    You say basic Mark but that’s just that particular bike probably low spec because it’s the demonstrator. There’s no electronic suspension on the lowered version but you can have this on the normal height version, and with added packs it does comes with rain, road, dynamic and enduro. You can tour easily on it as well I’ve been round Spain on the 750 version two up with the luggage from my 1250, fits straight on panniers and top box. I’ve added the 850 adv screen and the emergency services sat nav mount. According to BMW speed wise it’s 0.6 seconds slower to 60 than the 1250 and that’s the 750, the 800 is a little faster so the gap will be closed a bit more. I’m not sure a sub 4 second 0-60 is particularly slow and it tops out about 125mph. Maybe you need to do a little research prior to a review.

      I agree. It’s not at all basic. Cruise control, Brembo with dual front discs, TC, ABS, 4 ride modes. I own the low chassis version because I’m 5’1”, not a women. My wife and I go on weekend tours often. Being dismissive of this bike and criticizing its so-called lack of features makes the narrator seem pretty ignorant. It has everything that the 1250 GS does in a smaller displacement.

    That screen is a joke for a bike that is intended to do a lot of miles.

    This is just "my opinion/ experience", I had the previous 750 version and found it to be just ok (7/ 10). My main gripes were poor quick shifter ("only" really smooth when accelerating very HARD, particularly from 1st to 3rd, after that it was ok/ just fair). Also, I could never find a good aftermarket windscreen that would provide "decent/ good wind" protection (If I were to have kept the 750, I would most likely have gone back to its small windscreen, because it caused no helmet buffeting). Anyway YMMV

    Low spec ? Whatever did we do back in the 80’s. 😂

    I had a test ride on one the other week and found the rear brake rubbish very poor. You can get ESA suspension plus lots as other BMW accessories. Does not say on BMW website and does not offer a lowered f800gs. Only the seat is offered in different size. Don't agree you could use it two up. If i was down sizing from my R1250RT its one to look at

      Actually if you connect your phone to the bike, it will display nav data on the main display.
      The sat nav option is useless.

      I have a 2022 s1000rr. The BMW app navigation is garbage. Keeps on freezing and lagging. I ended up putting my tomtom on a stem mount. @marcbibeau1416

    I love the idea of a gs but being a 5ft 4ins female there is no chance I could ever have one purely because of the seat height on them. I reckon this bike would be ok for me. I will have to have a ride to my bmw dealer and have a look. Manufacturers need to start catering more for us short legged folk 😊

      Im pretty sure you will love this bike. And dont pay attention to some of the stuff this review talked about as it was full of errors and poor comparisons. Encourage you to to go into a dealer and give it a go.

    Always felt this one looked cheap compared to the other BMWs. Maybe offroad wheels and a bit more cladding.

      Loved the bike and it really is awesome but unfortunately it had some issues that I was not prepared to accept. That said the guy who bought it loves it and all the issues were solved I believe. I would definitely have another or the 900 GSA.

  • @merrilywillis377

    Really at 5 foot 10 you really were not the right person to review this bike . OR you should have reviewed it from the perspective of the rider who would buy the lowered version. It also is actually very well specked up and not “basic” at all compared to previous models - there is more on this F800 than the previous F750 ?? And why are you comparing it with a GSA? You would have been better comparing the one you were on with the same Sport or Triple black versions - which by the way, both have cruise control. This review was really not very well done Im sorry. You did not sound as though you had researched the model in the context of previous or even current like models. By the way - they have growly engines LOL

    At first glance I don’t like it. It is bulky I prefer the design of triumph tiger 900. Then, a bike that cost 13000 euros and is created for adv/touring but without a decent windshield.

    • @tarjanyigy
      @tarjanyigy 5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it is but has less power. F800: 87HP, F900: 105HP
      To be honest up to 6750 rpm both of them has absolutely the same power and torque character, only above this is the difference. At 8000 rpm starts the red area, so the gap between the 87 HP and 105 HP you can enjoy under this huuuuuge 1250 rpm... doesn't really matter.
