Thanks for coming back to them and featuring this. Many hall-of-fame bands have one masterpiece to their name. In five short years, Lovebites have somehow given us several. I rank only "Frozen Serenade" ahead of this.

I dont really know exactly what is considered prog or not, but i think the song Dystopia Symphony fits that vibe. The song doesn't have a video, its one of their newer songs from their last EP.
I definitely recommend you react to it after you run out of videos!! It's a fantastic composition from Miyako!! And Haruna's drumming is pure fire in that track!! 🤘🙂🥁✨

Yes it isvery proggy and among the best and very equivalent to Dream Theater, I say the same for Empty Daydream and Epilogue (a proggy ballad). I got me a hat just lke that when me and my son saw Dream Theater this past Monday 3/21, the opening act was Arch Echo a very proggy instumental band but awesome, the freaking drummer was kicking butt and stealing the show
That sounds like an amazing show! I've seen DT 5 times I think. I got the hat at the Scenes from a Memory tour. Pulled it out when I started hearing DT style in different songs!

I think this and A Frozen Serenade are their only true prog songs for the studio versions. Epilogue and Empty Daydream become prog songs when played live otherwise they are pretty standard songs.

Epilogue is in no way "pretty standard". 🤦 And Empty Daydream is an emotional punch in the gut.

Yeah......Lovebites. Not enough words to describe. Try the song Addicted from Zepp Diversity Tokyo from 2020 year. I think they'll left you speechless after end of the song. Enjoy it.

I'm thinking the intro might be reminding you of "Alone" by Heart. The tempo here is slower, but the vibe is similar. I love Asami here. Her vocals are perfect, her performance is sweet and endearing, and she's just beautiful. This is the second to last song of the show; the closer is the fantastic "We the United" and has a KILLER dual guitar solo. The video that autoplay loaded up, "The Awakening/Hammer of Wrath," actually precedes this is the setlist and is the start of the encore. "The Awakening" is played over the speakers and not by the ladies, but it gets the crowd hyped anyway.
As for a recommendation, I want mention a band I don't think you've covered yet. They're called Unlucky Morpheus. They're a six piece of two women and four men, they're Japanese, and they call themselves "technical melodic speed metal." Since you're a prog fan, I think you'll like them. They have a live cover of Dream Theater's "Dance of Eternity" on their channel, but the song I'm going to recommend is called "Unending Sorceress." It's my favorite song from them. It's about Final Fantasy VIII, specifically the fan theory that Rinoa and Ultimecia are one and the same. It has both clean and harsh vocals; the harsh vocals are done by one of the guitarists whose clothes in the vid look like those of Dante from DMC. The clean vocalist, Fuki, dresses up as an original sorceress and looks badass. Here's a link to "Unending Sorceress."

Alone by Heart isn't the one I was specifically thinking of, but it works. I was thinking more along the lines of a couple songs by Air Supply or All By Myself by Eric Carmen.
As for Unlucky Morpheus, check out tomorrow (March 28th) for something special. I also reacted to Cadaver/Revadac and was completely blown away. Video is from a few days ago as they were the first winners of our Fan Choice Friday poll. I have Unending Sorceress and now that I know it has to do with FFVIII, you can be sure it'll be moved up my schedule. LOL

One rule I have is NEVER stop in middle of a solo, so I never will do that intentionally. I'm sure there'll be a point where I mess up and don't know or something, but regardless, it'll get a 2nd listen! Thanks for the comment!
I get more of Nightwish from this song. The song going through various time changes, starting slow with buildup. Taking you on a journey. Like Tuomas using choir parts he records himself in NW. using those back tracks to give a journey like feel. Empty daydream, very Dream Theaterish, as is Inspire. Inspire prog feels.

The guitar in the first movement is heavily influenced by Slash Hudson. You could parachute M&M into ANY Metal band and guarantee that the quality of the music would at least be maintained.

No doubt you have, but saying it's "formulaic" tells me all I need to know. LOL
When you keep saying this is PROG. REALLY. It is pop metal created for the mobile phone generation.
Which, by pure definition, would be "prog" IE: Progresive. IE: moving forward. I think calling it Pop Metal is a little too mainstream. You'd never hear this song on any normal radio station (US, at least) based on it's style and non-radio friendliness.
