@ 8:38 A little explanation. The panorama was indeed originally exhibited in the city of Lwów/Lemberg/Lviv, but it was not Ukraine at that time. It was an ancient Polish city, then under the rule of the Austrian Habsburg dynasty.

Learn history. This is a historically Ukrainian city and the fact that you owned it for a certain period does not give you the right to call it Polish. Let's call Wroclaw German then?

@@alexsmurov1352I'm afraid you're the one who doesn't know history. Lwów was built by Polish king Casimir the Great. Local fortress from which the city took its name was there destroyed and burned by the Tatars or Lithuanians and a new one had to be built - in a completely different place, on different hills with the help of German and Italian craftsmen. The Rurikids and Piast houses were closely related. Casimir inherited Lwów and legally incorporated it into the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland.
How exactly was the city of Lviv founded? Originally as a small fortress, built and named after his son, by Prince Daniel of Galicia. He's an interesting historical figure, because he was probably the most inclined towards Western Europe out of all the Ruthenian princes, even gaining the title of king, unknown in the Ruthenian tradition, and involved himself in European affairs, trying to emancipate himself from the Mongol yoke, which unfortunately he failed to do. Daniel's son, Lew, is an example of the strong ties between the Rurik dynasty and the polish House of Piasts. Lew, considering himself a descendant of polsih prince Bolesław III Krzywousty, even put forward his claims to Kraków. At one point, he treated Lviv, which was derived from his name, as his main seat. His son Jerzy again entered into personal ties with the Piasts and his wife became the princess of Kuyavia, Eufemia, the sister of Władysław Łokietek. However, Lwów lost its importance and fell into decline. The weakening Principality of Galicia-Volhynia was under increasing pressure from the Lithuanians, and was harassed by the Tatars. Its last ruler is the Mazovian Piast, Bolesław Jerzy II, summoned by the Ruthenians (his mother was a princess of Galicia, daughter of the aforementioned Jerzy, son of Lew), after whom the rights to the Principality of Galicia-Volhynia were legally inherited by Casimir the Great, who incorporate Red Ruthenia into the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. Casimir burned a small fortress called Lviv, pacifying local magnates allied with the wild Tatars, and shortly afterwards the Lithuanians burned a nearby settlement. The city was thus founded anew by Casimir the Great, who clearly stated in the location document "that all residents, both Poles and Ruthenians, Armenians, Jews and Tatars, have the right to maintain their own laws, religion and customs". As you can see, it was not the Habsburgs who made Lviv a colourful, multi-ethnic and tolerant city... a city whose existence and development were so closely linked to the Poland. Lwów is therefore the child of the unions and conflicts of the Piasts with the Rurikids, Poles with Ruthenians, forged at a time when 'Ukraine' was called something completely distant, over a thousand kilometres away lying on the banks of the Dnieper and permanently devastated by the Mongol yoke and Tatar raiders.
Btw. Even a medieval chronicler from Kyiv wrote that the territories on which Lwów was later founded were originally Polish. Moreover, linguistic research proves that the names of objects in the Dniester basin are of West Slavic origin, which corresponds perfectly with relation of Nestor who clearly wrote that in 981 Rus prince Vladimir took it from "Lachs" that is, Poles.
Polish Lwów became Ukrainian Lviv only thanks to Stalin who within a month he brought there several dozen thousand of his Ukrainians, drastically changing the natural demographic proportions.

Interesting fact about Panorama Racławicka, and Kościuszko specifically, is that he fought in American revolution, he was amazing engineer who basically created fortifications of West Point, believed in slaves’ liberation and in his will he expected for all his American possessions to be used to liberate, train and provide tools for as many slaves as possible, so they can earn living once they are free. Actually his own black servant was treated by him as his equal and liberated. He brought those ideas to Poland, and the revolution he led here was successful, because he was able to convince huge number of Polish ‘chłopi’ - literally slaves, who by many accounts, were actually in worse position than American slaves - to join, and promised them liberation country wide as well.
It broke my heart when I saw BLM rioters almost destroy his statue, because he was white and among founding fathers.

This is the only vlog about Wrocław that I like and I've watched many of them. We have similar culinary tastes - red borscht, clear like red wine, served in cups to drink with, for example, croquettes or as a soup with "uszka" - small dumplings. Red borscht is very healthy and warming. I know Wrocław, but I've never heard of the Jewish district because it was never talked about. Racławice Panorama - you mentioned that it was originally in Lviv in Ukraine, but at that time Lviv was a Polish city. Lviv was a second Krakow, it was architecturally similar to Krakow, a cultural center with a great school of mathematics from which outstanding mathematicians and physicists came, by the way, popular calculators are based on a Polish mathematical solution, and those who deciphered Enimus come from Polish Lviv and also the co-creator of the hydrogen bomb. I think you felt safe in Wrocław and are happy with your stay in Wrocław. If you were at the top of the tower, you may have noticed a mountain on the horizon. It is Mount Ślęża, a kind of Slavic Olympus.

Chata -> Khata, not Tchata :)
but in general, you pronounce Polish words well, which are not easy for a foreigner.
PS Kurna Chata means a primitive house (hut) from the old days, where there is no fireplace and the smoke from the fire rises up and comes out through gaps under the thatched roof.

True - "pączki" are pronounced "pon-tschkee", while you pronounced it "pah-tschkee", which indeed sounds like the word that means "parcels (or boxes)". I hope this will help improve your Polish 🙂 Thx for a great, long-awaited vid 🥰
