WR is the better machine for your application in terms of producing boiler wood and the Easton made is better for bundles/ roadside stand. But awesome content coming up on both machines
I'm with you - I like to hold on to the tools I've acquired over time, even if I got another of the same tool.
I agree. As soon as you sell anything you don't think you'll need ....... you will! LOL Shalom/gw
The Wolfe Ridge can hang out in the Wolfe Den until needed!!
Good to have a back up and plus u can use it for bundles wood as well. So when is the work party. Lol.
I just might have to have a little gathering, get all my wood split and stacked for the year.....hmmmmmm. Gears. Turning.
Now you will be able to do good side by side comparisons. Plus the convenience of not switching wedges plus have a wood splitting party and get both machines going. You are a lucky man to be in the situation you are in! Hard work good content has paid off for you!!! Congrats on the accomplishments you have earned!
Thanks for the comment, appreciate that. And yes those are my thoughts about being able to split and not switch wedges, just send to the other splitter...haha
@@Back40Firewood I have three splitter's another one of mine is the trusty old ke🪓netic
Hello Dan, Keeping the beast is a no brainer! 💪😎🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
I remember saying those same words to a friend of mine about his wife...Hahahahaha!
That will be nice to have that option on using the wolf ridge when needed. There definitely will be the time and place to use it. Stay safe my friend
hi there you have come along way and learning well . thats a good plan . .good show , john
Plus ain't the eastonmade on loan and goes back at some point???
You own the Wolfridge so…
It amazes me how much elm you woodhounds get. In my little corner of WNY they're as common as a honest politician in DC
Common as an honest politician 🤣🤣👍. Thanks for the laugh this morning 😁👍
@@DanielAtkinsFirewood anytime Daniel. I don't always get a good one, some are real 💩 💩💩
Hahahahahaha. 🍻
Machines break down like everything else so to have two splitters isn’t a bad thing. Both of these splitters have different pros and cons. It is sort of like having two tractors that aren’t the same but do similar things and if one is down then you can grab the other one- hopefully.
Can you please do your next video in one of your high school t shirts! Rachel finally made me get rid of mine.
I have the exact log splitter in pro 28 wolfridge while i did have two of the automated bio mass in timberwolf the log splitter's that put out more seem to break easyer of course the wolfridge has been a better splitter but there all good splitter's!
What would Heath do? Ha ha “you can never have too many splitters”…
Hahahaha....yes that's not a bad idea/plan! 🍻
I already figured you would keep your splitter because the other one is just a lender. I think there is a lot of scrap with the Easton made splitter
The box wedge does make a bit more of the slash-n-trash.
I have noticed that as well with the Wolfe Ridge Box Wedge, but the other factor I believe is overlooked is you are creating so much more wood in just a few strokes, it evens out more than you’d think.
Great show! Keeping it is the right idea, I have 3 splitters and I could definitely see looking for a kinetic, WR RS, or an Ultra for re-splitting some day. The thing about the 37D or the blue Ox is you need a tractor or a pickup to move it around, there is no such thing anymore of grabbing the hitch and dragging it somewhere else in the wood yard. - it becomes a production, at least that has been my experience so far.
Smart idea to keep the WR as there will always be reasons to use it. Very good explanation on the podcast about the story surrounding the 37D and the WR and how things transpired. See ya tomorrow!
Excellent video Dan ❤🪵🪵🪵🪵🪵👍
Awesome footage same way I handle mine 💪💪
So if you are going to keep the Wolf Ridge. Are you going to build a new pole shed for the Eastonmade!!!
That question will be answered soon.
That Wolf Ridge is stout 👍💪🏻
Amazes me that anyone would feel the need to ask that question. Maybe common sense ain’t so common. Lol
Every splitter has it’s place in the wood yard.
Smart move keeping it.
It is good to have Backups! For everything. Well Dun!
That would have gone through the box wedge. I only have gotten one piece stuck in my box wedge, and it was a 4-way crotch piece. Even then, I pulled it back with a chain then pushed it through without issue.
It was interesting to see that elm go through the splitter. Many, many years ago when I was young and foolish (I'm not young anymore), I tried splitting elm with a maul and wedges. Needless to say, I quit after the first unsuccessful try.
Bill
I remember watching my dad split a few pieces once with his smaller box store splitter...after that I never even attempted to ever split a piece by hand! hahahaha
The wolfe ridge is a good machine for a son to inherit.
Also some folks own chevy AND ford lol
Dairy farm kids all had the "chores before presents" blues.
Tru that. Now that it's mine I've just got the 'gotta milk the cows blues'
Yes we did...& chores before almost everything else as well....hahahaha
I also have t-shirts from high school!😂
I wasn't wondering if you would sell the WR... why would you, since the EM is just a loner machine. That would be... "not very smart..." if you were to ask me, LOL.
What now the environmentalists are going to have a fit. Because you are using 2x the amount of fuel from 2 splitters..🤣🤣👍
Hahahaha....I might even get into a spot when both splitters AND the tractor will be running at the same time.
@Back 40 Firewood oh man, the ideas are coming in now..🤣🤣🤣
@@Back40Firewood instant ozone depletion. 😅😅😅
Great idea
Do the HS t-shirts still fit ? I’m not judging 😛
lol....they're a little tighter in some areas...like the arms. HA! 💪🍻
Go Dan go 👍👍
Morning wood hounds, morning Dan, see you tomorrow night
I figured you were to smart to sell it. Great splitter with a Honda engine to boot. Congratulations on the new edition to the wood yard.
I figured you’d keep it.
Agree with keeping👏🏻..never know when opportunities end..WR is a great machine. T-shirts from high school, either dry rot or mostly lbs sent them away yrs ago😀😀👏🏻
80s? I lost many good ones for those exact reasons. Or the print all washed off
I like the convenience you'll have using different wedges instead of stopping production. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
It will be nice to send knotty, snarly stuff to one machine and not needing to pull wedges out of the Eastonmade...those wedges are HEAVY!! lol
Elm = boiler wood. Makes sense.
This stuff smells way to bad to try to sell, but it'll burn fine for me...hahaha
Good morning , hope everyone's doing fine today
Hey Stanley, thanks....yes been a good day. Hope the same for you.
