Nice table you got there, oh wait that is KDM.
LOL
It's refreshing to see someone keeping a small collection of games that they know will hit the table often or they are kept for play with specific groups of people, instead of the hundreds of games other reviewers keep. I never had an extensive board game collection because the people around me were not very interested in board games, so I know how you feel. Right now I am revisiting the much loved LotR LCG and I have a great time.
That’s all you need. Anything more just becomes wishful thinking.
You've got KDM played so much it's worth every dollar! Would love to see you play some more This War of Mine too.
I haven’t kept track of my dollar to hour ratio, but I have more memorable moments in that one game than any other game I’ve owned. Once I finish up this Gloomhaven nonsense we’ll see whether we’ll begin KDM Season 3 or TWoM Season 2 HARD MODE.
Bro I just woke up and you made a video of my favorite game. I love love love KDM
Haha, good morning! Stay tuned for more KDM!
@@WaitYourTurn sweet!!!!
Safe to say Middara and Kingdom Death Monster will never leave my collection. Looking forward to Townfolk Tussel and ATO.
Me too! Middara was before my time, perhaps one day I’ll look into it more. The gear system looks amazing!
@@WaitYourTurn Thanks for the response.. Midarra is pretty solid for a dungeon crawler in my opinion.. They actually have it for sale on their webstore still if your actually interested.
Amen to that! Townsfolk Tussle is pretty great :)!
@@WaitYourTurn KDM announced a sale today on the website. Glad I got to it quickly. Felt like within an hour the Gorm expansion was sold out.
That was insane, I was so unprepared for it.
I really enjoy too many bones! Thank you for your reviews and play through for that one. You literally sold me on the game. Thanks!
So happy to hear it! Sorry about throwing away the inserts :,
@@WaitYourTurn No worries, A Trove Chest solved all the storage challenges.
@@Herodragon9 eyyyyy, that's how you do it!
🦅 + 🔥 = Jordan’s greatest accomplishment
Truly, civilizations crumble while my phoenix endures. Just wait until 2030 when I finally get something new to paint.
I'm curious how Sankokushin and ATO will fit considering the need to flip through a book and read passages.
Glad to have you back!
I do have mild concerns about ATO's format but so far I've thoroughly enjoyed Marcin's writing length and quality. As for Sankokushin, Francesco mentioned that "book-scouring" was one of KDM's flaws that they hope to correct. It's been awhile, but most information and story events will be present on the cards themselves.
@@WaitYourTurn Don't you love your little black book for KDM though? I cherish mine. I would have loved to have had a similar one for ATO and Sankokushin more fitting for each of their themes of course. I'm not looking forward to spiral bound flippy floppies like TG though.
Actually... that's so true. So many memories between that scuffed black cover. More kickstarters should have hardcover books. I'm still torn between picking up another rulebook since the binding is beginning to fail in mine.
Just a little note: this war of mine has been a Kickstarter originally. But most ppl have the retail edition that came out later
Very true, I probably meant that it wasn't a game I personally helped fund on kickstarter. I could get used to simply buying games at retail ;)
You only keep 6 games? That is some discipline lol
Discipline wrought out of necessity ;)
Am I going mad or did the intro repeat itself...a glitch in the matrix.
Great to see more content. I cannot wait for my KDM 1.6 to arrive.
Whoops, classic matrix glitch. Just goes to show how out of practice I am. Any bets on whether KDM 1.6 arrives by next year?
@@WaitYourTurn I'm holding out hope 1.6 arrives by Xmas but waiting on the next updates from Poots!
Have you been keeping up to date on the KDM BGG forums? There has been a lot of soft-updates that Adam has made via the KS comment section. Super intriguing!
@@WaitYourTurn Yes! I saw the comments flying in via the Discord. A good update on GC. I passed on the expansions though until my core arrives
Wise man, hopefully I'll have some solid expansion reviews completed by the time you think about getting some.
My favorite is This War of Mine. Have you thought about getting its expansions?
