The Sigma Art Lens are amazing, but they do struggle with focus, I shoot weddings and used to have the 35 and 50 Art lens and I had a lot of missed shots because they did struggle with nailing the focus that stopped once I switched to the Nikon equivalents, but for video they are awesome
It's not the lens if ur shooting sony it will struggle will known factors with sony. I shoot canon R with most sigma lenses never had a problem even with backlight
Nice Review. Having had this lens and using it for a lot of outdoor photography totally agree about the build quality and optical performance. I had paired this with my Canon 5DS-R and was able to really get the most out of the high resolution. Now looking to use it for video work as well. How does this lens focus on 1. Sony A7S iii / Mc11 adapter combo 2. Canon R5 /R5C .
A review that finally makes sense 😂 exactly what I needed to watch, badly want one to film weddings as I believe this is the dogs bollox!! I used one for a first dance and LOVED IT, slightly heavy but well worth it
Only half way through your video and already learning so much more about lenses than 6 months of watching other reviews. Seriously great content. Do you have any other reviews on the rf glass for video use ? I would love to see your in depth reviews on .... well any lens to be honest. I’m a subscriber now and will devour your content over the follow days 👌🏻🔥🙏🏻👊🏻
Many thanks! I’ve done lots of lens reviews (and very special review coming in the nest few weeks) but unfortunately haven’t reviewed any of the new RF range, mainly because I tend to use Sony more than canon. Glad I could be of help 😄👍🏻
Harv Video/Audio Stuff Actually I have another question. You mentioned that this lens has significant vignetting. I’m wondering how you deal with that in video given that it’s only corrected in-camera for native Canon lenses (I think)? Do you embrace the look, correct it in post (plugin)? That’s one of the things stopping me from going full-frame in video - I can adapt or use many wonderful third party lenses including vintage but what to do about vignetting wide open? Thank you.
Out of sheer curiosity, would clip filters (like the ones from STC Optics, since they product ND filters alongside other, more specialized ones for IR and narrowband imaging) work for video use and the 20mm f1.4?
So tnx for this review! Would you suggest this over sigma 18-35 1.8? I wanna use it in my canon 250D ( aps) for recording video in low light indoor. Or other suggestions?
Thanks, oh no I’d definitely go with the 18-35 with the 250D. Its optimised for aps-c, it’s nice to have the extra zoom flexibility and the difference in light transmission won’t be big at all 👍🏻 it’s a killer lens, the sigma 30mm is amazing for aps-c too but again with only half a stop difference in light transmission I’d go for the zoom every time😄

Hope you enjoy 😛
Have you tried the new version?
Really like this review! Very thorough and I appreciated the focus breathing examples 👍
Mine landed at the dealer today and will be sent tommorow. Holding thumbs
Bought it for my S1H last month. Very unique lens and love that 3D look 😊
Do you need a adapter for s1h l mount?
@@MB-jt4fy no there is a l mount version
Thanks a million, Harv, for this detailed review.

What camera body where you using?
D850 D800 and D750

thanks for the good review! all my questions are answered
Extremely underrated lens. If only it had hard focus stops and not focused by wire!

Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed the video!
Is this lens suitable for real estate videos I need to keep everything in focus all of the time?
What’s you thought on this and the 24 version. Kinda stuck.
hi thank you for this video! on which camera were you shooting this footage please ?
Youre cracking dad jokes/puns now. im digging it! hahaha keep it up man!
😂 couldn’t help it
have you tried this lens on a canon 90d?
How's the AF though?
The focus was on use for video so I used manual focus the whole time. However I did try it with the EOS R and it seemed to work brilliantly with DPAF
Is there no rear filter mount for NDs?
Thanks for this review. I'm interested in your Fotodiox review - have you already posted it (and I just can't find it) or planning to?
Not yet, it’ll be a few weeks I reckon 👍🏻
Harv Video/Audio Stuff Thank you!

Personally I love vignetting so it’s ever bothered me, I often add even more in post 😅
Harv Video/Audio Stuff Thanks

Have you got anymore videos using this lens?
Many thanks and yes indeed, my main workspace shots on every video after this one use the 20mm. You won’t regret it, a hell of a lens 😍

@@HarvVideoAudioStuff so tnx for this!
Gréât men ! wonder how could I get the right type of filters on my 20mm Art S for my S1H systems
nice lens, nice review...
Graciaaaas :)
cant put screw on Nd or diffusion filters is only flaw
Are you still using this lens? I think the biggest con is the bulbus lens
It’s not a con exactly, but no I’m using the Sony 20mm F1.8 👍🏻
Great Chanel..new subsc
Many thanks 🙏🏻
Don't be shy to say Canon ND filter adaptor mate. Just buy a canon lol
Thumbs down/dislike added for the two 15 seconds ads forced at the start
