Excellent solution to an often vexing problem. Another possible idea is to use your attic for antenna installations. While stealth antennas aren't particularly efficient, they do get you on the air. And as the old saying goes: any antenna is better than no antenna. Currently, I'm using a full-wave 40-meter loop antenna under my elevated rental home...works great for local and state contacts!
In the US most homes made today have plastic soffits and siding which you can squeeze ladder line through the seam to get into the attic. It's easy to run a wire around the perimeter of the attic which gives it some height. Multi-Band loop antenna's fed with ladder line can be temperamental, but can also work very well. If you don't like the black ladder line running up the side of the house, you can also make 600 ohm with different color wires to make it stealthy.
That's fantastic David. My sofit's are metal and also my house has a flat roof, so no crawl space per se. I love ladder line - when I lived in the mountains I had 450ohm ladder line running into a 130ft flat top dipole - worked a treat! Thanks for swinging by and leaving a comment buddy. Cheers!

Cheapest way is to run an AWG 16 or smaller copper wire from the back of your transceiver out under the window and upward to the eaves of your house. The first part of this RUclips shows the eaves of the house, the part where the roof sticks out beyond the upgoing outside wall. You can continue this wire separated from the metal of the house Eves as far as you can run it, keeping it away from contact with metal anything and crossing electrical wires with separation only at right angles to the wires not parallel to the electric wires. There's an antenna turner inside your radio or added as an extra device, this will work wonders for receiving and may match enough to transmit also. You can use a coaxial plug on the end of some RG 58 coaxial cable that's attached to the back of your radio... Run the other end of the RG58 conveniently out your window sill or other exit point through the wall--- and attach the center conductor to your wire which then runs up and around the underside of the eaves of the house as described. You can leave the shield open or attach the end of another wire which runs the opposite direction around the eaves of your house..... The shield in RG58 can be left not connected. To be extra fancy use a wire length of 8 feet total from the center conductor of your coax upward and outward or make the wire you're running around your house some multiple of eight feet--- like 16 feet or 32 feet or 66 feet or for low frequency work 120feet. to get even more fancy, run a wire from the shield of your coax the same length of wire as you had hooked to the center connector. you can hear on any of these links of wire, for transmitting success is experimenting and antenna tuning.... but don't let your bare wire touch any other metal.

When you mention adjusting the antenna .. are you physically changing the length of the wire? What about the counterpoise wires do you need to change them too?
G'day Jim, thanks for your comment mate. I am changing the radiating element (wire) ONLY, which is the awesome thing about this. The same counterpoise wires will work on every band from 70cm right through to 40 meters which is amazing. I am yet to find the 'real estate' ha! to try this antenna system on 80. Do the radials need to be at the feed point. My shack is on the 2nd floor but down at ground level I have a wooden deck that can easily hide the radials.
