Great video for those that have never owned a soft top vehicle. I will say that the road noise inside the Bronco soft top is no worse than the 2 convertible cars I have in the driveway. Just consider the added noise as being part of the experience.
This video is exactly what I wanted to see. Im amazed at how quiet it sounded at 75 mph inside the cabin. While there is more noise than a normal car, you could still carry on a conversation without too much extra effort. The convenience of the soft top supercedes the advantages of the hard top IMO.
You really have no idea since it all depends on the microphone quality and the quality of the speakers you're listening on. That sounded very loud to me, and the whistling was unacceptable.
The whistling I believe has been determine by members of Bronco6g to be related to the side view mirror design. There is a seam that joins the two pieces of the mirror together creating the whistle at higher speeds. We will do some more testing once ours is back on the road and hope to get a decibel meter to perform a true test. If I had to compare the sound to anything it would be like leaving a rear window open on a typical car around 1 inch, just like in a soft top Wrangler and most convertibles. Luckily for us the top and doors have been on long enough to shoot this video.

Yes great real life video for once. Probably the best I have seen. Congrats on your Bronco. I changed to a soft top soon after I realized I couldn't get a Mod Top for 2021. I am still on the waiting to build date list. I am a Day 7 reservation holder so have no idea if that is good for a 2021 or not. BTW, do you post on Bronco6G. Your pic looks familiar?
Thank you so much! Yes, we are part of Bronco6G. The waiting game is the hardest part with all this. We were one day shy of waiting a full year from our reservation to receiving it. It is worth the wait, though!
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV ouch. Curious what day your reservation was. BTW, I live in Charlotte, NC but had a huge project on Egmont Key (Fort Dade) several years ago so spent some time in Tampa area. We had to jump on a Pilot Harbor Boat Assoc tug at Fort Desoto pier to get there. Great memories. Overall I found Tampa similar to Charlotte as far as demographics, culture, size, etc.
I ended up putting the doors on off camera which is probably a good thing. It was quite tricky the first time. We will be sure to get the process on video now that I have done it once. We are also coming up with a DIY door cart because these doors are heavy and rather large.
The top is super easy to operate. I can put it up with a single hand. The security is the same as a jeep or any convertible. Best to keep belongings out of sight.
I would agree if someone doesn't mind waiting especially if you live up north. From November through April we do not see much rain so we probably won't have the top installed at all.
I highly recommend Carvana! They gave me about 5k more than all dealerships offered me for my vehicle. If you don't have a Carvana near you try carmax. You can do it online on their websites to see that value they would give u!
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV my quote from Carvava was $2500 more then dealer I bought the car from. Only $1,100 less then new in 2019. A friend then you recommended them glad I listened. Thanks
Have you tried using bungee cords to "squoosh" the top down and see if that gives you better visibility from the rear view? Apparently people do this with Jeeps. We test drove a demo unit and noticed the same thing regarding rear visibility. Thank you.
The straps that come with the softop are meant to hold the frame together to keep it from bouncing when the top is half open. It was in a "How to video" a few months ago, don't remember exactly but think it was a Bronco Nation video.
What kind of mpg does it get? Would you think it would make a good daily driver? Great demo with the soft top, very interesting with the clips. I have an old Wrangler with zipper windows and it could easily turn into a 30 minute job putting the top back up.
I am using this as my daily driver. Right now I am getting about 19.5mpg, mainly because i have been sitting idle in the car messing with things and getting to know it. I do plan for it to get better once I start driving the vehicle more.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Thanks! That's not too bad for mpg considering the type of vehicle it is. The cool factor of the Bronco is off the charts. We don't take our cars through the car wash, but I don't see how it could hurt it. Also we live in Florida, so not sure of the heat, but it does stay cool in the hot summer so I would assume it would keep it warm in the winter.
