  • Pastor Robert Booth was a man of faith with a gift for music that he used to serve others.
"He was a great man of God who just had a heart for all people. It did not matter who you are," Dwayne Waden Jr. said.
Booth started Hood Holiness Church a few months ago with the goal of ending violence. Waden Jr., his brother, served as his associate pastor.
Just last week, Booth officially became ordained as a pastor and proposed to his girlfriend during the ceremony.
Days later, Pastor Booth was shot and killed outside his home on Ardale Drive in High Point Tuesday night.
"We started talking about wedding planning on Sunday and here we go, his family is having to plan a funeral a few days later," Brandon Smith said.
Smith is a longtime friend who said the pastor walked up to some young people wearing black ski masks in his neighborhood.
"He probably looked at those boys and saw himself," Waden Jr. said. "He wasn't encouraging gang violence. He wasn't selling dope. He was preaching the word of God. That's it. And they just took his life."
High Point Police are searching for two suspects and a burgundy SUV.
Booth leaves behind his fiance, a young son, and a mission.
"Everything he's been doing has been to save people in these neighborhoods that shooting each other for no reason," Waden Jr. said.
Waden Jr. will continue what his brother started.

This is a shame but do you really think God condones sin? No, man should be in the pulpit with an illegitimate son period! Just because he was helping others in his Christian way, does not mean we have to accept the sin. Any one that ordain him is just as guilty...liars! I know it's hard to accept but as a sinner, and seeking God's truths, I stopped lying to myself and faced God's truths. It is easier to accept life through the world's views but his lifestyle was opening the minds that one can live in sin and become a leader in God's pulpit...

      ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:8-10‬ ‭NLT‬
Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the LORD and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, LORD, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!”
Jesus responded, *“Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. For the Son of MAN came to seek and save those who are lost.”*
Clearly what you said is false. The Messiah Yeshua Ha’Mashiach came to seek for His lost sheep. Yes, there will be many who reject the LORD’s love for them and He will reject them on judgement day! Repent and seek the Word of Elohim (GOD).
