fine haha! The ones I've met are pretty proud of their work and now have much better animation jobs.

      ***** Well that's good to hear, those animators deserve a lot better then to work on such trash. Huh, I myself would not proud of working on this failure, if it was Aladdin 3 then yeah, I would be proud of it. But I'm not an animator, so I can't really say. Again, good to know things got better in the end.

    Fifi? Her name is Fifi here? I played in a production of the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast, and in that show, her name was Babette, which I think is a much better name.

    • @LadyTylerBioRodriguez
      @LadyTylerBioRodriguez 9 лет назад +11

      Yeah, there's a funny story about that. In the original movie, the feather duster played by Kimmy Robert's didn't have a name. The Broadway show was written by Linda Wooverton, the same writer for the film, and she named her Babette. That came out in 1994, this was 1998. I'm going to just assume they never saw the fantastic stage show, and made it up. Yeah, i'm going with what the original writer called her, because it fits better, and so there is one less thing to remember this movie by.

    • @victoriagarcia3078
      @victoriagarcia3078 5 лет назад +2

      I was in Beauty and the Beast too, and more than likely the reasoning behind her name being Fifi in the "film" is because it's pretty synonymous with French Maid stereotypes, which is what she was originally written as. The musical though made her a more developed character and she gained a cult following, thus why she has her own segment but Lumiere is just a side character. As a side note I'd also like to point out that she's gained so much popularity that in the live action remake she is literally one of the main characters, even including some conflicts for her and Lumiere because they're unable to be affectionate with one another because she'll catch fire and burn to death (they don't actually give a reasoning so that's the excuse I have). Nevertheless the character, though is my most favorite character in the story, has no business staring in her own segment of this "film" and it's very obvious they only did it because she started to become a fan favorite in the overall story.

This isn't the only direct-to-video sequel that slapped together a bunch of episodes of a failed tv series, Atlantis: Milo's Return and Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True did the same thing. Tarzan and Jane doesn't qualify as a movie either, the entire plot is just Jane contemplating how to celebrate her one year wedding anniversary with Tarzan. While she does so, she, Terk and Tantor would reminisce on memories, every time an idea was brought up. These memories were just 3 episodes of the Legend of Tarzan tv series (which was good by the way). Anyway, what do you think of Lion King 2, cause I would love it if you could review that one

    I adore the epic poem, and I actually like what they did to the video game and film. Yes, I know they changed things, but it could've been worse as an adaptation. While playing the game, I could see that the makers actually did their homework on the source material and created a unique look for Hell, so I don't really agree when people say it's a shameless rip off of God of War. There are elements of it, yes, but it's not a shameless ripoff unless there was no effort put into the game.

    The minute the "The Character" title card popped up and I saw that god damn accordion pop up, I just died. I have a billion questions as to how that shit was made and not drawn as a joke instead of something that was supposed to air in a television show. All the new characters are just nightmarishly terrible and frightening but the accordion took the cake for me.

      I imagine there was no passion in the animators while making this. I mean imagine having to work overtime far from your family with low pay, and your only reward is having your name attached to something the company nowadays likes to pretend never happened. Damn, at least sweatshops make shoes.

      Yep, I know those were rip offs, but they were better then this. At least it could be funny at times, this isn't funny, it's actually painful to sit through. Also it hurts far more because IT'S DISNEY! I know it's Disney Toon, but its still the same company!

    You know, I do agree with this, but you need to have the complete Beauty and the Beast Trilogy. And you know, for the tv series, they can come up of what happened after the spell was broken and wonder that some adventures untouched like visiting London for making Peace and harmony, or seeing a lost world of dinosaurs, or perhaps expect some spells the Enchantress can place.

    The series is not limited to these four episodes because Disney made one of the new Beauty and the Beast episode in the 21st Century in the Disney series Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Kingdom of Kindness. This series was originally released directly to DVD, however, was not a success, and now it is only left a music video You'll Never Lose This Love. Unfortunately, this 21st century episode has now disappeared. Originally in this episode, Chip did something and Belle and Mrs. Teapot comfort this to bring Chip back to the castle. Before the song, Belle has saved Chip from the river. The song teaches Chip that people still love him even when they are mad with him.

    Animat I recommend you watch The Scarecrow 1999(2000). Its a very underrated film from Warner Bros about a scarecrow who comes to life and turns human. But there is a catch you see as everyone can see him as a human but his human form is a illusion. It rips off Disney movies like Beauty & The Beast and Pinocchio.Basically how he turns human is this magical feather on his hat.
    SO corny but it was OK.

But that's not saying much and it's a really big if.
