If your are in WA State ever again you need to check out MaryHills State Park. It is one of my families favorite parks. Lots to do for free ( which is imporant to a family on a budget). Plus there is a life size replica of Stonehedge and a huge museum Called Maryhills Museum near the state park. Also there is a really good restaurant called The Glass Onion which is also near the park in Goldendale, WA. There is another place we love to go, is Staircase in Hoodsport WA. It is one of WA state oldest rain forest where you can see some of the largest trees in WA and the biggest slugs in the world. Anyways thank you for visiting my state and have a great day

We will certainly put Maryhill on our list! It sounds amazing! Funny thing is we live in Wa. We are originally from Texas (hence “The Lost Texan” name). We’ve spent the last year trying to enjoy all that Washington has to offer and continue to mark things off our long list .

I thought that was the Columbia River, or even the snake river. I thought you were in Texas. I’m also in Oregon close to the Columbia. Be safe rattle snakes season.

Charlotte Johnson it’s a beautiful River for sure! It does remind me of Texas on this side of Washington. I hope to visit the parks in Oregon soon, I’ve heard it’s really nice down there.

The Lost Texan most are. My honey is a camp host for some of the parks here in north east Oregon. Right now he’s at a dry camp ground called Minam. It’s between two little towns, Elgin and Wallowa. Beautiful area. Lots of areas to explore.

It is the Columbia but they named the body of water between Wanapum Dam and Rock Island Dam, Wanapum Lake.
