You need to rewatch this ( several times) to connect everything you learned, and how things came about. Love Jamie's words to Claire at the stones. All so well written.
I agree with what so many are saying... this is one of the best, maybe THE best, episode of Outlander (though there are still many amazing ones to come Evie, don't worry ;) ). They managed to wrap up most of season 2's loose ends, and open the door to season 3 so perfectly, all in one episode. And it doesn't feel rushed or contrived! The emotions are intense and the acting is impeccable (Clair on the steps of Lalybroch in 1968 grabs me at my core, every time). And I love the much needed moments of relief as well (the Rat Satire is fantastic!). I love all links between episodes/seasons and between characters (the dragonfly in amber; Brianna getting chills at Fort William; the way Roger says "Fucking BarBQ" just like Geillis in S1E10?11?; the way Brianna says to Clair "I don't understand it but I believe you" like Jamie in S1E11). So much irony, so many Easter eggs. So much .
I know!!! While editing this episode, knowing what I know now it was so cool to see all these little details! I definitely noticed something I hadn't before when Roger and Geilis first meet, it's like Geilis knows who he is or she feels it idk but I thought that was awesome! :)
Think back to the first episode this season-Claire screaming at the stones. It's come full circle, This episode closes the whole season. Fills in most questions.
I love when they go back and forth in time to tell you the story like they did with the wedding. No one can not love this episode, that almost "dance" they did to reach the stone and the words said are like, unbelievable passionate and moving.
I love your reactions! Adorable and right on point. I just realized as I was watching you that this phenomena would be a great thesis subject for a student of group psychology: why fans of Outlander love watching new fans go through all the emotions they themselves had previously experienced when reading or watching. I'm so glad I found your channel! 🥰
I can't tell you how much I love this episode. I've seen it so many times and I cry through it all and you breaking down just made me do the same. ....again. I am on book seven and I have to say this is the best series of TV and books that I have ever watched or read. I am looking forward to seeing your reactions through season 3. Much love to you Evie !
It’s my favorite episode. Read the second book, I was BAWLING when they parted ways literally shaking saying “nooo”😭 📕 I wish they kept the “mark me” scene where they carve their initials into one another’s hands J🖐️ C ✋
Loved your reaction, always do. There are Roger haters out there (because of later eps) but my one beef with the show is how they wrote his character in S3. He's much more nuanced in the books and really one of the best, kindest characters in the whole series. And I heartily disagree with those who expect a 20 year old girl who's just had a major, heartbreaking shock to behave rationally. Sophie plays her just right. An interesting historical note: at the end when Roger shares the letter about one of the Frasers escaping execution that's a 100% true letter. When Diana Gabaldon came across it in her research she knew her hero had to be named Fraser. There's a lot of meshing of true history and fiction in the books which I find really satisfying. Looking forward to seeing your S3 reactions!
Simply wonderful 🤍 I loved the way the episode develops and, again, everything is explained💯 I have to admit... I cried 90% of the time when I saw it for the first time 😭😭I'm impressed how you don't, with Claire in his grave and when she found the dragonfly in amber that she gave it to him😢 It was really intense. 🤍🤍 Season 3 will be fantastic Waiting for the next reactions
Gaileas Duncan was a real person. She was from Prestonpans(where the battle was-not the same era though). She was a maid servant and was accused of witchcraft and tortured before being burned at the stake at Edinburgh castle. However the confession she made during torture set of a chain reaction that resulted in thousands of others being accused and then executed all over Scotland.

@@MultiJeanette1 - Thanks Jeanette! There are so many very good Outlander reactors, but I think Evie's insights and sensibilities for this show - especially for Clare and Jamie are the best I've encountered.
