Jamie’s father committed suicide, which influences this album greatly. Suicidal tendencies run in his family, and he has been quite open about it. Actually, Jamie and Angela are lovely humans.
May I request Sigur Rós. I genuinely think you will enjoy them.
You might also enjoy Parenthetical Girls, who worked with Jamie and Angela, but there was a falling out. Their final album was broken into 5 parts as the Privilege series. Maybe you’d like Bikini Kill and Le Tigre, just from the standpoint of fighting for human rights, but also calling out horrible things.
This was the first Xiu Xiu song I heard. I said, wtf and turned it off! 🤣 But I love this song so much.

and definitely listen to Fabulous Muscles, insane record, i don't know if its a concept album per say but a lot of xiu xiu albums, especially in the early part of the discog like this one, I guess his emotional state and ways of processing the things he sings about can be viewed as a concept, definitely packed heavy with emotional stories and meaning, even if there's no concept specifically, you'll get a lot out of any given record from them for sure

you really should react to swans. their sound is extremely distinctly dark yet at the same time ethereally beautiful. id recommend checking out their albums from the 90s, before the group disbanded and reformed in the early 2010s. the reason i say to look at their later albums is because their first albums are very harsh and for some, quite difficult. my top picks from the band would be "children of god" , "white light from the mouth of infinity'" , "the great annihilator" , and "leaving meaning".
