They did have the exhibition catalouge at the gallery and might have some left over if you contact them. A fitting comparison and still hard to believe that the Charcoal Heads were painted just after WW2 and these in the COVID pandemic!
I love the drawings! The paintings don’t make sense close up, but in one of the last shots you made I caught one at a distance and it looked incredible. Thanks for sharing this mate!
Hi George. This looks great, I can see why you were so excited! There are a couple of Auerbach paintings here in the Thyssen in Madrid and I was looking at one the other day (Head of J.Y.M), amazing stuff!
Interesting that there are strong parallels to your work. I found these late works powerful. You might be interested to hear that he is showing older works at the Courtauld Gallery from the 9th Februarycourtauld.ac.uk/whats-on/exh-frank-auerbach-the-charcoal-heads/ Thank you for watching.
Hello, Frank Auerbach is an important part of my art, I have been doing a series since 2008 and I just got to know Frank's painting two years ago and I realized that we speak the same pictorial language, thanks for showing us your latest works, for me it is a great reference that completes my work, greetings from Arequipa Peru
Wow - thank you so much for watching from Peru. It is interesting to hear that your work shares a similar language to Auerbach - a very distinct artistic language.. It was spine tingling to see such works being produced in his twilight years of a great artists career.
@@artgalleryexplorer I guess, at some point I hope I can go to England to exhibit my work and see Frank's works live, thanks for showing his latest paintings
The works are in context as never before today. RIP Frank Auerbach.
Very much so. RIP Frank. Some Auerbach coming soon on the channel.
Thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching - I am still thinking about these self portraits.
Once again, thankyou George, if not for your Vlog I’d never have seen this work. This is why we go out in search of Art. Sated for sure, for now.🙏🇬🇧
Thank you so much and stay tuned. Some very early Auerbach work is coming up on the vlog from The Courtauld show.
Love Auerbach so much, these new works are still as exciting as his very first drawings and paintings… thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching - I felt an incredible rush seeing these works!
Remarkably perceptive self portraits from the master. I must find the exhibition catalogue. I love the Art Vlog thank you.

A fantastic late flowering! I'm glad there are a couple of works in Madrid. I wasn't aware of that.
One of the artists that speaks so clearly to me. Recenty discovered and with strong parallels to my own prints/

Looks like packets of memory, falling away. Being left with the early circumstances which shaped and caged one's experience on earth for company.
I think so. There is a definite sense of stripping back, breaking down.