As I laid out in my main comment here... I thought Evie's reaction was flawless... not only because of Clare and Jamie in the past, and Clare and Roger and Geillis/Jillian in the 1968 present, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY BECAUSE she absolutely GOT and LOVED BRIANA!!! To all those who don't 1000% appreciate the Meryl Streep/Katherine Hepburn perfection level capture and portrayal that Sophie Skelton miraculously gives of a 19-20year old girl who has had a history of betrayed feelings with her mother and abruptly learns that the only dad she's ever known is NOT her biological father... may NOT BE... well, is not quite thinking this performance through. In fact, if the nuances in the Briana portrayal deviated in any way from how Sophie delivered her... Briana would be less believeable.... less true to life... less perfect. Those folks who don't... "intrinsically like" the disenchanted and immature, yet bright/rational-thinking and head-strong woman...(like her parents)... perhaps that's exactly the "discomfort" you are meant to take away. I think Evie got this Briana reaction absolutely right, and IMHO, Sophie Skelton as Briana is an actor/role made in heaven.
Oh I loved your reactions! Your emotions mirrored mine the first time(or two or three...)I watched this episode. It is one p of the best, if not THE best, of all seasons. The last half of S2 and the first half of S3 are some of my favorites. And more of your questions will be answered. So glad you love this show!
@@eviereacts I can't wait to see your reactions to them! Like I said, I love the first half of S3. Last half, not so much, but there are some GREAT scenes. Just as a whole, it's not my favorite. You may love them, though. Some do. Everyone is different.
@@jbeard2732 I've seen until 3x11 and I do enjoy the second half but it's definitely different from anything we've ever seen! I'll be watching the last two episodes soon so i'm curious to see how it'll end and set things up for season 4! First half though..... I was bamboozled hahahhaha

This was an outstanding episode. 👏 your emotions and opinions on pretty much every thing and every character have been an exact reflection of my own when I watched Outlander for the first time.
My favorite episode, not just because it's SO good, but because it introduced my favorite Outlander character, Brianna! I was reading these books when I was pregnant with my oldest child 15 years ago, and I loved her character and I loved her name! My husband agreed, and it was even better because my brother Brian started having health problems around the same time, so this would be like naming our daughter after my brother. God must've agreed as well, because my daughter Brianna, nickname Bree, was born on my brother's birthday! And while my Bree doesn't have red hair, she has a lot of characteristics of the Outlander Bree. I can't wait for her to be old enough to watch this show with me! She already knows a lot about it, and always takes OL Bree's side in any storyline situation I'm telling her about lol. So excited for the next season, there's so much good stuff happening!!
@MamaSeesa - Thank you for sharing this meaningful origin story of your daughter. When she's ready, I hope your Bree will join us as a fan of this epic adventure-romance story. For her... this extraordinary series should be even just a little more special. (BTW, I've never had any issue whatsoever with Sophie Skelton's brilliant, nuanced, and believable performance playing her... because from the instant Roger and I saw that lovely young woman, I was immediately and totally smitten with and 100% believed in this brilliant, strong-minded and wonderful, good-hearted woman... Brianna Randall-Fraser-McKenzie.)
Hi Evie the addition of Brianna and Roger gives us another layer of great character's.You asked what's Jamie been doing for 20 years? that's well covered next season and Claire's story too.As always your thoughts are spot on.No one likes seeing you upset but Outlander just keeps giving and taking and we've all been there. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to season 3. Lol💓 take care!🇬🇧
@evie. I’m so glad I found your channel. Three of my favorite series that I binge watched: outlander, vampire diaries, originals and lucifer! Looking forward to rewatching and seeing your reactions!
I told ya you would get a lot of answers in the season finaly, but you still must watch every episode so very carefully for all those easter eggs , Great reaction loved it, on to season 3
A lot of things will make sense later i.e. the buzzing, only the truth between us (When you tell me something let it be the truth) and the Dragonfly in Amber keepsake Claire gave Jamie @ the stones did you notice when Claire went to the site @ Culloden the married couple looking in the glass cabinet there was the stone when Claire was telling the gentlemen that Bonnie Prince Charlie was a fool. Go back and look if you didn’t notice. There are so many GREAT tidbits in this episode you will remember coming up later in future episodes. I am on book 9 Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone. I went to see several sites where they filmed in Scotland in May of this year it was incredible. Scotland is a beautiful country and as you have noticed a huge part of the series. I will continue to watch your reactions of Outlander as you move through the series ENJOY!!
