Your first bag should suit you and how you live. There is no universal best first bag. If you aren't a cross body gal, the bandoliere won't suit you. If you aren't a top handle girl, a lady Dior type won't suit you... If you are hard on your bags, don't get a delicate leather. It's a very individual thing. I do agree on the trend bag, unless like me you wait until the trend is over and get it cheap ;-D

I was eighteen when I started to hunt down vintage designer bags, clothing, hats, fascinators, jewelry, shoes and accessories for myself (my grandmother confiscated some of my bags. LOL). Vintage can be ridiculously expensive... I inherited my great grandmothers accessories, jewelry, mink coat for the 20s and more.
