Emergency Halo Vest Removal for CPR

This video from Scottish Rite for Children demonstrates how to remove a halo vest in the event of an emergency.
-Check to see if patient is breathing & has a pulse
-Instruct family member or bystander to call 911
-Remove Allen wrench from patient's vest
-Loosen four screws on brace front that hold rods in place - two on right side, two on left side
-Unbuckle all four straps on vest - two on front, two on shoulders
-Begin CPR
-If needed, have a second person loosen four screws at top of rods to remove rods and allow for easier access to chest and airway
