@@IcyFlame606 They didn't disband but are currently contracted to valve and won't be working on any new personnel projects for the foreseeable future
I already had faith in gearbox after the small replies on twitter confirming the patch but now seeing the plans laid out solidly like this and knowing they're very open to total reworks has me so hyped! My guess is that being acquired twice apparently during the dlc's development really messed it up and made them have to rush lots of things, but now they're under less pressure and can make things actually good. Rip major construct though...
Actually about the reworked items, during the video version of the news there's a clip where false son hits an elder lem and knockback fin procs, and on top of the knockback it applies a stacking debuff with a short duration, an icon showing a reticle, and effects on the enemy that look like a ring target. Maybe they're making it into a "focused fin" or something meant to make you do more damage to single enemies?
I can't wait for these updates! The community still seems oddly pessimistic about this from what I've seen, but like, this is EXACTLY what we've all been asking for; Full transparency on the devs' plans, communication with the community and accepting our feedback, and addressing ALL the issues, not just bugs. The only thing I'd want more than what they've shown here is for them to add a few new enemies to the DLC once all the bugs and balance issues are quashed, maybe that odd "scrapped" Xi construct that was... apparently actually spawning in game in the bulwark's ambry somehow??? Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!! *Edit: Oh the construct change got addressed in the video whoopsie poopsie lol
@@SocksNeedsHelp Oh yeah! I just mean later on down the line, once everything is fixed up and the game is back to peak performance. I don't see them adding much else new content, enemies are just the one thing I could see being addressed because they're the one thing that was really lacking volume-wise in the DLC, everything else was obviously scuffed, but at least there was a lot of scuffed stuff to work with. Though we could also just get Blind Pests 2.0 with this DLC so maybe it's not worth the risk... Of Rain 2.
For me i already kinda have blind pests 2.0.. those worms are as annoying, they just appear less frequent. Also, yeah, I can understand pessimism, roadmap for fixing a DLC is hilarious, like, in what world is this a reality? But of course it's infinitely better than all the alternatives, lmao, it's the best we could hope for.
UPDAAAATTTEEESSSS!!!!!!! really excited for false son reworks since his moveset is basically my entire playstyle (death laser + hammer go bonk) the elusive antlers is such a peak item rework already so im wondering what they'll do for the others we are so back
oo! item rework? I've basically been waiting on that to actually get the DLC, some of the stuff seemed nice as hell. I'm glad your video is a little shorter than the other ones only seeing the videos in reccomended just before I gotta leave for lecture.
Im happy to help. Its a fault and a blessing but i try to get all the into out in as short of a video as possible because a lot of other people do super in-depth vids. As someone who plays overwatch, these kinds of videos where ifs just the facts with like, 15% opinion in them are always helpful for me. But at the same time i think they are less interesting
Thank you for this video. I would not have know it had even been happening if this vid hadn't happened Also what was that music in the backyard i think ive heard it somewhere
the more i read the roadmap the more i was happy. seems like they exactly know the problems we had with the dlc and the way to fix them. (finally gilded elites won't have a stupid amount of health, i swear that's for me one of the best changes). i hope they don't touch too much the false son bossfight. i like it as it is now but for what they said they won't change his attacks
I can't wait to get one shot by that Twisted elite Spirit Bomb knockoff. I already had hope for the game because of all the small things the devs said they were working on and everything, but now I'm very hopeful.
HOLY SH!T! They are actually doing it. they actually listen. Is this a full 180?! Not only wil the new items not suck anymore, but they are considering item bloat! awesome. im very happy and excited again. Full overhaul, no holding back is exactly what i want.
honestly, the twisted elite rework i think is going to be awesome. I can already imagine yelling at my friend to not get hit by that big blue orb and then watching them get sent to mars
im personally fine with gilded elites i just wished you would know when the bubble would appear because when i see a gilded early into my run im always cautious since i actually want to have money for items. my personal fix would be that they let out a pulse 2 or 3 times before the bubble appears
Although they were completely understanding, I can’t help but feel bad for the Devs like they spent so long on it and I get it was buggy but like there’s so many videos of what’s wrong with seekers of the storm
And people will STILL say that actually devs don't care and are in the wrong. Don't get me wrong, I was a doomer, I cried on launch a few times but the interview with Dee and the responses and everything else gave me so much hope, and finding out that gearbox went through layoff and the dlc suffered a time cut of ATLEAST 2 and a half months felt like such a weight off my shoulders
cool, but if they wanted to fix it, the existing fixes might bump this 2/10 dlc to a 4 if lucky. In my opinion the dlc would of worked better as a map, item and enemy pack than a sotv copy
@javierfraire8741 respectfully, this is silly. They cannot go back in time and QA cant solve everything. This is more than enough compared to what theyve done in the past
Not a fan of the very clickbaity title. The 1.3.5 update is only bug fixes, nothing else, and everything actually mentioned in the title is yet to actually release.
What I've seen of the proposed changes... it looks like things will be bad if not worse. Twisted Elites being dodgable sounds good, but obviously the dodge-able projectile becomes more deadly. Melee Survivors and Engineer get shutdown by this. You might say time your melee, but when Uku or AtG procs you'll proc the Elite's counter in their face. A new white tier movement item clogging the white tier, it also gives barrier while making you even faster so the barrier is redundant. This is either going to be a better Goat Hoof making the Hoof clutter or this is clutter. A few movement items are good, but too many leads to problems, if people are not getting enough movement items you should rework item spawning to do something like ensure 1 exists a stage for the first 3 stages. With the initial version they shown an inability, and with their proposed revision they show the same issues.
It is flat-out impossible for the Twisted elites to be "more deadly" than their current state. Besides, you can see in the Gearbox video that the Twisted projectile hangs above their head for several seconds charging up. Melee survivors will have ample time to get out of the way, and it's entremely visually obvious -- although Engi turrets are definitely fucked. There are two movement items in the white tier right now. A third one is not going to cause issues with clutter. "Clutter" is a problem in the white tier because you're getting a niche item instead of an essential base stat boost -- this antler rework is a base stat boost that also gives a bit of health. Plus, movement speed doesn't make additional protection "redundant." You don't just hit a threshold where you never take damsge again if you're fast enough, at least not until late looping; otherwise people would be saying that a goat hoof printer is a guaranteed win every time. Are all health items clutter if you can just not get hit? Don't get me wrong, I understand the skepticism. Gearbox fucking destroyed the game's balance with this DLC. But just saying that problems still exist when they're clearly being fixed doesn't help anything.
@cosmicskydragon333 i think these are some very heavy claims to make when they arent in the game yet. 1 more movement white does not cause item bloat for movement items. There are only 4 white movement items, 5 if you count warbanner.
