Hi, Victoria. Eight days ago I had the right part of my thryoid gland removed because of cancer. I am trying to get my speaking and singing voice built up. I know it needs time to heal, and I am not overexerted, but I just wanted to give myself a little support.
I'm autistic, and speech production has always been a struggle for me. I've been using your exercises to improve my speaking voice. They're even helping me when I completely lose my ability to speak due to situational mutism! (Its official name is "elective mutism" or "selective mutism" but that sounds like you get to choose when you'll be able to speak. You don't.) Maybe I'll even be able to sing someday! (It's very painful to have perfect pitch with a voice that sounds like someone stabbed a goat and a vocal range of less than an octave!)
I am not diagnosed autism but I do have have alot of autistic traits and this being a new trait I didn't know had a name to it. Thanks it helps me to understand myself more.
I'm diagnosed asd too and SAME 🤣 I'm so monotonal naturally. I've noticed a huge difference in my talking voice, and delivering speech since learning how to sing. 🙃🤣

I just came on because I have been in a choir (not all that long) and as an older voice 79, I wanted to strengthen my vocals. I am not a singer but can just about hold a simple tune!! I found this so useful. I am singing GO and can really hear the cracks in my voice at some levels. Thank you so much. I have subscribed and who knows, I might sing solo one day in my 80’s😂.

Now that we are empty nesters we have decided to start again but so much practice and re-toning and re-tuning is needed. 😂😂You bring such a positive energy to your teachings and WOW! @@Victoria-Victorious I hope the issues I have with vibrato gets answered in the video. Like how it is easier to get a vibrato off at higher notes and mixed/head voice but I just can't get a vibrato going on the lower notes and chest voice. I can also hardly discern the difference between a weak vibrato or just me 'shivering' my voice on the lower notes and thinking it is a weak vibrato. I look forward to your next video, thanks!
It's a great exercise for healthy vocal folds. I was diagnosed with vocal dysphonia (had a weak hoarse voice since I was a teen), so wonder if there are some hope for me. I totally agree though that the body should be healthy and energized to be able to sing or speak with intensity and clarity.

Weak voice happens sometimes when you're hoarse, but if you're not then you can sing! I was trained by a Broadway singer who was my teacher in Hollywood CA but didn't mock anyone

Sorry for saying that your videos wasn’t for pop, I was wrong I just figure out sometimes I sing weak so I really love that you just not give trainings but you also explain why it happens, PD: I really recommend this for any style just because in pop the higher voices and light ones are overrated doesn’t mean that it’s everything,thanks.

I used to sing in a choir it was a training ground and very grateful being part of it. I wrote and composed inspirational songs but I felt like I need more singing lessons.
