That's quite a coincidence 😆 A couple of days ago I started to study this opening as Black, and I was looking up in your channel if you had something about it, then boom (!) 🔥 there you go with a freshly posted new hour long in-depht analysis of the Veresov... you made my day!! Thanks, you're one of the best YT chess channel, if not the best!! 🙂
you can actually transpose into the most favorable richter-veresov lines via the Trompowsky - those Qh5 lines. That's how I like to play it. Nimzo players have no idea what hit them... 1. d4 Nf6 2. Bg5 d5 3. e6 c5 (best line for black) 4. Bxf6 gxf6 (most common reply) 5. Nc3 - now you're in the richter-veresov Qh5 lines. You can also transpose into the french rubinstein / burn variation from the Tromp in many lines. In my opinion the Tromp has all the upsides with none of the downsides
His English is truly excellent, and he explains openings in a very reasonable way. However, at 447:40 he misses that white can play 7. d4-d5 creating a reversed Albin Counter-Gambit; that's clearly much better than the feeble 7. f3 x e4:. Exactly the same point at 49.20 where it's the same position but without h7-h6 and bh4. NEVERTHELESS all in all a well-explained & instructive video
Im a 1300 player and this has been my go to opening. I had no idea what openings are and just do this intuitively like half of my games as white. Great to see the theory behind it.
I was vaguely aware of the existence of this but had never looked into it. I think your idea about using it against people that play a particular combination of openings is the right one. As for black, they should just play 2...c5 and take the game in their own direction (it's what I do anyway).
Excellent video that helped me win a rated OTB game last week. Thanks! I have a video request, if you’ll entertain it: can you make a video on the Rat Defense Harmonist - 1. e4 d6 2. f4? There aren’t any instructional videos online for this opening. Thank you!
Kind of a strange opening to recommend, since in the end of a lot of these lines, you say black is slightly better AND that you would prefer to be black.
He stated at various moments in the video that White is not playing for a conventional advantage but positions your opponent isn‘t familiar with. In such cases it‘s always the player more familiar with the position who has the advantage (even among top Grandmasters).
@@SahnigReingeloetet I agree, which is why I also added that he would also prefer to be black. So the position is worse for white, and apparently more pleasant to play for black as well, hence his preference for the black side.
I cannot believe my eyes. My man just started making opening videos again. Thank you so so so much.
Because of your opening videos i got fide rating 1039 which will come next month thank you sir

Thanks!
Does anyone know what opening Stjepan is trying to recall at 25.30 = "a reverse panov attack" the position at 25.39 feels like a very uncommon one.
Will you cover vienna, english and reti?
Yes.
@@HangingPawns That's good to hear. Waiting for your channel to hit 200k subs. 🙃
