When I was a young lad away back in the 1950s, we lived next door to a popular pub! We also had a wireless capable (depending on favourable atmospheric conditions) of receiving a signal from a London station which used a transmitter in luxembourg, and it was therefore called "Radio luxembourg" It was essentially a commercial pop music station (hence my childish interest) but on Saturday evenings it broadcast a programme called 'Irish Requests'!! For thirty minutes on Saturday nights, the entire clientele of the pub relocated to my mothers front door in the hope that a 'Bridie' record would be played (every man was word perfect as they lustily (if tunelessly) accompanied her singing) I moved abroad from Leitrim in 1965 and have no wish to return..but I can still remember, and tunelessly croak every word of the 'Hills of Donegal'

Mr C , any economic migrant needs Jesus in his heart - then he can face a lion, and will never be lonely, never feel isolated.
My father was the youngest of ten, came from Gubnageer, Leitrim in 1920. The whole family settled in Wishaw ,Scotland. As time went on six of his brothers and sisters went and settled in America.
My mother’s father was from Manorcunningham.
We liked Scotland and prayed often and put our trust in God. My father, God rest him raised 12 of us on a welder’s wage. We always considered ourselves well off and had sufficient for our needs. Mam and Dad often said they would retire in Ireland. But like your mother it never happened.
When I see the plight of refugees I remember the hardships of many who came here from Ireland. The least we can do for refugees is MAKE THEM WELCOME. These people are God’s children like you and me .
The pre born baby is under attack on all fronts. Each and everyone of us has a duty to save the baby, help the ladies and stop the crazies doing abortion. The test of a true Irishman is how he personally works to protect the baby. All for Jesus.

Never heard or seen this lady sing before, I'm blown away by the video. She was before my time but this ranks up with the best of the modern videos. Her voice is a perfect match as the background to these awesome views.
