The first game was an accident that worked because of hiphop's branding, the second one did even better, because they took story notes from Method Man himself who was helping write the game. This third one is just a corporate cash grab based on what worked about the second one without, including any of the voice actors that made the second one what it was. And then changing the game mechanics and making it about hip-hop beef, which will later on get so many more rappers killed was tasteless. Where in the second game did they ever mention music or the studio? Or even signing record deals? This game made it too much about the violence in the music industry and not fighting game that had hip hop skins.

I dont think theu copy strike for this game i watched a few streamers play icons and i believe you need the music for the fights ya opponents can do the dj thing to change the music to their song and when ya song play it makes your punches and kicks stronger
If this game was a different title, I'd bet that people wouldn't have gotten upset as much about the game. The game is solid, but it's not a "real" Def Jam game, IMO. Just like AC:Black Flag is a fire game, but it's not really a true AC title when it got released.

They can’t buy the gaming controls that the two other def jam have because those controls are owned by china and it cost some millions to use those mechanics which is why you can’t use those mechanics
If I’m remembering the people who made icon develop fight night round 3 so they made them use they mechanics to pay less money cause the people who made fight for ny went a different way and made others games so they can get out of fight for ny shadow but if Ea wasn’t cheap and gave ikea the people who made Ny a bag when would have a different game

I felt I was Stripped down to my drawers after this mess of a game. I remember growing up reading the old Xbox magazine and saw the pics of the game. I was so disappointed because around this time, the dumb Skate series hit the market and Everyone and their mother wanted to play a game were you “Flick the stick” for gameplay this series was Stripped serched and toss to the garbage bin.
I probably put in like 2 hours then on this then threw it out the window did the same with NBA Street Homecourt but I dont think I made it to even a hour with that game
