So here's how I guessed. I'm an English/ling-linguistics student who's done some style analysis. I'm no professional and I rarely listen to both genres, but here are the differences I spotted besides rhymes (listed in order of the songs)! Long comment warning too. 1. If it's not not a full-stop or comma, it's probably opera (translations do be like that I guess). And you rarely see semicolons in modern day lyrics anyway 2. 'Fits so good' is technically grammatically wrong but is used a lot more now -- and only recently. If it were opera/a translation aka from way back, it would've probably been 'fits so well' (grammatically correct) 3. Rose-coloured' kinda gives it away. This is obviously pop since 'rose-(insert word)' is a popular collocate (two-word combination). As in, rose coloured/rose tinted would be a more popular combination now than in the past, where idk rose petals would be more common 4. I really don't have much to say about this one. Only that you rarely blatantly see the words 'I love you' in lyrics nowadays guess, so opera 5. Not much here too; only that religious allusions/referenced ('from heaven') are very rare in modern pop for very obvious reasons 6. Again, semicolons give it away, but also 'their'. It's not used much in modern pop ('I', 'you', 'we' are more common). You also don't hear 'praise' in pop much 7. The syntax/sentence structure makes it clear it's a translation. But I ruled it from being non-English pop because it seems more first person narrative-esque which you don't get much in pop 8. Repetition (anaphora I think of 'was') gives it away. I think this was what Brett and Eddy were referring to as 'it sounds very pop'. You get crazy lot of repetition because that's the only figurative language you can use in pop-I mean... because it makes stuff catchier and more memorable (and that's what pop's about-I MEAN...) 9. This is clearly translated and there are no fancy punctuation, so... opera I guess? (Also 'while I force myself to hide my tears' just sounds very pop. Plus the sentence structure 10. Again, biblical reference so opera. 'Here' is probably heaven Another thing that all these share in common: you can usually tell based on how the stanzas/lines are written. i think 날 닮은 그림자 is poetic enough. it could mean that "someone else's shadow that resembles me" which could relate to common human conditions, or "looking at self's shadow and think about oneself" this could relate to self-meditation. it could also mean a shadow that mimics onself. so if you define being "poetic" as having many different possibilities of interpretation in minimal words, yes it is a poetic phrase. if the lyric was "my shadow" 내 그림자 or "your shadow" 네 그림자 it wouldn' t be as poetic as "shadow resembling me" 날 닮은 그림자.
The last one was SO easy (at least for ARMYs)! Also the first phrase 'Look at my feet, look down' was sung in English in the song (On). I actually did pretty good on this one. I've been working on interpretation for my vocal rep so I kind of get the idea of phrases and words of the songs (poetic themes).

Oh if you’re thinking the iNtErEsTiNg merch, (me too at first) they meant the patterned shirt he wore in his most recent video.
i've seen the words "what should i do? i can't stand myself being so weak" so many damn times....
BRETT LOOKING SO ADORABLE DAMN

oh god yes please!
i second the motion!!!
omg they should
8:08 🎶 all the dam time, cause I like you 🎶 swiftie struggles can’t stop won’t stop completing those lyrics. Love you TwoSet !
날 닮은 그림자 is not poetic, but it has two different meanings to it. "The shadow that resembles me" could also mean "I am like my own shadow"
i think 날 닮은 그림자 is poetic enough. it could mean that "someone else's shadow that resembles me" which could relate to common human conditions, or "looking at self's shadow and think about oneself" this could relate to self-meditation. it could also mean a shadow that mimics onself. so if you define being "poetic" as having many different possibilities of interpretation in minimal words, yes it is a poetic phrase. if the lyric was "my shadow" 내 그림자 or "your shadow" 네 그림자 it wouldn' t be as poetic as "shadow resembling me" 날 닮은 그림자.
Early, and has anyone noticed how fresh Brett's shirt is?
And at 6:04, we get glimpses of Brett's secretly wild self
O.o

Funny cuz I just got a luandry ad
For once he isn’t wearing merch 😂😂

The last one was SO easy (at least for ARMYs)! Also the first phrase 'Look at my feet, look down' was sung in English in the song (On). I actually did pretty good on this one. I've been working on interpretation for my vocal rep so I kind of get the idea of phrases and words of the songs (poetic themes).
Me, a classically trained vocalist: Pop vs. Opera lyrics? EASY.
Also me: Gets most answers wrong.
I watched Carmen LAST NIGHT and I didn't get that one right. The translation was kinda off tho
Twoset:
It may be hard, because not all the lyrics are English

6:10 the first k-pop song I liked/loved. It's been years since I heard it, but I felt proud that I could recognise ❤️
the moment I saw "look at my feet, look down" I automatically say it in RM's voice (my bias btw)
he is my bias too
I like how they're putting Brett's Lofi to good use.
Yes! Thank you for bringing opera down off its fancy pedestal! I'm a classically trained soprano and let me tell you that everything that is expressed in pop music can also be found in opera or classical songs (plus a whole lot of MUCH wilder and weirder stuff)
Brett: I can see why people like opera now. I’m getting old.

And yes the BTS song's lyrics is pretty poetic if you translate it to Korean . _ .
Should do Metal or Pop. There are so many songs by Disturbed, Gojira and a bunch of others that are amazing.
Cannibal Corpse vs. the good old Swaylor Tift
But this is a classical music channel
You didn't list any metal bands. Death to false metal
@@LouisGuillotYT alright, metal or opera. I could see a lot of iron maiden and dio sounding a lot like an opera. Lot of medieval themes.
@@holstorrsceadus1990 you're crazy if you don't think disturbed or gojira are metal. Or do you only listen to extreme technical melodic death metal, and everyone else is a poser?