I think mine is avg around 18.3 right now, but I have sat idle with the car on and not driving like I usually would. Pretty close, I will do an update on mpg once I get some more miles on her.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I have a Bronco Sport Outer Banks with the 1.5 and I get 34.5 mpg highway, 20-23 mpg city depends on how aggressive I am with the gas pedal. But I like the big Bronco for its better cargo space and overall bigger size and capabilities. And the cool factor is off the charts, so I have a Big Bronco wildtrak on order. I don't use it on my whole bike frame.. just where the chain can hit the frame.. and maybe underneath where rocks can damage/scratch frame. Just a thought.
That should work perfect. Ford is now putting a piece of felt on the soft top mechanics to prevent scratches
Sticker fab has also come out with something similar too, I think.

Thanks for the great review!! Fantastic!
Thank you!
NE FL Here, and I think besides the State Park Trails, the most off road we will see is the beach. Any experience with our drive on beaches with soft/deep sand, or compact sand?
Although I haven’t on any beaches up that way, I have taken it to a couple beaches. The Bronco drove great!
Don't let buyer's remorse set in! Keep telling yourself the shoddy build quality is worth it!
No buyer's remorse here, but thanks for your concern!
1. Killer Video...2. It didn’t sound bad or loud at all,,,3. Keep the videos coming,,,
Thank you!!
Please keep us updated if the car leaks when parked outside in the heavy Florida rainstorms.
I will definitely keep you updated!
Yes that’s a typical Florida rain.
Yep!
Enjoyed your video! What’s the phone mount you’ve got set up on the dash accessory location? Looks front and back viewing.
It actually came with a circle light I bought, let me see if I can find the link and I will come back and post it!
It's loud on the freeway. If you like it, you'll deal with it and adjust.
I don't notice much of a difference once you have the radio on and kids talking in the back 😃
Damn I should have waited for this! I just bought a new ram 1500 in April.. this looks so badass! Congrats and thanks for the review!
Thank you so much! It takes a while to get, maybe order now and still drive your truck until it comes in :)
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV not a bad idea!
Awesome ride. I can't wait to get one myself. Keep up the great vids.
Thank you! Do you have one on order?
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I got on the list through my Ford portal but i haven't been contacted yet.
I guess i'll wait till everyone who ordered first gets theirs. Patiently waiting.
Great trim choice. Almost identical to what I'd get. Liking the Cactus Grey too!
Thanks! I am very happy with it. The color is just so unique, glad I went with it!
Yeah I agree 100% Soft top! Now if only you could order soft doors! 😛
Haha, who needs doors 😅
I'm missing out the Bronco frenzy for a Cybertruck.
That's cool!
Wow that’s a nice 2022 Ford bronco I don’t know if it’s a 2022 or 2021 but that’s a nice one!
Thank you! It's a 2021!
I know it new and all, but I can tell your son is going to love inheriting this. Don't ever sell it!
He always talks about how he gets to keep it once he turns 16 :) The only problem is my daughter is older than him, and says she wants it 😃😃
Good real world view. I would be satisfied with a non removable hard top. A convertible in Memphis in da hood is not a good idea
Thanks for watching
Overall I found Tampa similar to Charlotte as far as demographics, culture, size, etc.
thank you i definitely wanted to know about the noise.
You're welcome!
Nice video but....why didn't you show how to put the doors back on?
I ended up putting the doors on off camera which is probably a good thing. It was quite tricky the first time. We will be sure to get the process on video now that I have done it once. We are also coming up with a DIY door cart because these doors are heavy and rather large.
How about the sturdiness of the soft top in regards to security. Is it comparable to the jeep soft top or any huge differences.
The top is super easy to operate. I can put it up with a single hand. The security is the same as a jeep or any convertible. Best to keep belongings out of sight.
Can you remove the soft top all the way once it’s pulled all the way back if you want? Thanks!!
Yes, we have a video next week demonstrating this!
Duel top group is the way to go!
I would agree if someone doesn't mind waiting especially if you live up north. From November through April we do not see much rain so we probably won't have the top installed at all.