Evie your getting through the episodes. i’m so glad you love them. i hope your well? you’ll enjoy season 3 just as much so i won’t give anything away. i see you’ve started watching lucifer now i adored that show and finished all six seasons a while ago now. Another show you should check out is the umbrella academy it’s on netflix. my fave member of the umbrella academy is five. He’s a 58 year old assasin who time-travels and got stuck in the body of a 13 year old. it’s kinda like a show about dysfunctional superheroes. take care and stay safe 🏴😘
Evie: starts bawling at the stones scene me: hahaahaha she thought she wasnt gonna cry ahhaahah poor thing ahhahahaahhaah also let me appreciate the fact that you loved Brianna. you are a rare gem among people who hated her in/from this episode.
I love how intense and passionate your reactions are to this series. We meet Brianna and see how much she shows up with Jamie and I'm not physically with her beautiful red hair like her biological father's temperament. Roger I have to admit it's a nice surprise and yes the character is very important to the story. since her parents Dougal and Geillis we saw both of them in this episode. I have reservations about the character for some attitudes of his and he is not one of my favorites by far but Wow, I remember the first time I watched this episode, I suffered like a motherfucker along with Claire. her visiting the places and investigating Jamie and the people she's met in the past and what they've become. the tear in the document in the past and the document in the present staining on account of the tear is chilling. yes she lived those years as a ghost, she was happiest when they were studying and working. and of course when they were with their daughter. We'll see more of those Claire years in Season 3 and how she lived through them. Brianna is completely in love with her father Frank. because he was much more present to her than her mother. she harbors a grudge against Claire. will further explore her relationship at the beginning of the next season. I love that Jamie knew Claire was pregnant before she did. scene where they are in bed and Claire is sleeping and Jamie starts talking and touches her belly, there he was already talking to his daughter. Their farewell scene in front of the stone would always tear me apart. Looking forward to you finding out everything that has happened in Jamie's life during these years away from Claire. And a lot of patience because the reunion of Jamie and Claire usually takes a long time.
I've got to go with "A. Malcom" when she returns. They know each other yet are strangers. They love and trust each other yet are shy and afraid. They are both so desperate to be accepted back it breaks my heart.
I binged the whole series just this year, but imagine watching this episode (best season finale!!!!) and then having to wait a whole year to see what happens next!!!! Droughtlanders are long man, I'm so looking forward for season 7. There's this video that you need to watch after you finish the whole seasons, where the actors talk about that scene at the standing stones and Caitriona tears up a little bit, it's so sweet.
The series is wonderful but I think it was another one of those shows that became a victim of COVID-19 with an obvous drop in quality in Season 6 in terms of the budget and writing but i can forgive it because Hopefully things return to normal in S7. The finale of S6 was pretty decent and set up things pretty well for an exciting return to form.
I think this is my absolute favorite episode of the entire show even though I dislike how the actress plays Brianna SOOOOOO EFFING MUCH. The motivations behind Brianna's anger toward Claire make perfect sense, overall - but the way she played them was so awkward and her pacing was strange. I think the actress might've just been struggling a bit with her American accent so she couldn't get her inflection to match her physical acting. It took another 2 seasons for me to even warm up to Brianna because of that. She just seemed so MEAN and cruel. The way she opens the door and shouts "WHAT?!?" at Roger when he arrives for Christmas. She didn't know it was him - so she was going to yell like that at a complete stranger! Like wtf, lol!
lol! I just finished typing how I thought the acting was impeccable but you know what... you're right!! It took me a long time to warm up to Brianna as well. Now that I've watched all seasons a few times through, I had forgotten that. Maybe just got used to her. I'm not sure if it was Sophie Skelton's acting that made it feel a little off or the character of Brianna that just made me uncomfortable (being bold in many ways but ultimately young and a little foolish and very insecure). But yes, at first, something about her bugged me too! "I think the actress might've just been struggling a bit with her American accent so she couldn't get her inflection to match her physical acting." ...and maybe that was it!
