In this video we will be exploring The Charcoal Heads by Frank Auerbach at the Courtauld Gallery inside London's Somerset House.
In this exhibition, the gallery has brought together Auerbachs’ large-scale charcoal portraits, created early in his career between the 1950s and early 1960s and paired them with selected paintings featuring the same sitters, demonstrating the dialogue between the two mediums.

What is remarkable about his works is that they are avant-garde despite the fact that they express sadness and decay of spirit, which only confirms that the creative force is a life force. I prefer your presentations and selection of exhibitions to anything I've seen on RUclips👌, the only thing missing at the end is your walking feet 😉