Great video. Getting trade values today to keep Ford honest when mine comes in next week! Thanks
I highly recommend Carvana! They gave me about 5k more than all dealerships offered me for my vehicle. If you don't have a Carvana near you try carmax. You can do it online on their websites to see that value they would give u!
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV thanks going to do it now. Got one strong quote so far but not from the Ford dealer.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV my quote from Carvava was $2500 more then dealer I bought the car from. Only $1,100 less then new in 2019. A friend then you recommended them glad I listened. Thanks
So happy to hear that!!
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV due at dealer 7/20.
Nice review. I enjoyed it. You look like a good mom who has fun with her kids. Respect. Subscribing to see more videos.
Thank you 😊
Have you tried using bungee cords to "squoosh" the top down and see if that gives you better visibility from the rear view? Apparently people do this with Jeeps. We test drove a demo unit and noticed the same thing regarding rear visibility. Thank you.
I have not. I know the top comes with the Velcro straps, but those don't do anything. Maybe I should experiment around with that, thanks!
The 2.3L equipped Bronco gets up to 20/22 MPG, the 2.7L is up to 18/20 MPG. The smaller Bronco Sport gets up to 25/28 MPG.
The more videos I see of it, the more I want one, haha. Yours is gorgeous! I look forward to your future videos and real world review..it really helps out people like me on the fence if I should make the big purchase.
Good review, thanks!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Do you get all the underbody protection with the plastic front bumper with the fog lights?
It has a plastic skid plate as well.
Does the AC keep up with the heat with a soft top? Does it get too warm in there on hot days?
Only if the back windows are out. If the windows are in the Bronco gets cold and stays cold. It is quite impressive.
Is the SOFT TOP fine in CAR WASH ??
Does it keep HEAT in winter ?
We don't take our cars through the car wash, but I don't see how it could hurt it. Also we live in Florida, so not sure of the heat, but it does stay cool in the hot summer so I would assume it would keep it warm in the winter.
The the engine and start up sounding like a Ford Focus. Lol. It’s cute tho I like it
Hahah!
Just subscribed. Great video, looks fun!
Thank you!!
I dont know if anyone else mentioned it or not but i just want to know what the chevy bowtie is on the dash lol
The phone and camera holder that I put on🙂
Stopping in to say hey howdy hey!
Hey!!!! ❤️
How's the gas mileage? Is it 19mpg as Ford advertises? Better? Worse?
I’ll use the Sport as a trade in.
Nice! That's good mpg! I am anxious to see what my mpg will be like since I tend to have a lead foot.
Very Cool family, driving a very cool Bronco!! 👍 👍
Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing. Do I detect a Midwestern accent? Somewhere around the great lakes.
I am originally from the Midwest, St Louis Missouri area! Good ear!
Just saw your picture in Brandon Ford FB post 😁
Cool! Thanks for stopping by and watching!
thank you!
You're welcome!
I love it congratulations 🥳
Thanks!
How is the room in the 2nd row with 3 kids back there??
They fit great and not too crammed. Next, I am going to see how it feels with 3 adults back there.
Great video, thank you
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Looks like you have cloth interior. Did it get wet at all when you were driving in the rain with the doors off?
On driver's side, not at all. Because of the wind, the passenger side got a tad bit wet on the side, but way less than what I was expecting with that rain.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Atleast in florida you can just let the sun dry it out. We don't know what sun is in the northeast. Thanks for the vids. :)
Did you pay any market adjustments?
No, we paid under msrp.
its a rag top , just like a convertible
How much was this? Love it!
The bronco?
Good informative video…thanks
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Does the soft top leak at all?
No, never had any leakage
Nice owner review. Thank you. 👌
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Theirs supposed to have cup holders in the middle of the back seat
Only leather has cup holders
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV The Jeep Gladiator is the same: No fold-down armrest/cup-holders unless you have leather seats...but at least there are still 2 cup-holders back there on the rear AC console.

I can smell the new car smell from here :)
You know it!! Wish I could take you for a ride!
