I remember the episode of her singing I Surrender and after the performance Simon Cowell told the audience that he was shocked that she carried that song under remarkable circumstances. She had been fighting strained vocal chords all week
I love watching people see Kelly killing it on Idol! I can't believe this was 20 years ago!
If Kelly wasn't "discovered by a talent show" she would be held in the same regard of the best of the best. Period!
Her vocals are better than any of the contestants of the last two seasons. Her vocal range is incredible, from her highs in the second song, I believe, to the lows in "You Make Me Feel". Though I can't hear "You Make Me Feel" without thinking about Darci Lynne singing it on America's Got Talent, the look on Simon's face was priceless.
She was soooooo damn good then….even better now. Love her so much ❤

That's so cool! Which one did you miss? I'm guessing tickets were free and you booked the Idol website? I managed to book tickets for the Graham Norton Show when I was in England and it was as simple as just booking on his website.
During the competition Kelly Had streptococcus and still preformed. As well as after this competition she competed in the World Idol competition and came in second.

For Its Raining Men and I Surrender she was horse af! It was the Top 4 and her and Tamyra was HORSE!!! Also this was when they used the backing tracks so she messed up trying to follow it.
She was sick with laryngitis when she sang "You're All I Need".
