You, guys are both Polish patriots at heart: ("Poland" Ryszard Przymus): "Poland is such a land, which begins in the heart. Then he is close in my thoughts, in the beautiful land on the Vistula River. We walk her paths, we build, we defend. Poland - Homeland... The land that begins in the heart."

Wroclaw is okay, but it's just like another European city and it isn't really even historically Polish as it was German up until WWII. I lived there for six months after living in Lublin and Pulawy for 26 years and it just didn't have the same Polish traditional feeling. Now I have moved back to Lublin for the weekends and spend my week days in Warsaw for work and feel much better.

Hello to both of you. I am ALREADY a subscriber (because I wanted to be able to find your channel again) - due to both what I have seen you have for content & your personalities (despite the feet up on the chairs - ahem! 😄 - & I know that was only ONE of you anyways 😉.) I did even put a "like" on this video too. I will be watching your series slowly over a bit of time because: I am a Polish Canadian person & don't know enough about my heritage. I do know some (& it is surprising how I still have a Polish character, despite being raised in a British based, multi-cultural society as Canada is. **Just as a side-note, you would be told about having your feet on the seats in Canada too. 🤔 This is just in case you ever intend on ever visiting here. But now, end of shoes/seats issue. 😅) About this video's content: To the Polish people (& their decendents in other countries 😊), it is VERY important to us that you be reliable AND be honest! I do NOT find this in the British culture that I live in in Canada & have found this with British background Americans either. I don't know about the honesty of the hispanic cultures, but I believe that (as with this video maker that you were watching), hispanic people are not always reliable either. I HAVE found that many people of British background want to (appear) nice. They will use nice words & ask nice questions but don't want to live up to any of it or want to hear any of it from you. One example I will give you - British people will always say "Hi, how are you?" When you ACTUALLY start to tell them how you are - good or bad (but esp. bad) - they don't actually WANT to KNOW. For these British people, it is simply a sentence of being polite. To a Polish person, it is an ACTUAL question! You ask an actual question, you will get an actual answer (unless the situation is a dangerous one - like under Communism for instance.) Even to this day, as a Polish decendent - if someone asks me how I am - I give them THE RESPECT that they are BEING TRUE/HONEST & actually WANT an answer - even if I KNOW that they are British. (Being Polish however, if our situation is bad, we WILL say so, but we will minimise HOW bad it is & ALWAYS end on a positive note, so not to bring anyone down - even if it is simply by saying that things could or have been worse so it is not so bad or you just get through it, etc.) A second example - if you ask someone if they can help you, some British people will say, yes of course, while they are already thinking of an excuse to NOT be there when you have asked for the help or just don't show up, hoping you won't ask about it. A Polish person does NOT do that. They won't try to LOOK nice by saying they will do something when they have no intention of doing so. From a Polish perspective, NOT helping when you said that you would, puts you in an EVEN WORSE situation, because now at the last minute OR when it is too late - you need to try to find someone else. If the person had been honest in the 1st place & said "no" (politely, hopefully), you MAY have been able to get help from someone else in time. (I consider it one of the worst traits that British people, or British-decended people - [not ALL of course] possess.) If a Polish person says that they will do something, they WILL do it. If they don't do so - there had to have been a BIG problem to prevent it ie. they ended up in the hospital or in a car crash & their phone was out of charge to contact you (or someone else to take their place in helping you etc.) Every culture does some things well & some things poorly. That is just life. If we can learn to retain our GOOD habits & change our BAD habits with how another culture does a better job, we would be doing very well as a world. On that note, (many) Polish people still tend to be religious & moral. They believe (& maybe because I am of Polish heritage, I believe it too), that if they see someone NOT behaving in a proper way & NOT saying anything about it - that person WILL CONTINUE to do what is considered bad - either because the person doesn't know it's considered bad (& then HOW can they learn if nobody tells them?) or else they are seeing what they can manage to get away with - before doing more & even worse things (to see how far they can go against society - like a child who is seeing where the boundaries are.) If you DON'T say anything, things get worse. (After studying psychology & just observing the world & societies, it is so obvious that this is true.) Furthermore, that badly behaving person can be setting a bad example to others - that others will then duplicate wherever the person gets observed doing this bad thing that they may do all the time & everywhere. As to South Africans: You are called a "Westerner" because your cultural BACKGROUND is British &/or Dutch - BOTH areas considered "West" AND you are part of the BRITISH Commonwealth - which would again keep some of those British traditions alive in your nation. THAT is the reason. (Australians & Kiwis ALSO get classified as "Westerners" for this reason.) NOW that I have explained the reason - basing it on your cultural background INFLUENCE, I will give my APOLOGY. 😶‍🌫 If I EVER think that your behaviour is based on this cultural background, I WILL go ahead & say it in this longer way. (This way I will ALSO show that I DO understand that you will ALSO have influences in your national characteristic that are NOT based on British or Dutch, but on African traditions & possibly others as well. I will ALSO [maybe] show that I understand [NOW, as I truly should have all along] that this WOULD be offensive to you. My apologies, apologies, apologies. (I am Canadian after all so I have to do it more than once. 😄) Thank-you for letting us know that it IS offensive to you. Thank-you for a great video with your great reaction. I will be watching more. To the lady in this video (I didn't catch any names yet, sorry 😶‍🌫), are you ALSO having some Polish heritage in your background? Did I hear you say that? I am not sure if I missed it/or was hearing things?? Have a great day/night (& I DO mean that 😄.)

