Back in the 1950's when I was but a child, my mum and dad didn't have much...though I only remember being happily well off! We did have a radiogram, though ..and my mum, originally from Eglinton, near Derry used to play this record...and tell us stories about "home." Liam Griffin.
i'm sat here only 2 months my non sectarian grandmother lost her fight for life listening to this........................ We love you and we will learn our history.
Nice tune and well sung song but I think she means Londonderry on the Banks on the Foyle. Does she also mean by the last verse when the Republicans forced people out of their homes by acts of genocide and violence. Over the foam from City side to East bank or in my case to further afield. Under siege in 1688 and still under siege now but the Fountain Estate still doesn't fly the Tri Colour of the Republic
