awesome, I'm glad all generations of metalheads can appreciate this band, I think its the best thing in metal to come around for a while. I'm not saying there's nothing else that's come out recently that's good, but its the combination of the members in this band that I've been following for years, Jeff in Nevermore, Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse, and recently Keith because of his tone and riffing, and Alex Rudinger's drumming is possibly the best of this generation. Put all that together, you get Conquering Dystopia. I'm on the fence whether I'd like to hear vocals or not, only if its the right person with a very dynamic range of vocals.
Pinkman is a kick ass drummer.

Other musicians who play technical metal never look like they're having much fun, but Alex always looks like he's having a blast.

Taylor Pawsey As far as the styles they play and come from, I completely agree. However, the actual playing style of being extremely and overly technical definitely shines through in both Rudinger and Garstka.

honestly. this guy is so skilled. people who dislike this are just jealous as hell. Ive been drumming for about 15 years now and i know ill probably never be this good. Evnthough im not really into this genre (more wintersun, ensiferum etc) this is real difficult and you gotta be very creative with the chops and rudiments here. Kudos to you Alex, keep it up brother.

I've heard of them all. I think a very good rising drummer right now is Dave McGraw of cattle decapitation.
The precision this guy plays with is just ridiculous.
Alex your composition on this album was an absolute pleasure to listen to, thank you for your part in this amazing record which I contend to be one of my favorite albums of my life.
And this, boys and girls, is where skill comes from.

This song is so gut wrenching and I don't mean in a bad way. It feels like there's some kind of apocalypse going on and humanity literally has no hope and you're just forced to watch every second in agony, and you're disgusted with every second of it. Aside from the brutal scenario, nice song! hah