All very well but UK declred war on Hitlers Germany because they had invaded Poland and were given an ultimatum to wothdraw, They did not withdraw and UK was in a war basically to rescue Poland from Gemrna ocupation .It is churlish not to thank Poles who came to Britain but they were supplied with planes, training and suport to fight against Germany to help them regain their nation , Not really a great cause for British people to thank them .The other way rouind would fit the situation better, or at least just as well.

War was declared not to rescue Poland, which was an impossible task but just as an act of honour, attempt to save face after disastrous appeasement policy.

    • @walterkronkitesleftshoe6684

@@mecx7322 I completely agree that the British and French declaration of war was NOT intended as a direct military intervention (i.e forces or equipment being sent to Poland to defend against the German invasion, In the first instance how could they be transported though the Kattegat past the German coast?). But on the other hand war wasn't really declared by Britain & France "for honour". It was hoped that simply the threat of having to militarily face the combined "might" of the British & French Empires would scare the Germans into withdrawing the wehrmacht from Poland, I.E to contain German expansionism. The Germans called our bluff, thinking that once again our diplomacy & spirit was weak and that if challenged we would back down with our ultimatum to remove their forces from Polish territory. We didn't, and the rest is history.

The question about our allies, in the West they are not there and never have been, we have been betrayed by them many times. Now it is the same, patriots from Poland are to be given to Ukraine. And where is our defense? Few missiles have already flown into Polish territory? The West is sucking everything out of us, from people to money, and now they want to steal our deposits, which are the richest in Europe. Our allies have always been the Hungarians and the Slavic brothers, and if they hadn't tried to quarrel us among ourselves, there wouldn't be any wars between us. It's nice that you like my country, I'm not surprised, because in my opinion it's the best place to live. However, there are bad people who do everything to make life difficult for Poles and in their own country.

Vodka (pronounciation: Voodka) is not a Polish drink. Poles from the antiquity used to drink Honey Mead but the richer Poles in those times used to drink also a Hungarian Tokay. Vodka came to Poland with the Russian occupation, but Russians did not invent vodka. Vodka was invented by Ruthenians, in other words Vikings (Varangians), so contemporary Swedes also regard vodka as their invention. Do not mix Vikings with Germanic tribes, please.

Rest assured, if it was NOT for the British ALONE, then Poland would STILL have swastikas flying over its cities, and nazi death camps operating on its soil to this DAY, and YOU and your family would be nothing more than a pile of smouldering ashes on the floor of a nazi death camp crematorium. Instead of insulting the sacrifices made by your British saviours, show the same level of gratefulness that your Polish refugee ancestors showed when they called the British isles the "island of the last hope". Poland was RESCUED from nazi tyranny, and all this "Polish strength" nonsense was for NOUGHT without the efforts of outsiders.

Ahh, another day when tourist got scammed in Poland. This "toast" is nothing else than classic Zapiekanka. Zapiekanka is much longer and only difference is bread instead of toast. 11zł for 1 toast with champignons? Not worth. 25zł for classic Zapiekanka with 0.5L cola? Even more scam. Incredible how in those days people get scammed and don't even notice it. Classic good Zapiekanka you can buy for 10zł, cheeeeeeese, champignons and garlic sauce/ketchup. Nothing complicated and still tourist get scammed on "tourist places".

From Berlin you can directly go by train to Szczecin, Poznań, Warsaw. I’m not sure about Gdańsk. From Warsaw you can easily reach out to Kraków, Białystok or Lublin. Wrocław is beautiful but you shouldn’t limit yourself just to one city. And cuisin in Podlasie is different than in Silesia. Did you try silesian noodles while visiting Wrocław? In Białystok you should try cepeliny. And all soups. Polish cuisine is famous for its soups.
