Great video and info as always Stephen!
Thank you so much friend!
Raising the female is definitely something to take into consideration if you are trying to make visual or double hets. 2 years down the road you might switch gears on project ideas or the price fluctuations might impact your juvenile investment . I’d say selling hets babies and buying into an adult to fast track your production is a great thing to consider if you don’t want to miss the train on things. However you don’t really know what trends might blow up unless you are paying attention to the big breeders racks. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m definitely regretting some juvenile purchases.
Completely agree and I think that happens to everyone. The more experience we all get the better we can evaluate when an animal is gonna be perfect for years to come
I plan on focusing on feeder breeding. Mainly rats and mice, possibly ASF’s. Going to breed ball pythons on the side, your videos have really helped a lot with planning this all out.
Thank you so much for watching, and a good rodent producer is so valuable! You are gonna crush it!
people should breed the animal they actually want in case they don't sell .i purchase a female 3 years ago a recessive with other gene 1female only which is enough i think having a male or 2 that does is job is way more important to get eggs. The thing is that the market was not about multi recessive in 4 years plus ago. people may go back making super or specific animal that is hard to hit . (im going to keep females that hatch from my breeding and maybe a male i think depending on what you breed you will have to hold those babies for yourself) Their no really bad way to start unless it normal to normal that has no hets .My paring will be 2 different visual recessive plus one of the animals with a specific het .would i prefer to have the same recessive for my project to do visual yes but it not even available and if it was i be homeless with a snake LOL
I loved the video,I have a 1.0 Leopard Double Het 100% Hypo/66% Puzzle and 0.1 DH 100%Puzzle/66%Hypo
This is the hardest battle I deal with when picking up a new animal. I battle with this decision constantly. It really helps listening to other breeders POV sometimes. Thank you!
Same! It is such a difficult decision and it changes based on each individual collection and goals!
I feel like your hinting at a hypothetical puzzle project lol
I was thinking the same thing
@@straightblastpythons 😆 I may know a guy to help
Puzzle is definitely a project I’m REALLY excited about. Hypo Puzzle is definitely something that will go amazing with my favorite gene!
