I remember watching this documentary. She kept a video journal and she said she feels like something is coming for her. A day before this accident she came upon a wreck where a boy passed away. She kept his shoes saying she believes death mistook the boy for her because his last name was Lopes as well and the boys moms name was Lesa. Then the wreck happened and I was literally dumbfounded watching the rest of the documentary.
She didn’t come upon the wreck, her vehicle literally ran him over. Her assistant was driving but Lisa was in the car and she took the boy into the vehicle and cradled him all the way to the hospital. She also paid all the expenses for his funeral and extra funds the family might need. Yes, she thought the same last name was a bad omen, although that name is very common.

This video will always haunt me, ever since I was a kid, this part played on the TV, around 11 or 10 at night, I was sitting on the bed, while my mom slept and my siblings were sleeping on the floor, when the car crash part came and it cut to black, I slept as close as I can to my mom that night to feel safe.

From what I heard she was trying to avoid a vehicle in front of her and that is why she lost control of her own car. Just shows that anything can happen to you in a split second. I was driving my car on my local highway at 2 in the morning. I was going home after work. I was driving minding my own business when i heard a loud bang. I pulled over and discovered that the car who passed me up shot at my car for no reason. The bullet missed me by 3 feet. Luckily no one was in the back seat or they might of been hurt. I did nothing to deserve it, But someone could of ended my life for no reason. How does your wife and daughter able to handle such a thing? I was lucky. God bless everyone...

They edited out of respect because it was believed she smashed her head somewhere during the accident . If you see her autopsy photo you can see the gash on her head. They also wanted to air it on TV. So I can see why they edited it like that

She looked tired as hell and not there because she hadn't eaten substantial food in days. She was only in that country to go to a retreat where she was on a strict diet and a cleanse, which she has done many times before. It was really important to her. Lack of food is proven to cause dizziness and fatigue and I really think that's what she was suffering with when she crashed, including the mourning from a different fatal car incident she was involved in days before. Watching this again in 2023. She most likely tried to pass a vehicle and realized that SUV didn’t have enough power get pass with 10 people in it. To avoid a head on collision, she swerved into the ditch. This brings chills to me because I was in a similar situation in College driving through some country roads in NC. I went to overtake a car with my little Honda civic being packed with my friends. A car was coming fast and i barely made it. It was like once i committed, there was no turning back. That was about 25 years ago and we still bring that up from time to time.

Dumb question and/or thought. According to Google she had 7 passengers in the car, her and 5 others were ejected from the vehicle when the car flipped. So how was it that she is the only one that died and everyone else survived? I get she was not wearing a seatbelt. But did anyone see how the car looked after it crashed? It was nearly smashed. The other 2 in the car would’ve been dead instantly because their body would’ve been in pieces. And the 5 that were also ejected from the vehicle? Why was she the only one killed? Also, she was buried and had an open casket, thousands of people went to a viewing of her and she was able to be seen from the waist up to her head. Which means her face was fine. So what was the actual cause of her death, then? I know it’s “traffic collision” but I am talking about her body, evidently her body above the waist was ok enough to be in an open casket, and she didn’t get blunt force trauma. So… I’m confused. There was 10 people, She likely would have took it worse than everyone else because she could have slammed her head on the wheel, the roof, rocks trees and then the ground.. she died from something to do with her head anyway, She was apparently found far from the Mitsubishi aswell so that could explain why she’s the only one who died and they had to clean up her face she had bruises and wounds if you look at the autopsy.

The newspaper says that Lisa was the only one wearing her seat belt but from what I saw on the video, nobody was wearing their seat belts including Lisa Lopes.
this is why seatbelts exist, most people who die in accidents or rollover accidents. It’s normally because of the seatbelt, and they don’t tell you this, but most people get thrown from the vehicle and crushed by it, ran over by other vehicles, or their skull slams into the pavement like a watermelon. The wallet had nothing to do with the accident. There was a car not so far in front of them. That car came to a halt because there was a another car that came to a stop before it. Lisa tried to avoid hitting it head on by swerving to the left but whilst doing so she had lost control, they were going quite fast as they were travelling on a highway. The hydraulics and traction at that speed made the car impossible to stop so that's why she lost control of the vehicle.
Yes but she didn't notice the car stopped in front of her until it was too late because she was handing that Coca Cola box to the girl in the back. I rear ended someone the same way, I looked in the back seat for a second for my purse and when I looked back a car had stopped in front of me. When your on a road going a high rate of speed and cars don't usually stop because there are no houses around you don't think a car is gonna be at a dead stop in front of you and if you look away for a few seconds it can happen.