@@Adrienne1eh Yes! I remember thinking she was so cold and casually cruel - the exact opposite of both Jaime and Claire. I only feel differently from the most recent season.
@crissi mora - I appreciate your take on Sophie Skelton's portrayal of Briana Randell, but I have to respectfully say that I see this entire actor-in-role as a near perfect embodiment of an immature (barely 20 year old) young woman who has a disjointed and disenchanted relationship with her mother, who abruply learns about her biological father in the most unbelievable terms... I just don't think this young, rational-thinking, head-strong woman placed in this 'most unusual context,' could be expected to react any other way or be played any better than Sophie Skelton did.
@@TerryYelmene Yeah, I'm not talking about her motivations or character (other than being weirdly mean, which is not what got from the books). I'm talking about the awkward acting itself.
@@czest-d7f - I just liked your comment solely because I think your opinion here may be more common than my own. I went back to the most popular Outlander reacters.. like Mary and Blake's OutlanderCast and the Outlander Purgatory sisters for some reference... Tracy and Carol (OLPurgatory) absolutely TORCHED the introduction of Sophie Skelton as Briana in Df-in-A! They completely HATED HER. It was so bad I was compelled to post a "wait-a-minute" comment. OutlanderCast was much more forgiving, but of course, Blake was a bit harsher than Mary on Sophie. Again for me, the character introduced here was the perfect representation of a hurt, confused, young adult woman who had a strained relationship with her mother, who was being told about her completely unbelievable parentage out of the blue. I totally believe "meanness" might be interpreted from the actions of a believable person put in that situation and I found the portrayal to be... flawless!

Such an amazing finale
Evie your getting through the episodes. i’m so glad you love them. i hope your well? you’ll enjoy season 3 just as much so i won’t give anything away. i see you’ve started watching lucifer now i adored that show and finished all six seasons a while ago now. Another show you should check out is the umbrella academy it’s on netflix. my fave member of the umbrella academy is five. He’s a 58 year old assasin who time-travels and got stuck in the body of a 13 year old. it’s kinda like a show about dysfunctional superheroes. take care and stay safe 🏴😘
Evie: starts bawling at the stones scene
me: hahaahaha she thought she wasnt gonna cry ahhaahah poor thing ahhahahaahhaah
also let me appreciate the fact that you loved Brianna. you are a rare gem among people who hated her in/from this episode.
absolutely love your reactions
I love how intense and passionate your reactions are to this series.
We meet Brianna and see how much she shows up with Jamie and I'm not physically with her beautiful red hair like her biological father's temperament. Roger I have to admit it's a nice surprise and yes the character is very important to the story. since her parents Dougal and Geillis we saw both of them in this episode. I have reservations about the character for some attitudes of his and he is not one of my favorites by far but
Wow, I remember the first time I watched this episode, I suffered like a motherfucker along with Claire. her visiting the places and investigating Jamie and the people she's met in the past and what they've become. the tear in the document in the past and the document in the present staining on account of the tear is chilling. yes she lived those years as a ghost, she was happiest when they were studying and working. and of course when they were with their daughter.
Brianna, named after Jamie's father Brian
This show only gets better with every season and every episode. Keep it up and stay safe 👍
My Fav episode
Imagine having to wait over a year for the next season
This is my favorite episode of the entire show.
I've got to go with "A. Malcom" when she returns. They know each other yet are strangers. They love and trust each other yet are shy and afraid. They are both so desperate to be accepted back it breaks my heart.
@@Blue-rl5dp That one is in my top 5 and the first few minutes are close to #1, but as far as the entire episode, Dragonfly in Amber is better.
Watching because I want to cry all over again with you 😞
I binged the whole series just this year, but imagine watching this episode (best season finale!!!!) and then having to wait a whole year to see what happens next!!!!
Still bothers me that Brianna isn't 6 feet tall lol
I totally believe "meanness" might be interpreted from the actions of a believable person put in that situation and I found the portrayal to be... flawless!