Surprisingly, I haven't. Once I beat the winter side I might, but it's not a game I play too often for perhaps... obvious reasons.
Hi, I really want kdm but I am just unable to find a copy. Do you have any other alternatives for games like kdm boss battlers with really nice minis?
Hello! There are a few alternatives out there, but most of them are still in kickstarter development. I've heard some things about Wild Assent (they're on their 2nd kickstarter) but I haven't looked too deeply into them. I believe you can still late pledge Aeon Trespass: Odyssey and Primal: The Awakening but it looks like late pledges may be closed for Townsfolk Tussle.
---
Personally, I'm still waiting on Sankokushin: Five Sacrifices and Seventh Cross, which also exist within the genre. However, thus far, KDM remains incomparable. They're in the middle of restocking core games right now, so with a little patience they should have available stock on their main website by Black Friday if all goes well.
I am very interest in what games you got rid of.
I believe I talk about them around the 7:25 point. Most of them were prototype and preview copies.
@@WaitYourTurn Hah I had pretyped that before finishing the video. I must have accidently hit submit. Oh well it helps the youtube algorithm so Ill just leave it up to immortalize my stupid moment.
LOL, it's ok. That's what I thought. The algorithm gods feast tonight!
I go mainly for the core pledge + stretch goals on crowdfunding. This gives me the most value. :)
You have no expansion for KDM?
I believe he has ordered the gamblers chest or something, but KDM stuff takes a long time to be produced and shipped.
From what I remember he's gone for a lot more than just the GC for KDM.
@@joshhart379 probably :D
lol, I'm not fool enough to spend money on ebay for KDM expansions nor am I wise enough to have bought them five years ago.
I'll be revisiting this topic... often xD
Down to SIX games? What was your original collection size? Either way, much respect. Besides destroying games, rather than gifting/donating them. -_-
The past couple years, I have tried the same and tried so hard to go from like 80 to 10 games. I got it down to 8 big/medium box games (not counting their expansions) and then another 10 or so smallbox games. ...Then KS's delayed by the pandemic started trickling in... oy vey.
Excluding all the preview copies and prototypes, my original collection was probably about 10 games. So it's not *that* big of a purge. Rest assured, I only destroyed prototypes that were not meant for distribution. The rest of my collection found new, safe, dry homes.
@@WaitYourTurn Yeah, as you kept mentioning prototypes in the video, I started to figure those were the ones destroyed. =\
I’m not proud of what I’ve done :’(
I am trying to keep my collection under 100 and I am finding that hard to do. Not sure how you got down to 6.
It's a combination of not having that many games to begin with and being very satisfied with what I already have.
@@WaitYourTurn Where can I find this satisfaction you speak of?
Hmm, try google for that one.
@@WaitYourTurn I took your advice and now my mom banned me from the internet.
Resistance creates more new friends than lose older ones? :D I'm tempted for a while, someone sells it in my city for 7€ but everyone suggests that Avalon and other reimpressions are better ¿?:-/ for me seems that setting is more attractive and easier to play
Depends on your friends I guess xD
I haven't played Avalon so I can't help you there... but after briefly looking at the rules for Avalon, it's clearly the same game with additional powers and a special assassination win condition. So yeah, it's probably superior due to the additional layer of complexity. On the other hand, The Resistance is more straight forward and has identical rules. Your call :)
@@WaitYourTurn I will probably get resistance. I think is more attractive to convince some people to play, and precisely better if simpler. Thanks mate!
@@WaitYourTurn already got it, no turn back :D
Haha, I will not be held responsible for any broken friendships ;)
Destroyed? Not given away to charity or anything?
No worries, I only destroyed my monopoly sets (jk). The rest were free prototypes that weren't meant for distribution.
Needs timestamps. Not watching otherwise.
better not see you comment the next stamp-less video. =)
@@kalega311 better yet, maybe he'll take a whole 2 minutes to time stamp the video!
