This video demonstrates why I am such a fan of DeadAir.
Mike takes the time out of his schedule to personally address questions/concerns of his customers.
In addition to, in my opinion the best suppressors in the industry also the Best customer service.
    Thanks Pappas

Thank you for this explanation. Just got a geissle alignment rod and going through my ARs. Couple are center and a couple are slightly off but not touching like you said. Think I'll be off to the range.

You guys should sell these rods. You can stuff a "coupon" for 10 buck in every suppressor box. I'd buy one of those if they were priced reasonably (>$50 is not reasonable).

I looked all over for this exact video. Thank you sir putting this out there. I was worried that my SureFire TC2 can was going to have issues because the rod wasn’t completely dead center. My DeadAir can was dead center so that’s what made me worried.

My friend has an AK Vepr rifle and the gunsmith at the range told us to go with the Dead Air Wolverine suppressor because the AK rifle was not concentric (he never even looked at it). We looked at it and the threads looked evenly spaced around the bore. Thanks for your through explanation; it explains a lot. Would be great if Dead Air made a plastic threaded faux suppressor for the sake of measuring concentricity and alignment prior to actually purchasing a suppressor.

I've got an S that I run on a Ruger Scout Rifle and the alignment rod looks just like this-not perfectly down the center. The rifle shoots 5/8 inch groups, so for those of you wondering, it does not affect accuracy. The Ruger Scout Rifle has an odd barrel profile and the shims sit over the thread shoulder by a hair. That is to say, all these imperfections and it still shoots really, really well. Just thought I'd share that.

Mounted my sandman s to like 6 of my armalite platform already and was told on purchase day not to bother with alignment rods unless i was putting it on an ak. I do t own one so didnt get rods. Now im worried cause people telling me i should of been using them all along. Just got another 6 more keymos in so thought before i shoot from them maybe j should see about some rods.

Unfortunately I just got my Sierra 5 in today putting alignment rod through it on four different hosts and it's off. Once I did that I noticed when you set the can up straight it's bent in the middle the weld is off, underhangs on one side and overhangs on the other

Any firearm I've had from a quality, reputable manufacturer has never had concentricity issues. Please do your own research
From what I've seen, when you have a barrel cut and re-threaded or threaded for the first time, that is where I have seen most issues arise.

If I don’t plan on shooting my rifle without the suppressor is there any reason why the muzzle brake needs to still be timed? It’s so much straighter through the barrel and out the suppressor without shims

Sometimes it’s not the barrel but the muzzle device. I had an out of spec OSS brake one time. The local gunsmith and I discovered this but using a direct thread can to check it. OSS was contacted and hooked me up with a new. Shit happens sometimes

Shouldn't suppressor alignment be known as coaxility instead, since you want the barrel axis and suppressor axis to be aligned.
