Wow, what a tragedy for those guys! I researched this after I watched your video, and you did a fantastic job recounting this historic site…great job by you & Todd 👏🏼👍🏼
Well, I’ll be darned! Somebody who has basically, with a few minor discrepancies, got the history right. Thanks for using my maps and artwork as well as my primary refs from my articles. Note that my new book updating the history will soon be available: “The Butterfield Trail through Arizona’s New Frontier."
By the way, what did I get wrong? I was fascinated by this place and the story behind it. Almost everything I found online came back to you so thank you for the efforts! I’m still curious about the two graves to the west of the station. I don’t think I could find anything about who may be there.
@@Desert.Sky.Adventures Those are not graves west of the station--only a pile of stones. The marker was put there without permission of the National Forest Service. The tank with water in it that you saw was not where the spring was. It was farther up the canyon. There probably wasn't a second Confederate battle. The only ref is from someone many years after with no historical basis.
Well done...interesting stories, running battles, the will to live.....we'll done.
Thanks buddy!
Thanks!

Did you happen to catch the grave near the gate?
Yes. Didn’t find much info tho.