Supposedly a truck ahead of her wasn’t moving or driving slowly. She Slammed on the breaks and swerved into the opposite lane to avoid a crash. But there was an oncoming car in that opposite lane, so she swerved right to avoid the car, and swerved back to left to stay on the road but lost control. And I don’t see a seatbelt across her neck.
It looks like she was the only one that wearing a seatbelt so that may have contributed, but she was the driver, so at least she had more control than everyone else in the vehicle did

From what I heard she was trying to avoid a vehicle in front of her and that is why she lost control of her own car. Just shows that anything can happen to you in a split second. I was driving my car on my local highway at 2 in the morning. I was going home after work. I was driving minding my own business when i heard a loud bang. I pulled over and discovered that the car who passed me up shot at my car for no reason. The bullet missed me by 3 feet. Luckily no one was in the back seat or they might of been hurt. I did nothing to deserve it, But someone could of ended my life for no reason. How does your wife and daughter able to handle such a thing? I was lucky. God bless everyone...

She looked tired as hell and not there because she hadn't eaten substantial food in days. She was only in that country to go to a retreat where she was on a strict diet and a cleanse, which she has done many times before. It was really important to her. Lack of food is proven to cause dizziness and fatigue and I really think that's what she was suffering with when she crashed, including the mourning from a different fatal car incident she was involved in days before. She was going through a lot when this happened. Her mind wasn't all there

Watching this again in 2023. She most likely tried to pass a vehicle and realized that SUV didn’t have enough power get pass with 10 people in it. To avoid a head on collision, she swerved into the ditch. This brings chills to me because I was in a similar situation in College driving through some country roads in NC. I went to overtake a car with my little Honda civic being packed with my friends. A car was coming fast and i barely made it. It was like once i committed, there was no turning back. That was about 25 years ago and we still bring that up from time to time.

Dumb question and/or thought. According to Google she had 7 passengers in the car, her and 5 others were ejected from the vehicle when the car flipped. So how was it that she is the only one that died and everyone else survived? I get she was not wearing a seatbelt. But did anyone see how the car looked after it crashed? It was nearly smashed. The other 2 in the car would’ve been dead instantly because their body would’ve been in pieces. And the 5 that were also ejected from the vehicle? Why was she the only one killed? Also, she was buried and had an open casket, thousands of people went to a viewing of her and she was able to be seen from the waist up to her head. Which means her face was fine. So what was the actual cause of her death, then? I know it’s “traffic collision” but I am talking about her body, evidently her body above the waist was ok enough to be in an open casket, and she didn’t get blunt force trauma. So… I’m confused. this is why seatbelts exist, most people who die in accidents or rollover accidents. It’s normally because of the seatbelt, and they don’t tell you this, but most people get thrown from the vehicle and crushed by it, ran over by other vehicles, or their skull slams into the pavement like a watermelon. It’s pretty much like riding a motorcycle at that point with no helmet

In the paper it said, "Lopes, who was wearing her SEAT BELT, was the ONLY fatality." But if you look before the accident, Lopes WASN'T wearing a seat belt and when you see where the camera was point down at her seat, the SEAT BELT was OFF. Also, the young women in the back DID NOT have on seat belts or lap belts either, but Lopes was the ONLY FATALITY! (Things that make you go Hmmm🤨)

The wallet had nothing to do with the accident. There was a car not so far in front of them. That car came to a halt because there was a another car that came to a stop before it. Lisa tried to avoid hitting it head on by swerving to the left but whilst doing so she had lost control, they were going quite fast as they were travelling on a highway. The hydraulics and traction at that speed made the car impossible to stop so that's why she lost control of the vehicle.
Yes but she didn't notice the car stopped in front of her until it was too late because she was handing that Coca Cola box to the girl in the back. I rear ended someone the same way, I looked in the back seat for a second for my purse and when I looked back a car had stopped in front of me. When your on a road going a high rate of speed and cars don't usually stop because there are no houses around you don't think a car is gonna be at a dead stop in front of you and if you look away for a few seconds it can happen.

If she was able to drive normally that clearly means she was paying attention,in fact the Coca Cola wallet was already passed to the girl and she kept driving,do you even know how car works,people don’t have quick reflexes and the car controls are locked and loses control

Supposedly a truck ahead of her wasn’t moving or driving slowly. She Slammed on the breaks and swerved into the opposite lane to avoid a crash. But there was an oncoming car in that opposite lane, so she swerved right to avoid the car, and swerved back to left to stay on the road but lost control. And I don’t see a seatbelt across her neck.

I loved her! I was shocked and saddened when this happened. So beautiful and talented. Sadly, left eye was distracted and turned the wheel onto oncoming traffic. You can see the crash was precipitated by her turning to look away from the road and back to pass that Coca Cola tin she had been holding. Just drive, people.
